Odds And Ends: Lohse, Lopes, B-Squad Win

A few quick odds and ends on a busy Monday:

  • Buster Olney — per MLB Trade Rumors — reports Kyle Lohse (remember him?) is willing to take a one-year deal worth between $4MM and $10MM.

This after many figured he would be worth at least four years and at least $32MM.

My the tune has changed. The Phils should snatch him.

  • In more serious news, Phillies first base coach Davy Lopes will undergo surgery for prostate cancer at the end of the month.

Lopes hasn’t been in Clearwater yet. Under Lopes, the Phillies had the best single season stolen base percentage in Major League history last season. Jerry Martin will take over his duties until he returns. Here’s hoping for a speedy recovery.

  • The Phillies B-squad won their game this morning, 1-0.

Jamie Moyer went four shutout innings, while Travis Blackley finished it up, going three shutout. Blackley is creeping his way into the No. 5 slot with each appearance.
