Gamenight: Mets (73-59) At Phillies (72-59)

Headline: Prize fight in the NL East
The Major Players: Jamie Moyer, Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Rollins, Jose Reyes
The Venue: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia
The Number: 0.5 games back (Mets)

First place in the National League East is up for grabs tonight as the Phils and Mets meet in the first of a short two-game swing. The Phillies are coming off a sweep of the Dodgers; the Mets took care of business against Houston.

Vote For Pedro: Since returning to the Phillies from the DL, Pedro Feliz is hitting .357.

Vote For Pedro, Part II: Pedro Martinez gave up two runs off five hits in 5.1 innings against the Phils back in July. If you remember, the Mets broke out off Adam Eaton, but the Phils somehow clawed back before coming up short. Martinez had two strong outings against Pittsburgh, but gave up four Thursday against Atlanta.

Vote For Pedro, Part III: Left-handed reliever Pedro Feliciano has given up eight hits in 4.1 innings against the Phils this year, for an ERA of 6.23. As always, the Mets bullpen will be highly dissected in this series.

Phillies: Jamie Moyer (11-7) 3.54 ERA
Mets: Pedro Martinez (4-3) 4.97 ERA

Gametime: 7:05 p.m. EST
Weather: 79, partly cloudy
Lineup: Rollins/Utley/Burrell/Howard/Victorino/Werth/Feliz/Coste/Moyer

Your gamenight beer: Heavy one tonight. Go with Ipswich Oatmeal Stout. A delicious treat that goes well with any late-night fat-adder. Chocolate? Sure. Even a heavier meat goes good with this. Enjoy your stout slow.

Go Phillies!

i’m forecasting a split here. we win tonight. they win tomorrow. this will come down to the last weekend just like last year

No beer for me tonight as I am working.I am in NYC and looking forward to this 2 game set.I will be listening to “Wheels” and Larry tonight courtesy of XM because I want to hear what those guys have to say about the next week and a half as its VERY critical for both teams and will say a lot about October.Good luck and may the best team win.We all should try and keep it civil in here tonight both Phils and Amazins fans and enjoy the next 2 nights and the rest of the season.

    August 26, 2008 at 6:28 pm

The only “amazin” thing about these muts is how they had to cough up an extra 60 million in payroll just to stay even with the phillies.

  4. NEPA

    August 26, 2008 at 6:36 pm

I don’t know, that collapse last year was pretty “amazin”

  5. Grrrumpy Miner

    August 26, 2008 at 6:37 pm

I was looking for a little class that guy….is that the BEST you can do? Plus the “Muts” moniker (However it is spelled) is old and cliche. You don’t see Amazins fans using Phlounders,Phonies or Sillies to describe your team.Phillies deserve all the respect because they are a solid team like the Mets. Mets bullpen is a big issue as the Phils starters are quesionable.Line ups are just about even and both teams will fight for the NL East til the bitter end (and believe me,2007 was a bitter end)

  6. Griffin

    August 26, 2008 at 6:41 pm

as a Phils fan in NY, I desperately need a win tonight and therefore a split in the series. I can’t take 5 straight series losses to these boners and their fans.

Your not going to find any class or warm milk and cookies from me. I despise you dirtbags.

  8. that guy

Is that really the lineup. Its a shame we don’t have any lefty bats in the bottom half of the lineup. I guess we will need Feliz’ glove in the lineup though.

  9. Grrrumpy Miner

    August 26, 2008 at 6:53 pm

Wasn’t looking for “milk and cookies” or peaches and cream! lol. Hate and despise all you want, but don’t hate on the player, hate the game.

  37. Griffin

    August 26, 2008 at 7:22 pm

no, Ryan Church said “all Jews are going to hell” when he was with the Nats. The team made him apologize. I’m not making it up, you can google it. Oh, and I’m not even Jewish, it’s just funny how a guy can do that and get away with it. The Mets dont’ care as long as they appease their Hispanic fanbase.

  39. Griffin

then again, everyone deserves a second chance, but if Mets fans call Brett Myers a “wifebeater” (and I have no problem with that) then we can call Church an anti-semite, no?

    August 26, 2008 at 7:26 pm

“…as long as they appease their Hispanic fanbase.” – Griffin

Isn’t that a bit presumptuous of you to say? I won’t question your knowledge of what Church said in D.C., but I will definitely question your aforementioned statement. You’re assuming that the Mets organization only care about the financial status of the club, as pleasing the fan base entails more money for the Mets. Although I disagree with your statement as you couldn’t back it up anyway, aren’t all organizations the same way? Look at your organization. You won’t cough up a dime unless you’re basically shoved up against a wall. Mind you, your payroll is nowhere near the payroll that the Marlins and Rays have. It’s ultimately all about money in any institution.

Like I said, Pedro fucking sucks. I’ve never liked him.

  47. Griffin

    August 26, 2008 at 7:29 pm

David, they made a conscious decision to sign high-profile Hispanic players (Pedro, Beltran) to target their Hispanic fanbase. The Spanish lessons in between innings at Shea Stadium and the establishment of losMets.com are other indications of that. They can go about their business however they please but I can also criticize it however I please.

  48. Griffin

    August 26, 2008 at 7:30 pm

oh, and I didn’t mean to say they don’t care about winning. They opened up their pocketbooks to try and win, I respect that.

  53. David, the Mets fan from Queens

    August 26, 2008 at 7:34 pm

You’ve criticized the Mets organization based on their financial tactics when, if you think about it, it makes sense. How many Hispanic persons are living in New York City? Likely, isn’t it interesting how our Hispanic players play well and attract a fan base simultaneously? This tactic seems to not only have worked, but worked well besides the acquisition of Pedro. How does this harmless tactic displeasure you?

P.S. This game will be a high-scoring one as our bullpen stinks and your two best hitters have bad averages against Pedro. We’ll see!

  54. Rob

    August 26, 2008 at 7:34 pm

It should also be noted that Church didn’t state that all jews were going to hell.

He ASKED, as in “aren’t all jews going to hell?”.

Those were the beliefs he was taught, and was surprised to find that the person he was speaking with had a different understanding of our jewish friends plight.

    Ignorant….shallow….but not hateful.

    NEPA,

Isn’t this a blog about baseball? Am I not talking about baseball? Why don’t you be fair and boot me simply because I am not commenting on the specifics on the game.

    – I believe that Utley and Rollins will do well tonight and Howard and Burrell won’t. I also think that my bullpen will give up runs and that yours won’t. Is that better? Am I meeting your needs?

  59. Griffin

    August 26, 2008 at 7:36 pm

David, I’m not the one who made this whole situation well known, Carlos Delgado did when he was insulted that Minaya went after him b/c of his race. You can justify it all you want as smart marketing (and it is) but not everyone has to agree with it.

Anyways, enough. I loate the Mets and that’s that. Back to baseball.

I am an avid Mets fan and I love my team, but I’ve never liked him as a person and a player. I have my reasons, and like Griffin suggested, I have that right. I’ve been to Citizen’s Bank several times and respect the fans, the stadium, and the team. I expect the same from Phillies fans at Shea, but we know what really happens! Mike T.,

I appreciate the fact that this blog site is user-friendly and fair to all of its participants.

    Danny,

I think it’s interesting how we, the faithful fans, sometimes get at each other when our respective teams are doing well when in reality we are BOTH shaking in our pants because a lead in the “Bank” means NOTHING. I don’t think that my team is that much better than yours. Our teams match up evenly in certain respects, but your team has an amazing slugging percentage. You have a solid bullpen and an amazing 1-2-3-4 hitters. Rollins, Utley, Burrell and Howard? You have to respect that.

You know, I hear all this talk about the NL wild card going to the central, yet the Yankees are said to have a chance to win the AL wild card.. why can’t the NL wild card go to one of our teams? After all, the Mets and Phillies are both really hot right now..

Why do people give up on their team so easily? There is a whole month left of baseball? Did you not read the Philly/NY Daily News Sports Section today? This 2-game series means NOTHING. Likely, it’s only the fourth inning in your tiny ballpark! Keep your heads up! We’ve all seen amazing things happen? The Mets can continue to rout the Phils, the Phils can walk-off, the Mets and Phils may endure sixteen extra innings! Baseball is one of the few sports that has a SUBSTANTIAL room for spontaneity!

The whole bandbox argument never made sense to me. The opposing team plays in the very same ballpark, therefore are given the ability to reap the same benefits. So stop using that as an excuse for the Phillies success.

And the dimensions aren’t that dissimilar from your average ballpark to begin with.

I swear, you Mets fans just find an excuse for anything that doesn’t go your way.

  205. David, the Mets fan from Queens

    August 26, 2008 at 9:31 pm

    SJ Mike

Generalizations never work as every individual is different. Learn how to argue.

  206. Rob

    August 26, 2008 at 9:32 pm

    SJ Mike –

What’s not going the Mets way?

9-4 against you this year, and have put 7 runs on the board thus far.

How could making an observation about CBP – even if its wrong – be sour grapes…

if there’s nothing to be sour about?

  207. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 9:35 pm

I was over at Metsblog reading their comments. When the homeruns were hit, automatically its because its the Phillies bandbox or its a “little league park” or not a “real ballpark.”

Or you guys start chirping bandbox anytime a homerun is hit.

  208. David, the Mets fan from Queens

    August 26, 2008 at 9:38 pm

    Again…generalizing.

  209. Rob

    August 26, 2008 at 9:38 pm

  218. David, the Mets fan from Queens

    August 26, 2008 at 9:57 pm

To generalize means to attribute a certain character to a group of individuals. – SJ, you’ve based your claim on what CERTAIN Mets fans type on a CERTAIN Mets blog. Yet, you’ve claimed that “Mets fans,” which entails all fans, are etc. You cannot make a serious statement when you say that “All x’s are y” when every “x” is different.

That’s not “retard logic,” but logic.

  219. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:01 pm

So David the Mets fan, you mean to tell me that you and your fellow Mets fans have never once ever generalized anything. Let’s say what Mets fans think of the Phillies or our city. Or what about the reputation of our fans? Or saying things like “Sillies” and “Philthys” and whatever other clever names you come up with.

And I’m not generalizing when I bring up a point I’m making to a specific point of contention being made earlier.

    August 26, 2008 at 10:15 pm

Didn’t say “Let’s Go Phillies” is, but at least is has some kind of rhythm to it.

  227. Rob

    August 26, 2008 at 10:16 pm

    SJ Mike –

Can you explain how not dancing in celebration, or throwing his hat down in disgust. would translate into him being more dangerous?

What kind of numbers could we expect to see if he stopped doing all that?

  228. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 10:17 pm

All you mets fans,,go back to metland where x=y…,you are all “x’s”…and y = asshole

  229. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:20 pm

I’m not talking about his celebration dances. He has had so many mood swings and when he is in a down mood, his numbers go down. Remember Jerry Manuel’s first game and he took Reyes out and Reyes threw the fit.

And at the beginning of the season when Reyes wasn’t celebrating how poor he was playing at times. This is just an outsider’s view who doesn’t watch him daily, but I read a lot of the Mets viewpoints and I always hear the complaints about Reyes’ maturity.

He is a player that scares me as a Phillies fan and I’m just saying that if he carries this form of play and maturity that he has had the past season through a full season, he’d be far more dangerous then he already is.

    I’m paying him a compliment.

  230. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:22 pm

Way to step it up Jimmy. You’re due for a good stretch, finally!

I think he said he’s been skipping batting practice and hitting off a tee instead recently.

  231. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 10:23 pm

Boy ,whoever wanted to trade JROLL over the last month…to you I say..Im glad we didnt

  232. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:25 pm

I know a few of you here felt the same, but I didn’t mind Jimmy’s comments about the fans. His justification wasn’t necessarily false.

If he weren’t slumping at the same time, it would have been a non-issue.

Not to beat a dead horse, but J-Roll is the spark club to this ball club.

  233. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 10:29 pm

Do you think Smith should have sent the runner on Rollins hit?
Maybe they should have taken a chance.

  234. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:31 pm

Not with Church’s arm in right field and Coste running. He would’ve been a dead duck.

  235. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 10:36 pm

    My new nickname

  236. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 10:40 pm

No matter the outcome ..its been a helluva game…we arent giving up.Go Phils

  237. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 10:41 pm

The umpires won them this game with that beltran ccall.

  238. Mike W.

    August 26, 2008 at 10:45 pm

Yep, that’s what it comes down to Choke Utley. What a travesty that such a cool/important game was decided ultimately by a bad call.

  239. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 10:46 pm

Dame Howard and Burrell almost had em…O’well it was a good game.

  240. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 10:47 pm

Choke Utley:Good nickname…I like Chase and all,but he never comes through in the clutch.

  241. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:49 pm

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!

  242. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 10:49 pm

    escpesially this year

  243. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 10:50 pm

    Go Bruntlett….takeTHAT mets fans

  244. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:51 pm

I just got here because I didn’t wanna deal with Mets trolls. What a game. Extra innings. Good try by Ruiz. Man, they need this. They are playing with so much heart.

  245. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 10:51 pm

    what a GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  246. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:51 pm

I’m honestly happy that this also gets Jamie Moyer off the hook, who has really been an unsung hero for us all season. Here we go with extra innings.

  247. Tim Malcolm

    August 26, 2008 at 10:51 pm

    Game of the year.

  248. Brian Michael

    August 26, 2008 at 10:52 pm

    indeed go phils!

  249. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:52 pm

We shoulda already won this if it wasn’t for the umps. Even if we lose can Rollins still get the Ashburn? He turned it around.

  250. Mike W.

    August 26, 2008 at 10:53 pm

game of the year…if we win.

worst game of the year if we lose.

  251. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 10:54 pm

he can get the ashburn if madson doesnt get the jeltz here

  252. Tim Malcolm

    August 26, 2008 at 10:54 pm

Mike: I like your fandom, but either way this goes, game of the year. By far.

  253. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:54 pm

I wouldn’t say it was the worse Mike W. Even if they lose at least we’re seeing a team that is playing with heart and passion.

  254. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 10:54 pm

Definitly one of the best games i’ve seen in awhile…Well here comes Madson to blow it.

  255. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:54 pm

It’s okay, they have Heilman coming in to blow it.

  256. Greg V.

    August 26, 2008 at 10:55 pm

You can’t tease me like this Phils! You have to win this!

  257. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 10:55 pm

Lets keep positive…remember we are into the mets bullpen now

  258. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:55 pm

I gotta go back later tonight and reread this thread.

  259. David, the Mets fan from Queens

    August 26, 2008 at 10:55 pm

“Richie Allen Says: Hey David the Mets fan…not interested in your quasi intelligent bullshit…clear enough?”

The aforementioned statement encapsulates why I believe the world is decadent.

  260. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:55 pm

This is the fire that has been missing for the past couple months. We’ve got to keep this going!

  261. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:56 pm

Man, my adrenaline is pumping so hard. I am so glad I passed on Dark Knight tonight.

  262. Mike W.

    August 26, 2008 at 10:56 pm

From a neutral standpoint, yes, game of year.

From a Phils fan standpoint: if we lose, not only is it the most heartbreaking of the season, it is also partially the umps fault, which makes it even tougher to swallow.

Sidenote: I can’t wait to see Jimmy bat again

  263. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:57 pm

Jimmy 6 for 6?! I’d love to see him do it. Would be even better if it was a triple. Cycle and 6 for 6? Would that be the 1st time in history?

  264. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 10:57 pm

    heartbreaking to lose this, PERIOD!

  265. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:58 pm

They have to have a 1-2-3 inning here. I don’t want to see the top of the order again. They need to win it in the bottom of the 10th.

  266. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 10:59 pm

As I was typing that Scheinder gets a base hit. DP here!!!

  267. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 10:59 pm

Madson has got to find the strike zone. He’s trying to paint corners and missing.

  268. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:00 pm

Man, he looks especially sloppy tonight.

  269. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 11:00 pm

Madson is fucking garbage…Maybe they should just let Lidge go another inning.

  270. Tom

    August 26, 2008 at 11:00 pm

    Madson really stinks!

  271. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 11:00 pm

Whose left in the pen? Romero, Seanez. Anybody else?

  272. Grrrumpy Miner

    August 26, 2008 at 11:01 pm

WOW! Phillies didn’t lay down in the Bot 9th,I’m impressed, and thats not easy.However……..whoever wins this game has earned it plain and simple.I ofer no excuses, the Mets pen blew it and if it costs them tonight,J-Man better reconsider putting Perez or Pelfrey in the pen.BTW are you Phillies fans still boiling J-Roll in oil?

  273. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:02 pm

    YES!!! DP BABY!!!

  274. Tom

    August 26, 2008 at 11:02 pm

    Madson still does stink

  275. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 11:02 pm

Double Play! Now lets go win this game.

  276. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 11:02 pm

They really gotta cap it off here in the bottom of the 10th. I don’t want to see the top of the order again.

  277. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:03 pm

I love how this whole site is throwing Madson and Condrey under the bus all year when they are better than any bullpen pitcher the Mets or Brewers have.

  278. danny

    August 26, 2008 at 11:04 pm

i left at 7-5 to go apt hunting with my gf.. what’d i miss other than the obvious stuff from the gamecast?

  279. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:04 pm

Heilman is in!!! Let’s win this. Rollins needs a triple. 6-6 and the cycle!

  280. Greg V.

    August 26, 2008 at 11:04 pm

I think we need to win it here! And it’s Heilman so we may very well!

  281. Brian Michael

    August 26, 2008 at 11:04 pm

The Ashburn Award is only given out after wins.

  282. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 11:04 pm

Madson I think was off by just a hair. He was around the strike zone but not quite in it. But he got 2 lazy grounders that were important, and that’s what matters.

  283. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 11:05 pm

To David the mets fan ..you need to BE ENCAPSULATED somewhere else.

  284. Jamie

    August 26, 2008 at 11:05 pm

    Sweet! Here comes Heilman!

  285. Tom

    August 26, 2008 at 11:05 pm

They’ve both done well but neither deserves to be in close games unless its this type of situation where were shorrt on arms

  286. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:05 pm

Well, if we lose who gets the Jeltz? Burrell or Moyer?

  287. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:05 pm

    COOOOOOOOOOOOSTE!!!

  288. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 11:05 pm

    YAY COSTE!

  289. danny

    August 26, 2008 at 11:06 pm

someone, anyone, catch me up please.. i was taken away against my will

  290. Phil

    August 26, 2008 at 11:06 pm

Ruiz has his rally cap on again tonight!

  291. Jamie

    August 26, 2008 at 11:07 pm

Phil, we can’t think like that, but I’d say Moyer. However, it will be an Ashburn night, and J-Roll is another clincher.

Anderson is right- the umps are putting a hex on the boys tonight with their shittyness

  292. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 11:08 pm

    Please shut me up!

  293. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 11:08 pm

    Uh he comes Choke Utley.

  294. SJ Mike

    August 26, 2008 at 11:08 pm

J-Roll gave it a good ride there. With them walking Chase, Pat has a good chance to redeem himself here.

  295. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 11:09 pm

Looks like it’ll be up to Pat though.

  296. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 11:11 pm

anybody still want to give pat this big contract?

  297. J-Man

    August 26, 2008 at 11:11 pm

Man it looks like Pats starting to come back to earth.

  298. Jamie

    August 26, 2008 at 11:12 pm

Ouch. Bad night for Pat. He needs to talk to Tatis and Delgado after the game and get the name of their “pharmacists”

  299. Greg V.

    August 26, 2008 at 11:13 pm

And we strand a lead off double!

  300. Grrrumpy Miner

    August 26, 2008 at 11:14 pm

Top of the order foe the Amazins…In the words if Billy Joels “Pressure” “Well, here you are in the 9th,2 men out,3 men on,nowhere to look but inside, where we l respond tptb pressure”

  301. Choke Utley

    August 26, 2008 at 11:18 pm

the umps are handing this game over!

  302. danny

    August 26, 2008 at 11:19 pm

What did I miss? Why did the umps cost us the game?

  303. Greg V.

    August 26, 2008 at 11:20 pm

Fuck this! The umps in this game are on the take!

  304. Phillies Suck

    August 26, 2008 at 11:22 pm

Blame it on the umps! The Phillies are going to lose this game because they s*ck! Bottom line. They can’t beat the Mets and won’t!

  305. Joshua

    August 26, 2008 at 11:23 pm

what did the umps do? I missed it

  306. PhilPhan

    August 26, 2008 at 11:23 pm

    wow wright’s hurt, awesome,

and someone fill me in on the beltran call taht the umps blew

  307. Richie Allen

    August 26, 2008 at 11:23 pm

    We need a homer

  308. Mike W.

    August 26, 2008 at 11:27 pm

PhilPan — Beltran was on 3rd (and a man was on 1st). Tatis hit a groundball that drilled Beltran in FAIR territory. By rule, Beltran is out and hte ball is dead.

The ump froze however, and called the ball foul. All replays showed fair. Tatis – of course – followed up with a homer.

The call cost us at most 3 runs and at least 1.

  309. Brian Michael

    August 26, 2008 at 11:31 pm

great shot of Charlie picking his ear there…

  310. Rob

  375. Phil

    August 27, 2008 at 12:26 am

Werth had a great game too. Had that great play to nail Wright at 2nd. Had 3 singles. Scored a run.

  379. Paul

    August 27, 2008 at 12:26 am

    Bullpen = Ashburn

What was it… 9 scoreless from them?!

There are lots of worthy candidates tonight!

  380. Greg V.

    August 27, 2008 at 12:26 am

I’d give the Ashburn to Coste! Actually, I’d give it to Brett Myers for the most entertaining at bat of the season! This was seriously the strangest game I’ve seen since that double header that ended when the sun was coming up back in ’93. The fact that it turned out the way it did and it was against the Mets made it even better! Games like this are why I’m a baseball fan! GOOD MORNING PHILLIES FANS!

  381. Phillies Suck

    August 27, 2008 at 12:28 am

The Phillies should enjoy being in first for one day! I enjoy this cause when the end of the season comes and the Mets are in the post season you fans will be watching the Mets win the world series.

    August 27, 2008 at 12:29 am

I think the scumbag-Mets fans (not the cool ones) should get the Ashburn for this game… so many fun comments looking back on it.

    Try Mets bullpen sucks.

  389. danny

    August 27, 2008 at 12:31 am

Seriously, we mash the Mets with a lot of tough losses. Remember when we almost came back from 9-1? Lost 10-9?

  390. danny

    August 27, 2008 at 12:32 am

The Mets bullpen couldn’t win the Little League World Series

  391. J-Man

    August 27, 2008 at 12:33 am

Man this was a huge win especially since we gotta face Santana tomorrow.

  393. Mike W.

yay im a fucking philly fan and were still in second place oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

You know, before the Phils coughed up 1st place, I made this comment when the Phils were losing but remained 1 game ahead of the Mets.

Trust me–it’s a dangerous statement to make.

I feel so warm and fuzzy right now.

  395. J-Man

    August 27, 2008 at 12:37 am

Mike W-Kendrick already done warmed up,so like Tom McCarthy was saying it’s unlikely he’ll pitch tomorrow…So we might be getting Hamels tomorrow.

Mets bullpen does suck but if the Phillies are that much better then the Mets why are they neck and neck with them? I will tell you one thing which ever team wins the fans of one team are going to be very unhappy! The Mets fans were last year and you do not want to have that felling!

  398. Phil

    August 27, 2008 at 12:39 am

It’s a shitty situation because he’d be going on 4 days rest with a tired bullpen.

  399. Phil

    August 27, 2008 at 12:39 am

I can’t believe you’re still here trolling after that loss. The Mets just lost in shame.

Look at this Mets Fan still trolling here. He’s such a loser, he can’t even call himself “Mets Fan” or any other name…it’s gotta be “Phillies Suck Says”. Low class – just like most of the Mutts team (David Wright gets a pass).

  405. Mike W.

    August 27, 2008 at 12:45 am

B/C Yalloff is a mets guy now on SNY. He does pregame and post game. He is awful

I won’t get my hopes up for tomorrows game. Just can’t score on Santana at this time of the year.. He’s amazing. But we needed this one for that reason.

  410. danny
