What I'm Thankful For

Cole Hamels’ gorgeous changeup.
How Cole always keeps his cool.
The bubbling gut of the fiery Brett Myers.
The 12-6 curveball.
The second half resurgence.
Acquiring Joe Blanton.
Swatting a no-doubter home run in game four of the World Series.
Poise.
Veteran leadership.
Grizzled pitching — a slow fastball, a slower changeup.
The diving grab and soft toss in game three.
Young heat.
Placing a perfect changeup.
Sticking with the team for 162 games as the final pitcher on roster.
The name Clay.
The name Rudy.
Black belts.
Dim the Lights.
A first half of untouchable proportions.
The left-handed specialist.
Outspoken heat against Bud Selig.
The Savior.
The Savior’s fire.
Chooch. Mother-freakin’ Chooch.
The squib hit.
Catching a gorgeous game.
Clutch.
Blast. Off.
A September to remember.
Another MVP season.
And another MVP season.
And another MVP season.
The best second baseman alive.
Playing on a broken hip.
The throw to home.
Petey Happy.
Running your mouth.
100 wins.
The Brunt.
Gooch.
So.
The Bat.
Machine!
One final double off the wall.
The breakout of the Flyin’ Hawaiian.
A tying home run.
Matt Stairs!
The resurgence of Jayson Werth.
Long legs.
The architect, Wade.
The finisher, Gillick.
Trust the gut.
June Manuel.
Mad Dog, a postseason warrior.
The 96 mph fastball.
Perfection.
Lights Out.
Goodbye.
See ya.
Ninety-two.
Three to one.
Four to one.
Struck.
‘Em.
Out!
Being World Champions of Baseball.

That’s what I’m thankful for this Thanksgiving.

Nicely done. Is it pathetic that you and I have posted on Thanksgiving on our blogs, or a sign of true devotion?

I am basically thankful that as I sit at work this AM is that this afternoon I get to watch the Macys parade that I put on my DVR because all the games today are drek at best.I am also thankful for the Jets because it helps me somewhat of my heartbreak from my Amazins collapse part 2 and 2009 the last game of the regular season the Mets do not face the blind,stinking,greasy,bloated,disgusting,12 sandwich eating, jive turkey marlins I am extremely thankful for that.Other than that, the family is alive and I will spend time with them in which I am most thankful for that and get to wish all of you a nice thanxgiving.

Carson: Perfectly acceptable. BTW, you guys did a phenomenal job with the Valent interview.

Plans for today? I’m going to The Game — Central/Northeast — to see some old friends, then come back for 40 people at my house. A lot of food, a lot of fun.

    Happy Turkey Day, everyone.

I am thankful that even though we went for the lesser talent by getting blanton and he pitched only 6 quality starts out of 16 games. The gods saw fit to make us win in sprite of cheap ownership. one in 28 years is our ralling cry. Now that I am in my fifties and know we won’t win again with montgomery giles involved at least I can die happy on seeing my phillies win.
