Philadelphia Phillies (72-50) at Pittsburgh Pirates (51-71)

Joe Blanton (8-6, 3.86 ERA) vs. Ross Olendorf (11-8, 4.15 ERA)

The Phillies travel to Pittsburgh to face the lowly, last-place Pirates.  In the midst of a 10-game winning streak, the Phillies swept the Pirates in July.  The Pirates are completely different team than they were in July; they’re worse.

Freddy Sanchez, Jack Wilson and Adam LaRoche, and others have all been traded away.  Right now, their centerpiece is rookie Andrew McCutchen, who is batting .284 with an .822 OPS.  He has seven homers and 14 stolen bases.

For some reason, the Phillies do not fair too well at PNC Park.  They are 8-11 there since 2002.  The Phillies have a history of falling to last place teams in the past, and they can’t let that happen during this series.

As hot as Ryan Howard has been, he struggles at PNC Park.  In 14 games, he is batting .159. He has hit the Pirates this season, including a ninth inning, game tying home run against Matt Capps.

The Phillies will give the ball to a hot hand in Joe Blanton.  Since May 26, Blanton is 6-3 with a 2.45 ERA.  He hasn’t been very lucky in the win column, despite eating innings and putting up solid numbers.  Blanton pitched 7.1 innings against the Pirates earlier this year.  He gave up one earned run on four hits.

Ross Olendorf pitched 5.2 innings against the Phillies in July.  He gave up three earned runs on five hits and walked four.

I’ve said it before, monks know how to brew beers and this Belgian Pale Ale is no exception. First it hits you with a apple/pear scent then a complex taste of citrus, caramel, and earthy yeast – all in a creamy buttery consistency. Wow. I hear it goes well with Thai food, but this is certainly one you can drink alone. – By Brian

Without a doubt the Phillies has what it takes to sweep this team. I hope though that they arent also saying “the lowly, last-place Pirates”. While it is a true statement, thinking like that and under estimating a team could spell some trouble. I do recall another phan on one of the other posts saying the Buccos have won 5 of their last 6. Lets hope it stays that way, and they go back to their winning ways.

Phillies play the Pirates who stink, Atlanta is playing San Diego who stink, and Florida is playing the Mets who stink. It will be interesting to see who might lose a couple of games to those losing teams. It will be pretty tough for the Phillies to add to their lead the next few days. I am sort of looking past the Pirates series to the Atlanta series. I hope the Phils don’t do the same (although I hope Atlanta looks past SD!) Maybe Lidge can well in a couple of games against the light hitting Pirates. I hope. Let’s Go Phils!

can we pinch hit for stairs

  9. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 7:23 pm

Well at least guys are getting on base early. May have scored again there even with two outs if Stairs had some more at bats. He is used so rarely it may take an at bat or two to get that timing down.

  10. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 7:25 pm

for the what? 10000000000000000000000th time this year, Phils fail to deliver w/ man on 3rd less than 2 out. BRU-tal.

  35. Terri

    August 25, 2009 at 8:04 pm

They have had a runner on third in each inning.

  36. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:05 pm

Just maybe Blanton can get a 1-2-3 inning. Actually, I would settle for an inning without a player getting past 2nd,

  37. mg52

    August 25, 2009 at 8:05 pm

Even in the hot zone in which he has been, Howard needs to be able to hit or at least foul off some of those breaking balls.

  38. Jeff

    August 25, 2009 at 8:08 pm

Why cant the phillies score w

ith a runner on third with only one out.

  39. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:09 pm

Blanton gets out of ANOTHER jam. The question is, which offense will score with RISP? The offense today has been J-Roll. Utleys getting on, but no one is hitting him in.

  40. Colorado Joe

    August 25, 2009 at 8:10 pm

59 pitches to get through 3 innings. I hope the bullpen can hold this game when they come in earlier than recent games. We have been spoiled by our starting efforts recently. Hopefully Joe can go 6 innings.

Good to see the other team not scoring with a man on third and one out.

  41. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:13 pm

Jeff, why cant the Phillies score with a runner on third and NO outs. This offense can put runs on the board, but alot of those runs are the result of Homers. Werth 3-run dinger in the first the other day, Ruiz same, J-Roll 2 today,

  42. vito corleone

    August 25, 2009 at 8:16 pm

braves game is in the 5th and they dont have a hit yet…..marlins tied the mutts 1-1

  43. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:20 pm

But its top of the 5th for the Mutts bases loaded. I hate games like that. I dont want to see the Mets win, but I really dont want the Fish to win.

  44. Terri

    August 25, 2009 at 8:22 pm

can Joe just have an easy inning?

  45. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Well at least they went through an inning without a runner past 2nd. Baby steps? Wonder how the bullpen is feeling.

  46. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:25 pm

Is Blanton due for another Homer like the playoffs last year?

  47. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 8:27 pm

Oh well Cant expect J-Roll to hit everything and get ALL the runs. though he has all of them now.

  48. Colorado Joe

    August 25, 2009 at 8:30 pm

Nelson Figueroa was in two games for the Mets this weekend against the Phils. He is now in the 5th inning against the Marlins. Surprising that they didn’t give him a few days rest before asking him to start.

I am laughing pretty hard at requesting mlb.com to stop playing the awful version of take me out to the ballgame between innings. I am pretty sure I had a nightmare that included “Hey Ump!” in a recent night of fitful sleep. 93. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 9:40 pm

I understand a starting pitcher giving up 3 runs to even the Pirates, but our offense only scoring 2 runs? Now we have the bottom of the lineup in the 9th. So the question is, will the Offense be able to finally hit the “Phillie killer” that was referenced in the other post. If not, we may only take 1 game in this series against the “lowly last place Pirates”.

  94. mg52

    August 25, 2009 at 9:45 pm

We keep asking but no one from the team is answering: where are Charlie Manuel and Milt Thompson in all this? Blanton did not have his best game, but it was not terrible, and there should be more run support for him tonight. As Tom McCarthy mentioned, this team is over five hundred at home. The mound seems fairly high and some of the pitching is good. Still, the RISP dilemma is really getting old. This has been an on-and-off problem for years.

Everybody get ready for the Brad lidge EXPERIENCE!

  127. Colorado Joe

    August 25, 2009 at 10:02 pm

Looking back on the successful 2009 season for the Phillies, one big moment was Lidge finding his better stuff in a late August game against the Pirates. His first one two three inning in awhile rebuilt his confidence and once again the Phillies were able to count on him in the playoffs. (At least I hope)

  159. Phils Phan

    August 25, 2009 at 10:10 pm

    No, no, folks.

Listen to Lidge. He’s almost there. He knows he is doing something wrong. He just needs to work it out.

How many wasted victories. I don’t expect perfection. I expect more likely than not. He doesn’t even provide that.

  160. Colorado Joe

    August 25, 2009 at 10:10 pm

ugh! I hope Myers rehab goes well. Myers is really the only one who can take over the closer role. He was successful 2 years ago. tough loss. I don’t even feel like watching the end of the SD – Atlanta game now. ugh.

  161. Ed R.

    August 25, 2009 at 10:11 pm

    F this. I am done.

I swear to God I will not watch another 9th inning until Lidge is removed as closer. All that work to battle back and for what? For Lidge to once again give it up. When will Charlie stop letting the rest of the team down? That is exactly what he is doing by throwing Lidge out there. He blew a save to possibly the worst team in baseball.

  162. Manny

    August 25, 2009 at 10:12 pm

Brett Myers WILL HAVE to be our savior… I can see it.

  163. DC

    August 25, 2009 at 10:12 pm

Enough is enough. Lidge is a one year wonder who now sucks. 9 blown saves. Atlanta is about to comeback and win and Florida won. We need a closer now or we are going nowhere in the playoffs.

  164. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 10:12 pm

This would be why In dont want to talk about the Playoffs. We have a closer who is CLINGING to 2008. 7 over the Marlins, and more than likely 6 against the Braves.

  165. Paul

    August 25, 2009 at 10:12 pm

I’ve been patient with Lidge all year, thinking he is going to figure it out.

But he has to be taken out of the closers role, I’m sick of watching him blow games. How many more wins would the Phils have if he has only blown 3 or 4 games instead of what, 8!? The Phils would have a 10+ game lead.

    UGH!!!

  166. Geoff

    August 25, 2009 at 10:12 pm

I think they will do something after tonight. Ive been defneding Lidge all year. BUt this is it. I cant defend him anymore. Youre stuck with him for a while, but the first step is to place him back on the DL and waiver-trade for a late inning relief pitcher. Then you work Lidge back in in September. Wagner wasnt going to come here. There has to be someone who can help us for the rest of the season who can close games. Myers – who knows.

  167. PGD

  170. Andrew

    August 25, 2009 at 10:13 pm

Billy wagner to the red sox who are after us in claiming ?
So we let him get past us?
    this is truly pathetic.
    BOC
I had a bad feeling. LOL
this is the werth shit that kills me. OK just a decent throw and the guys out by 5 feet
I remember that mets game when he just stood there with the ball as Delgado rounded the bases. Delgado didnt even care he wasnt even runnign hard.
I digress this is 100% on the arsonist lidge.
But this is why i dont liek Werth in future reference
I like him hitting and fielding when the game isnt on the line. he is GREAT 95% of the time but when it really matters I want him not hitting or fielding.

  171. therookie300

NOW do we look for another closer, Chollie? Or do we just keep running this r-tard out there in the 9th hoping he finally starts acting like a major league closer? This is ridiculous. No chance for a repeat if lights on lidge is our closer. NINE blow saves before Sept. 1st. Un-eff-ing believable. I wonder if Chollie has a plan B?

  177. nm

    August 25, 2009 at 10:22 pm

either you can get 3 outs or you can’t…it shouldn’t be that hard to understand. obviously he can’t

charlie shouldn’t be using lidge for 4 straight days anyway

  178. Geoff

    August 25, 2009 at 10:23 pm

Wagner wasnt coming here, wake up man. The Mets wont do that. Dont dare rely on Myers at all. If he comes back GREAT but dont hold your breath.

The problem is they have NO OTHER OPTIONS. They are totally and completely stuck. THIS IS THEIR GUY – HE HAS TO BE WHAT WE KNOW HE CAN BE. They need to get some bullpen help in there – prob not gonna get a closer, but someone to help the cause.

McKuteon is MAD good though, but it was the fact that he got nobody out tonight.

  179. NJ

    August 25, 2009 at 10:23 pm

WHAT THE HELL WAS CHARLIE THINKING PITCHING LIDGE FOR A 4TH STRAIGHT DAY??? Say what you will about Lidge but thats just piss-poor management.

This ones on Charlie 100% for an indefencible decision.

  180. FanInFla

    August 25, 2009 at 10:24 pm

They have to go with a closer by committee approach at this point. Whoever has the hot hand in the 8th, should go back out for the 9th.

  181. Mike N

    August 25, 2009 at 10:24 pm

let Madson do it. I know, I know, he’s not done well as a closer. but what, is he going to be worse? I’d go for chan ho too. or Myers. Or JC. Or Walker. JUST NOT BRAD LIDGE ANYMORE

  182. Andrew

    August 25, 2009 at 10:24 pm

    Hoffman Qualls Bell
there is some guy named Johnson who is closing now for the Orioles.

    Anything.

    Chan ho. Pedro. Madsen again.
    how about Capps?
How about anyone. Because this is a disgrace now.
Lidge is doing more long term damage to himself now than help.
If he will ever be fixed running him out again and again to fail isnt going to work

  183. Caleb

    August 25, 2009 at 10:26 pm

Let’s not attack Werth here..I will always remember that time he saved park from blowing the lead and park made a gesture in gratitude towards him.

  184. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 10:26 pm

Andrew, the funny thing is, Werth actually has a better Avg. with RISP than Vic. Werth has maybe cost us two games. Give it up man. Face it, you hate him period. Dont try this, I like him when the game isnt on the line crap. This is ALL ON over the Ledge, oops I mean Lidge.

  185. DC

    August 25, 2009 at 10:26 pm

I don’t want Brad Lidge on this team anymore. I don’t care if we owe him three more years on his contract. I want him out of here. HE SUCKS! A one year wonder who is the absolute weak link on this 2009 team. Charlie’s biggest problems managing over the years has been a) knowing when to say when with players and 2) knowing when to take a pitcher out of the game. When Lidge gave up that base hit to start the inning he should of been pulled. If not that, then definitely after that wild pitch.

  186. Caleb

    August 25, 2009 at 10:27 pm

    Steven Register for closer.

  187. mg52

    August 25, 2009 at 10:27 pm

The Werth error was unacceptable. Lidge has indeed suffered from bad defense, but why put in a guy who apparently is a bad omen? He also did give up a leadoff hit once more and threw that slider that forced Ruiz to try backhanding it. Charlie is not being vindicated here. If I saw Lidge tonight, I would walk up and say, “Tough loss, Mr. Lidge. Relax tonight, then talk to Charlie and ask him for a break. It’s better for the team, and you shouldn’t have to suffer like this.”
Maybe none of the other relievers are bona fide closers, but they all have enjoyed better numbers and better results in their respective innings. As tough as it may be to work around, they might have to designate no one specific as the closer – whoever is throwing well in the eighth or whoever has gone the longest without giving up a run should just pitch the ninth. It might not produce lights-out performances, but I can’t see how there would be fewer blown saves than there have been with Lidge.

  188. Paul

    August 25, 2009 at 10:29 pm

Park or Madson should be closing now.

  189. Andrew

    August 25, 2009 at 10:29 pm

So waagner wont waive his no trade to come here?
Why let him goto the red sox? so the mets get 2 players to be named?

If the phillies had a chance to claim him they needed to.
now we may be facing him in the WS

Which is a joke i know if we dont get a closer

  190. Brian of CO

    August 25, 2009 at 10:29 pm

I dont get Charlie. Eyre goes out, gets 2, then walks ONE and he yanks him to put Lidge in. Lidge gives up two freaking singles and nothing. How long until Charlie says “he is our closer” again? Or did he already say it?

  191. mg52

    August 25, 2009 at 10:29 pm

    more* blown saves.

  192. cxl72

    August 25, 2009 at 10:30 pm

IMO Brett Myers has his velocity back and will be our October closer. Charlie will eventually pull the plug on Lidge….just like he did with Moyer, Kendrick and Eaton. It just takes an awfully long time.

  193. nm

    August 25, 2009 at 10:30 pm

  198. Andrew

    August 25, 2009 at 10:34 pm

    I like Werth no hatred.
He is a part of a World Champion and a big time contributer here.
He lacks baseball common sense. He makes dumb plays at the most stupid times. He isnt a guy you want up with the game on the line.

i had forgotten the old man used lidge 4 straight.
one of them non save situations?

Its a mess. But to have a guy this fragile going out 4 days in a row?
    shameful.

  199. cxl72

    August 25, 2009 at 10:34 pm

Werth gives the Phils gold glove caliber defense. Check out fangraphs for 2007 and 2008 data at the bottom of the page for “VALUE” under “FIELDING”. In 2009 he’s had some plays but he’s been great defensively for a long time.

Blame Lidge. Every ball the Pirates hit was nailed.

Throw some blame Ibanez’s way who couldnt get that sac fly in the 8th.

  200. nm

    August 25, 2009 at 10:35 pm

    I agree with NJ.

  202. Ed R.

    August 25, 2009 at 10:36 pm

Try Walker out at closer. Park is so valuable in his undefined role where he pretty much comes in and puts out fires or saves the pen from being taxed by pitching multiple innings. We need that.

Walker is the only guy with closer experience who does not have a set spot in the rotation. Make the switch now, and when Myers is ready to go, hopefully by the end of the week then send Lidge to the minors or the florida penal league where he can try and get someone out.

Letting in 3 runs without recording an out? I could do that for 1/100th of the price.

  203. Brian of CO

Where the hell is our pitching coach in all of this? DId he not mention to Charlie that just because Lidge had a few decent innings over the weekend that he shouldn’t push his luck? Like what the hell, isn’t he supposed to know his pitchers? I know little league coaches that don’t make mistakes of this magnitude.

  208. Andrew

    HA
FSN pitts has all these goofy walk off game hit promos.
At least we all know now which will be the leading one for the rest of the year.
Kent Tekulve looks so old. I remember him with the Phils. guess I am getting old.
Tme to tune away from the phillies and forget about this latest Lidge Abortion. How many more will we have to endure. tonights wasnt against a contender. If its ATL or FLA then its even worse.

    Werth is gold glove caliber
He is a 5 tool player.

Remember the playoffs last year? how many times did he make base running errors?
He lacks baseball sense that people like Utley are born with.
Great player I love him but he does goofy shit liek holding the ball while slow ass delgado jsut walked around the bases.

As for him not getting hits late in games when the phils need a run. He is probably pressing too hard.

No we have to go against a pitcher how has always been problems for the offense. Maybe Charlie will apologize to the team. Not likely. I sure hope the offense can hit the “Phillie killer” if not, we will lose the series against this team. Lets hope we dont get swept.

How much longer do we have to deal with this? Why o why
does Chollie continue to try to make Lidge whole again. He sucks, he has lost it – this team was 20 games below 500%.

Why do we have to wait until the deciding game of the first post-season series to know that we are not going anywhere in 2009. As long as Lidge is out there – there is NO FEAR from the other side! Help me Dipsy – What a great top of 9th comeback to be BLOWNNNNN by our closer. What in the hell would be wrong with giving Chan-Ho a shot. I’m sick – sick of Chollie and sick of the people that come on here and tell us that Lidge is gonna find it. Why was he out there tonight after four straight games except Chollie wants to show us that he is in charge.

That’s it, I’m officially done with Brad Lidge. If he can’t close down the cellar-dwelling Pirates, how do we expect him to finish off potent offenses in the post-season? IR him, cut him, and pay him next year to not play. Something is not right in his head, and there is no reason to think it will be fixed any time soon. He’s officially Jose Mesa bad. Cut ties. He’s done. Luckily there are still a few days left in the waiver trade period, hopefully the Phils can grab SOMEONE who can close or help with the back end of the bullpen. Am I over-reacting? I don’t think so; it’s gotten to the point where anything less than a 4-run lead in the 9th is a loss. Pitiful and unacceptable.

Mitch Williams is a guy I usually concur with. Tonight, he may have been off the mark. I know that Williams was once a closer himself, but it is too late in the year for wholesale changes in his performance to be made. I would like to see Lidge turn it around and it’s still remotely possible, but it probably isn’t worth taking that chance. If Lidge could correct the errors that he has made, why wouldn’t he have done so already? The point is, it’s time to give him at least a break from this role.
He has blown saves against good, average and bad teams. He does not look confident. And he has given up lots of home runs, many of which aren’t even close to staying in the yard – even when he does not blow the save. I defend Lidge as a person, and he may be a good closer again in the future. Right now, though, it’s just too painful to watch him go out there like this.

Charlie was a bad manager to me before last year. I would be balistic and pissed off on a regular basis. Stuff like using your closer 4 days in a row would do it. Why was lidge in yesterday in a non save situation?
He does get his players to play well for him. Before I start riding the old man again the phils will have to not make the playoffs or lose to the Rockies in round 1 or something.
I mean if the phils just ran away with it that would be boring. yes?
    LOL

moyer back to the rotaion and stick pedro in the bullpen. try madson again. this is so bad. 9 big blown saves. we could be 30 games over .500 braves lost. we could of had another game on them. plus florida won. how do we beat all these teams and lose to the pirates. the way they celebrated made me sick. lidge is a punk ass.

Charlie is a great manager. He keeps the ballclub loose and relaxed, and knows when to talk to the team when things aren’t going right. And he will eventually pull the plug on 2009 Lidge if he believes that we won’t be going anywhere in the postseason with him as our closer.

We have the luxury to keep throwing Lidge out there (I agree however that today was a bad move after consecutive appearances) and hope that he turns it around. If he can’t do it by September, they’ll figure out an alternative from within the organization.

Horrible loss, but please give credit where it’s due… Charlie Manuel’s attitude allows players to love playing for him… and that is reflected in our success in back-to-back-to-back years (hell, even since ’05).

I agree with Andrew’s last point. What Philadelphia team makes it easy for the fans. On 9/10 last year I think we were 3.5 games out of first. Our upcoming schedule is easy and we got another strong outing from our starter. We have 1 major problem….Lidge….and it can be fixed.

The Braves losing takes a little of the sting, and complete numbness away from losing to one of the worst teams in the league. Padres are not really a good team either. Pirates are now 6-4 in their last 10 (5 of 6 I believe in their last 6). Padres are 3-7 in their last 10. Maybe the Braves losing to the Padres is worse than this by just a little, or at least its just as bad.

Jack Daniels says: I’m not strong enough to easy the pain… The Bridge to Lidge lead to a parade in 2008. In 2009 it leads to a Greek Tradegy. Charlie and his bone headed moves strikes again. It’s been said a million times, but what did ummm, ummm Charlie expect would happen. We should be up by 14 games in the east at this point. Here’s a look at what the Phils record would be if Lidge had no blown saves this year. The Phillies would be 81-42. 2 blown saves=79-44, 4 blown saves=77-46. Red Sox Manager Terry Fran(the guy from Step Father) has a 2 days in a row limit with his closer Pap. I’m sure he has made some exceptions, but you get the point. Using Lidge tonite was suicide. And it’s unfair to Brad Lidge. He’s being setup for failure because you can’t properly judge Lidge in these spots. He should’ve left Chan Ho in on Mon or asked him to close tonite. Umm, umm Charlie did neither. I said the same thing on Sunday. But why didn’t Ben Fran start in LF field against Oliver Perez a lefty in the classic spot “day game after a nite game?” And when is he going to stop batting three lefties in row. I love Charlie, but some of his decision are bleeping special-ed like. We all laughed last October when we looked back on the Lidge for M.Bourne deal.We have the ring(I’ll take it of course), but Houston has by far the better player. And Charlie refuses to break up the 3 lefties in row in his lineup consistantly. Unless we get extremely lucky on a waiver deal or Brett pulls a miracle there will be NO REPEAT FOR US…. So very sad.

the same thing is,was,or probably will be said after this game…lidge will say his stuff is as good as last year and cholly will say lidge is still the closer…lidge is stuff is not good because 9 blown save is beyond acceptable and any other team would of pulled lidge from closer role long before now but dumb cholly still sees lidge as the guy from last year when that guys a distant memory.

Everything’s already been said…no outs record…three runs scored after a hell of a comeback for us in the top of the inning.

I really don’t know what to say anymore. Mitch made a good point when he said we have no one else…but against the Braves, the closer by committee seemed like a damn good idea, with Eyre taking the first two then Lidge coming out and getting the final one.

I really just can’t figure out what this team is going to do. Everyone’s said it…Lidge was one of the major cogs in last years WFC season. But now, it’s plain to see…he’s not gonna show up this year. And anyone who is STILL saying “he’ll come around” is off their rocker because it’s basically September, sweetheart, he should’ve been around two months ago.

But as to what this team is going to do…I have no idea. I’m partial to the closer by committee idea more than picking one particular guy for the closer, but there’s no guarantee that’ll work. There’s no guarantee anything will work…expect for ’08 Lidge. Unfortunately it seems like he’s decided not to join us for this season.

I can’t take the heartburn every 9th inning when we’re up by one, two runs and he comes in. I can’t take the heartbreak when all our hard work goes for naught because of one man. Sure Werth should’ve had him at the plate. They would’ve just won with one out on the board instead of two, and with no help from Lidge.

I wish I could be sure a game is in the bag after we make a comeback late. But I can’t. Because one man says that one man “is his guy”. And until that ends, until we see some changes on that front…we’re going to be a very sad fanbase. A very mad fanbase. And very mad…at one person.

And we might even be very mad because our team is not in October baseball.

I don’t wanna fathom that concept…but tonight’s heartbreaker, which, again, is on the hands of one man, made that concept very real…to this fan, at least.

    See you cats tomorrow.

    I agree with Art

But firing Charlie? What are you insane? Blame him, absolutely. Hopefully he will wake the hell up now and take him out the closer role for the remaining of the season.

I honestly like the sound of Myers as closer, but right now the ball should be handed to Madson. Madson has been probably the most consistant all year…So has Park.

    Park- Setup man
    Madson- Closer

Until Romero, and Myers return from the DL

Amen……… George. I still can’t believe he had Chan Ho up and choose not to us him. I know it’s only one game. But Charlie is looking more and more like Andy Reid because of his mind blowing stupid moves. I know some may think I’m over reacting, but Charlie’s decision tonite felt like Andy Reid’s dec to punt on 4th and 15 with two minutes or so left in that play-off game against the Saints…

And why does everyone say Pedro to close?

Has he ever had experience in the closing position?

I didn’t think so…but I could be wrong…but that just sounds like a bad idea. He’s not even doing that well in the starting role…
