sign making is my specialty, consider it done.

I was going to make a Bruntlett for MVB (Most Valuable Beard) sign also.

    Too rich for my blood.

I don’t want to give my money to the Mets anyway. I am pretty sure Saturday’s game is to celebrate the ’69 Mets. Enjoy the ceremonies.

Also, here is a promo code for the Phillies. REDCROSS- half price tickets for the 400 level for Sept 15th against the Nats and Sept 29 against the Stros.

Looks like it’s going to be Happ vs. Livan if he’s even still in their rotation by then. Should be a good matchup, considering Happ’s MLB best road ERA.

I wouldnt really want any sign that supports Bruntelett. Why make him think we like him. But a sign for the standings is a great idea.

Wish I could go guys but I will be in south jersey surfing, not a bad alternate. I was at the game when the phillies swept the mets, hopefully this series will result in the same LETS GO PHILS!!!

Speaking of Bruntlett, the guy I want as his replacement, Jamey Carroll has his average up to .306(.373 against lefties). I wonder why the Indians haven’t put him on waivers yet since his contract is up after the season?

I have never seen a team win the world series and have the team and fan base still be so insecure. Please shed some light.

  9. Brian Michael

    August 18, 2009 at 11:41 am

I don’t think anyone is insecure. We know the Phillies are legit contenders.

Unrelated, we also get satisfaction from Mets fans being miserable.

COME ON!!! That’s are ceremony for our 1969 team! YOU BETTER NOT MAKE A SCENE DURING THE CEREMONY!

Wow, running away with first place and still concerned about the Mets. Typical Phillies fans.

  12. Benito Musselini

    August 18, 2009 at 12:05 pm

Have some damn respect Adolf Hitler. Kids go to these games and all the phillies fans want to do is curb stomp met fans and make it an unenjoyable time for everyone. Congratulations on your World Championbship it was about time, but celebrate in your own damn park, let us heckle our players

  13. You Suck

    August 18, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Mets fans should dump some beer over these Phillies fans that’re attending this game. Maybe they won’t cry as much as their CF did.

Holy cow, what a bunch of poor winners. Really, nothing better to do than try to make people feel worse than they already do? Karma’s a bitch, especially for no class pieces of trash like (some) Phillies fans. Making signs to point out the standings – wow, you can read a newspaper. Congrats.

  19. Joe

    August 18, 2009 at 2:32 pm

Yeah haha can’t just enjoy being ahead in first place, have to still be concerned with the Mets. It’s really pathetic and why the rest of the country shits on you guys. You’re the worst fans in the world. Reyes, Beltran, Wright, Delgado, Maine, Perez, Putz, Wagner all out this year. Let’s take away Rollins, Utley, Howard, Ibanez, Myers (only one you’ve actually lost), Hamels, Lidge, and Madson. See where you’d be in the standings. Pathetic losers. Go Marlins.

  20. Waaah

    August 18, 2009 at 2:35 pm

suck it up Mets fans…if the roles were reversed, you clowns would be jammin up our message boards with your filth….you guys are a pathetic after thought…i ALMOST feel bad for you…injuries to star players? check…GM makes ass of himself repeatedly? check..a whole squadron of mental midgets? check.

if you havent noticed, phils fans travel well…wake me up when youre competitive again.

  21. Joe

    August 18, 2009 at 2:36 pm

And I love that there are more comments from Mets fans on this post than by Philly fans. Phuck you guys. Karma is indeed a bitch. You guys have done a lot of crying over the 100+ years of winning only twice, must be nice to win once in your lifetime.

  22. Joe

    August 18, 2009 at 2:38 pm

10,000 losses. That’s all. That’s a whole lot of losing for people to deal with, so when they win once, they think they’re hot shit. Just always remember: 10,000 Losses!

  23. Enjoy Vick

    August 18, 2009 at 2:43 pm

We do suck it up, on a daily basis. And I never waste my time baiting other fans, rooting for my own team is good enough, good or bad, win or lose.

“Phils fans travel well” – not sure what that even means, but if you are trying to imply that a boisterous, drunk group of 200 people are representative of how classy your fans and your city is – once again, congratulations. No matter what, at the end of the day, a poor winner is a poor winner. No class, no matter how you look at it.

Run along boys, recess is over.

It’s ok to be jealous….but dont sweat it football season is right around the corner.

look, injuries destroyed your season, no doubt….but Joe, come on now…we all know the Mets have been the laughingstock of the league for years…see: collapse, ’07; collapse, ’08, late night firings, ’08; GM calling out reporters, ’09; medical staff that couldnt diagnose a cold, ’09…youknowwhatimsayyinnnnn?????

  25. Enjoy Vick

    August 18, 2009 at 2:51 pm

You’re right – can’t compete with that kind of witty response.

Enjoy your team, they look great, wish we had more guys like them. Still, no excuse for a bunch of a-holes to make a trip solely for the purpose of trying to start trouble in another team’s city/stadium.

  26. Phillies Suck!!

    August 18, 2009 at 2:57 pm

youre right…i forgot it was “a-holish” of baseball fans to plan a trip to see their team play in an opponents park thats not far away….correct me if im wrong, but i believe metsblog ran an entire campaign last year to invade citizens bank park….there are PLENTY of jort wearin mets fans here at every game…its part of the rivalry….

im with you…im not down for kickin met fans when theyre down….i just remember the last two off seasons after your big acquisitions of santana and k rod met fans flooding phils message boards acting like they had won the world series already….so i guess youre right…karma IS a bitch.

Hey guys…he’s right football season is right around the corner. Can I come to the Mets game too? Their pinstripes remind me prison bars, it feels like home. Also, Shane Victorino kinda looks like this Daschund I used to beat…err…know. I hope I catch a HR, but they might want me to throw it back….I’d be afraid one of the Mets fans would intercept it before it got to the field. Hey at least I’m still the classiest person in Philly….besides of course that walrus who coaches me. Oh, wait I forgot…I have to pretend to love Jesus and care about animals that day so that the commish will let my felon a$$ make millions again. But at least Donovan likes me…I hope Rush does.

    August 18, 2009 at 3:12 pm

To the misguided Mets trash on this board:

Let’s be straight here. The Phillies and our fans have not been concerned about your team since that 3 game ass whopping that the Phillies lied on you to end your season. You are 12 games back, not even in the rear view mirror.

The only reason that we are concerned with your joke of a team is because we have a 4 game series with you this weekend. That is it. No matter the result your AA team can finish their World Series this weekend and go back to folding like the cheap tent that the New York Mess franchise has been since the end of 2006 (and that is being kind). I have no sympathy for the scum trolls that come here or come to our ballpark to start trouble.

  33. Bob

    August 18, 2009 at 3:14 pm

This trash is coming from the same fans who cheered Chad Pennington’s being injuried on the field and threw iceballs at Charger players and coaches.

Philadelphia is the armpit of our country. Nah, instead, make that the crotch hairs of America. Philadelphia isn’t worthy of being compared to an armpit. Armpits > Philadelphia. That’s why people from all over the world travel to see New York, and people from other parts of Pennsylvania like to stay away from Philadelphia. Shittiest city in our otherwise beautiful country.

I see how pathetic life is to be a Mets fan. We havent seen any of you scum in months.

If any fanbase deserves the last 3 years it is fans of the Mets.

LOL how is it down there? It’s fun for my fans and my baseball team to look down on all of you.

I am not ashamed to be a mets fan, as we have had a down season for obvious reasons…

Pathetic is “Vick is an Eagle, hide your beagle …

as far as yanks & Phils…you guys were a fluke and PHILLY will have to wait another 25 years to win anything again and the Yankees are out dated.

I wonder why any of you scum aren’t talking any baseball and just trashing the city of Philly?

Think about this for a second: YOUR team has one of the top 3 pitchers in the game and you choked in 2008 and are 12 games back in 2009.

I would be bitter too if we had a team across our town that was my step-daddy.

you couldn’t pay me to live in Queens, I’m sorry.

a fluke???? phils are closing in on their 3rd straight playoff appearance…make all the excuses you want but since Yadier Molina…(Yadier Molina!) crushed your dreams in 2006, its been all downhill for you and all gravy for us…yeah going 11-2 in a postseason run is a real fluke….so flukey that its happening again! call the fluke police we need an explanation for all this fluky flukiness.

look, enough is enough…you dont like us…we dont like you…if sports is a ‘what have you done for me lately’ business, then the phils and their fans have held bragging rights three years running…and until the mets do something about it on the field instead of running their mouths, that wont change anytime soon…and because your team has let you down so much and because omar minaya is barely smarter than a 5th grader and because the wilpons got fleeced by bernie madoff, the only thing fans are left to do is either go into hiding or take lame shots at phils fans.

i couldnt handle getting into this back and forth crap all season…which is why its so awesome that you trolls come out for your whoopings only when matt cerrone provokes you to…enjoy lamenting what could have been with Ollie Perez vs. Derek Lowe tonight

Hey you are right football season’s coming around so the Giants can beat you convicts more than we already have. Last year’s loss to you guys was a fluke and we’re ready to prove it. And by the way McNabb and Vick sounds like a dangerous comination…..on the streets.

  54. HoagieHater

    August 18, 2009 at 7:09 pm

Cmon fellow Mets fans. Lets leave these poor fellows alone – they’re not very intelligent and will keep spewing the same babbling rants at you all day. Also a warning to any Mets fan here who may be going to Citi Field the day these “people” are planning their trip into THE city: try not walking behind them – many Phils fans haven’t truly been in a real “city” before because there aren’t any down around by where they live so they’ll often stop suddenly while walking in NYC and gawk like retarded tourists. At the concession stand, you may hear one say something like “Are you done the ketchup? I wanna put some on my hoagie!” Don’t worry if you hear this – it’s not you – they actually think its okay to leave out prepositions like “with” after the word done. And by Hoagie, they mean sub or sandwich – its just some retarded thing they picked up through this gay store called Wawa, which they all suck the dick of if you bring it up in a conversation.

  55. waaah

August 18, 2009 at 10:43 pm i need to remind you that all of you are trolling on a phillies blog?? i love a good old fashioned pissin contest with jealous babies but you guys arent even good with the insults…come on, step your games up! these last three jokes dont even make sense!

lets see…ill miss fred armisen doing gov paterson on saturday night live…cause hes blind and all..last time i checked i was in giants stadium cheering my eagles to a dominating playoff win in your house…YEAH convenience stores named wawa suck!!! dirty bodegas rule!

and theres another win in the books…see ya this weekend!

  56. Johnny Mac

    August 18, 2009 at 11:03 pm

Wahhh, why don’t you take your own advice and STEP YOUR OWN GAME UP instead of coming at a team deceimated by injuries. You beat up on a AAA team this year, lose the season series to us last year. The Met’s players say nothing about the Phils, but the Phils can’t stop thinking about us.

As for Phils fans traveling well, lets see how many Phils fans were traveling in 2004.

  57. Joe

    August 18, 2009 at 11:37 pm

    All I know is:

Phillies, 126 years in existence, 2 titles.
Mets: 47 years in existence, 2 titles.
Phillies: Most losses of any pro sports franchise.

It’s been a sorry century and a quarter for your franchise. The Phillies have been around for ~3 times as long as the Mets, with the same amount of titles. The Phillies are quite possibly the worst franchise in professional sports. So you win one title, and think you’re hot shit. Remember that your team is regarded as one of the, if not the, worst pro sports franchise.

  58. Joe

    August 18, 2009 at 11:38 pm

Phillies: 1 WS Title every 63 years.

Mets: 1 WS Title every 23 years.

    Big, big difference.

Man would a 4 game sweep be sweet this weekend! Not sure if that will happen, since it is tough to sweep any team for 4 games.

Some of you Mets fans talk like you are the gold standard for baseball franchises, you are not.

I find it comical that the city of Philadelphia is getting trashed when alot of you probably live in Queens or Brooklyn.

Have fun with your rebuilding project.

Your team is so bad that we dont care about what you do. When your team can beat the Phillies on the field when it matters then come talk to us. Until then get out of here and watch your Jets flop to a 7-9 season. Watch the Eagles beat the Giants again.
