Vote for Polanco – Phillies Nation

Vote for Polanco

It will only take a minute – but it can make all the difference. Please take a moment to vote for the Phillies as representatives at this year’s All-Star game in Anaheim.

Sure, not every Phillie deserves to be an All-Star this season, but vote for him anyway. It’s the duty of every Phillies fan.

Most importantly, Placido Polanco needs your votes to hold on to the starting third base position over the Mets’ David Wright. So while you’re at it, vote for all the rest of the Phils.

I’m sorry , but I’m SO against this type of thing, for the integrity of the game.

The fact that Polanco is ahead of Wright or Rolen is a joke.

That fact that Utley is leading the voting at second is also a joke.

    Vote for the best players.

What about Werth? Isn’t he 4th? And with Heyward on the DL.. doesn’t that automatically send him to the starting lineup? Let’s keep Werth in it.

Also, let’s hope that Utley’s thumb injury is not serious… I’d hate to see him miss the All-Star game.

I disagree. If MLB wanted the best players at the All-Star game, then fan voting wouldn’t exist. The All-Star game was meant to be an exhibition for the fans…and fandom is no doubt parochial.

I would admit that now that WS home-field advantage is the prize for winning, it less of an exhibition, but until MLB changes the rules, I say go for it. It shows which team’s fans are the most active, and that can be legitimately rewarded.

Also, while I do think Utley and Polanco are heading to the DL, I’ve stopped trusting the unsubstantiated ESPN talking heads a long time ago. Stay tuned for the official announcement.

    Can anybody say CODY RANSOM.

He’s not Utley, Polanco, Sandberg or Schmidt..

BUT….didn’t he fill in very nicely last year for A-Rod??

So our lineup now becomes J-roll, Shane, Werth/Raul, Howard, Werth/Raul, Chooch, Ransom/Dobbs, Castro?

Like really?.. this is a shame a pathetic that a guy like David Wright who leads the NL in RBIs and is on a MVP run not be a starter in the All Star Game.. I can name 4 other 3rd basemen to make it over Polanco.. Come on.. keep it real!!..

It would be a disgrace.. I for one want the best team out there so my team can have home field advantage.. maybe this is why the NL has lost so many times in the All Start game recently..

This post is an absolute joke. I despise the Phillies but I can look past our differences for the good of the National League. Dont you want home field advantage for the world series? I mean cmon, I’m not giving Luis Castillo votes over Chase Utley just because he wears Mets colors. This post is straight ignorant. If Polanco and Wright were equal in production this year, then I can forgive you giving the nod to your own player. But the numbers are not even close, so do the WRIGHT thing and vote for David. And whoever the hell posted this thing, should own up to it and make a new post saying you were delirously blided by your Philly homerism and got caught up in the Polanco movement. Placido is a joke, you as fans prolly dont even like him, so why the fuck would you want him to represent the NL vs the hated AL? Get a grip

Mark, Who would be better than Utley at 2nd? The only person you could possibly compare him to is Pedroia who is obviously not in the NL.

Well, and Robinson Cano, who’s having a monster season and is also in the AL.

I guess Brandon Phillips is having a pretty solid season, but not noticeably better than Utley’s.
