Gameday: Mets (16-13) vs. Phillies (14-16)

New York Mets (16-13) at Philadelphia Phillies (14-16)

Miguel Batista (0-1, 6.92) vs. Joe Blanton (3-3, 2.83)

Time: 7:05 Citizens Bank Park
TV: CSN
Weather: Showers, 63
Media: Twitter and Facebook

Mike Rizzo was fined. So that’s fun.

As for tonight’s game, Carlos Ruiz moves up to the 5-spot in the order. He has beenĀ  their most consistent – and most awesome – offensive player this year. So it appears that Charlie Manuel wants to put him in a situation to drive in runs. The bottom of the order is hurting for some production, however. Pete Orr gets the start at second base because Manuel likes his bat better right now. Can’t fault him for that move.

How about that Joe Blanton. He’s coming off the best start of his Phillies career. Can he keep it up? This is a different situation; it’s not getaway day like it was last week in Atlanta after an 11-inning game in which 28 runs were scored.

The Phillies will see Miguel Batista. If they can’t score runs off this guy, feel free to be pissed. In his only start of the season, Batista allowed six runs in 3 2/3 innings. His ERA is up near seven. The Phillies MUST tee off on him tonight.

Lineup: Rollins SS, Pierre LF, Victorino CF, Pence RF, Ruiz C, Polanco 3B, Mayberry 1B, Orr 2B, Blanton

Your gameday beer: Sly Fox Pikeland Pils

It comes in a can, is refreshing, and is relatively cheap. And it’s not a beast, a Pabst, or a big three beer. It’s Pikeland Pils, made by Sly Fox, made in Phoenixville, PA. A Northern German style Pilsner brewed with imported German Pils malt and hopped with German and Czech hops, it’s light in body, light straw in color and dry. It has won numerous medals for its great taste. Don’t be scared by the can! ā€“ By Pat
