Be the Next Phillies Nation TV Female Host!

Be the next Phillies Nation TV female host

Phillies Nation is looking for a new female host for the 2013 season. Following in the footsteps of awesome stints by Natalie and Alex, we think you might be the next host to film alongside Pat and Corey.

This is our third year of the TV show. In year 1, we aired exclusively on YouTube. In year 2, we made our way to televisions in the Lehigh Valley on 2Sports. This year, we’re hitting the Philadelphia airwaves through a new partnership with Comcast. The show will be featured on The Comcast Network and CSNPhilly.com.

So if you think you have what it takes to interview ballplayers and local celebrities; to weather rain delays and wind-strapped South Philly, and be the next Phillies Nation Female Host, complete the application below.

Please use the application to let us know about your experience and interest in the Phillies, journalism or other related subjects.  We highly recommend filming a video of yourself discussing the Phillies, but feel free to upload any photos or videos you think will help tell your story.

Note: This is an unpaid position, but it’s perfect if you’re looking to break into the media industry and meet some great people along the way.

I think any photos or videos should be submitted to the “commentariat” for their enjoyment and possible subsequent approval… 🙂

Pick me! Pick me! Seriously, what woman is a bigger Phillies fan than me, more eloquent and funny and knowledgeable? And humble…;-)

I might do it, but I know in the end, I have about as much of a chance as a snowball has in hades. There’s no way I’ll be picked, since I’m not a supermodel.

I would love to do this….it is a passion of mine. However, since I’m not a supermodel and I’m “old”, I know there is no way I will ever get a chance to do this.

I understand, Michelle. I was thinking the same thing. Since I’m not a 20-something “bubble-headed bleached blonde” (quote courtesy of Don Henley in “Dirty Laundry”), I figured I got no shot, but applied anyway. As a 40-something wise, experienced, and articulate life-long Phillies fan, I think I should at least be considered. I wonder if they picked her already…

I’m not a decisionmaker in this process, so my opinion is weightless, but I’m inclined to encourage you to think differently.

This assumes that any candidate has pretty good passion and knowledge of the sport that translates to camera.

Common sense pretty fairly tells us that even by subjective determination, 2 equal candidates who submit a tape, it’s not criminal to allow for attraction as the tiebreaker. Now exactly what attraction is doesn’t necessarily simplify to physical appearance, though it can be an important factor.

If you really feel like your passion and knowledge equals to you being the one that deserves it, I can see where you’ll regret NOT applying. It would seem fair if the candidate’s been chosen that the news be mentioned so as not to have prospective candidates maintain their hopes.

Get after it if you want, and don’t let another winner get you down. Have a Happy Self Esteem Day.
