Today is the last Spring Training game for the Phillies in 2013. And as they bid farewell to Clearwater, Charlie Manuel again has Ben Revere hitting leadoff, with Jimmy Rollins batting 2nd. I think today’s lineup is very close to what we will see opening day, except with Michael Young at third instead of Freddy Galvis (and obviously Cole Hamels at pitcher instead of Roy Halladay).

In minor league news, the Phillies released pitcher Jordan Whatcott and catcher John Hill. More info from Jay Floyd here.

Lineup: Revere CF, Rollins SS, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Brown LF, Nix RF, Galvis 3B, Kratz C, Halladay P

It’s probably worth mentioning that this is a fairly important start for Roy Halladay.

Is there word on what work Roy was scheduled to do today? Number of batters/pitch count?

pitch count goal was reported to be 90-100 … I believe he threw 96 pitches today and was 88-90 mph on his fastball

So the Phils ST display is just about over.
Impressed? I am. Offense looks really really good and the pitching? I think it will all work out and I am predicting a 92 win season with a WC appearance.
