Come Party with Charlie Manuel this Friday

World Series Trophy

Charlie will be there!

Ladies and gentlemen, due to the outpouring of support for Charlie Manuel, we’ve decided to host a party in his honor.  And best of all, Charlie has graciously agreed to attend.

The party is free to attend and will be held this Friday, August 23 starting at 5pm at The Field House at 1150 Filbert Street (next to Reading Terminal).

There will be food and drink specials throughout the evening as well as a ceremony honoring the man who brought a World Series to Philadelphia.  We’ll relive Game 5 of the 2008 World Series, get Charlie’s thoughts on us fans, present him with some mementos, and hold free raffles trivia contests for guests to win Phillies swag.

Before you head down the shore this weekend or go out for a Friday night on the town, be sure to stop by the Fieldhouse and pay your respects to a man who has given this city so much joy.

Don’t forget to leave your best wishes for Charlie so we can present them to him during the party.

    Wheeler’s favorite Charlie memory….

“The one I will take with me is the way he was able to overcome the scorn and ridicule inflicted upon him by a few talk radio people that I feel influenced the perception of others,” Wheeler said. “In time, he was able to overcome it with his warmth and personality. Sure winning is the number one thing and that helped the most. But people saw him as what he was. A good, decent man who grew to understand the passion of Phillies fans and respected them. In return, he gained their respect, which isn’t easy.”

    Good perception.
