Phillies Notes: Bastardo, Ruf, Halladay

halladay-Ruben Amaro addressed the Antonio Bastardo suspension with the media today. Amaro said Bastardo told him Sunday that something could happen in regards to the Biogenesis scandal. The Phillies GM did tell me that there really isn’t much else that can be done at an organizational level to combat things like this happening. There was no sign of Bastardo in the clubhouse; his locker had been cleaned out and nameplate removed.

-Darin Ruf gets a shot in right field, something he’s never done in his professional career. Most people realize that Dom Brown is the better candidate for right because of his athleticism and arm. However, what do the Phils really have to lose at this point? Try Ruf there, see if he can handle it. If he can’t maybe you make a change, maybe you put him back at first base where he belongs. This isn’t a team vying for a playoff spot that needs all the help it can and can ill afford a right fielder with no defensive acumen.

-Say bye-bye to Laynce Nix. The guy didn’t play well for the better part of this year, but if I’m Nix, I’m pissed. If anything, he deserved a look in a platoon with Delmon Young, if anything, to keep his bat fresh. Instead, he’s out the door. Now, I’m not saying he would have been an offensive savior, but I do believe it is tough to be a pinch hitter when you play as sparingly as Nix did.

-Amaro said Roy Halladay threw a bullpen session yesterday and could be on his way to a simulated game. Halladay was seeing swinging a bat before BP, a good sign. There is no timetable for a return.

      Mini Mart or Delmon?

      Take your pick.

Last one out of the circus has to lock up.

Mini Mart definitely heads the list of next to go. Papelbum is on it too. The Phils need a big dumpster to carry out all the trash.

Last night it seemed things were going to go well, then the 9th. Sometimes when one opens his/her mouth it returns to haunt you. The boos could be heard thru out the viewing land. So much has happened, not of it good or even at times tolerable. Sometimes once a ship is threatened, one has to evaluate whether or not it can be saved. This Team needs a huge dumpster, as someone else mentioned, or a serious recycling event. Lance Nix, sorry but time to go. He did come into some plays that were helpful, but do we consider him the problem???Getting rid of him is a flight of a gnat in a hurricane. When I began to scream too loud last night, I had to go out of the room, requesting that someone (husband) tell me when it was over. I couldn’t watch it. Did enjoy watching Victorino over the weekend. Too bad.

Now you know one thing for sure.. RAJ has been touted by a person as
“Jack of all Trades” this placed on a “T” shirt…..we can make it:
    “Jack-_axxx____ of all Traders”
or whatever you like to put in place…..
Why would he make any statements?
Why would the top echelon want to keep him here?
Why are people still going to the field to watch these episodes?
Or Why would anyone want to listen to or watch TV and listen to what they have as announcers?
    thanks for everything RAJ
