A Note for Tonight:

The Phillies will continue their N.L. East play Monday night as they open a four-game set with the Braves, and their newly acquired right-hander Ervin Santana. Santana, who tossed eight scoreless in his debut, has faced the Phillies only once in his career, pitching seven innings and allowing just one unearned run in that start. The only Phillies who have ever faced him are Marlon Byrd, Tony Gwynn Jr., Jayson Nix and Will Nieves, with the latter two collecting the only hits. Santana will have to quiet the league’s hottest hitter in Chase Utley, who, after going 3-for-4 on Sunday, rose his average to .500 (20-for-40) with three homers and 10 RBI. This is the Phillies’ first game this season against Atlanta, who in 2013 won the season series over the Phillies 11-8.

Lineup: Gwynn Jr. CF / Rollins SS / Utley 2B / Howard 1B / Byrd RF / Brown LF / Ruiz C / Asche 3B / Hernandez P

Faustino pitched very well. He had a case of the Cliff Lee run support problem from last season.
He made one big mistake that cost us 2runs.

Ah well. Wow!!!! Hollands looked tough in that inning!!!!!

Rosenberg is not the best relief pitcher I have ever seen.

    Those were some bombs.

This loss is squarely on Sandberg for his mismanagement of the pitching staff. Starter should have been replaced after first batter in sixth inning, he was obviously laboring near the 100 pitch level, yet no one was even warming up. Then later, back to back homers should be enough for any glutton, but maybe they were just lucky; let’s make it three.

I give the team a lot of crap.

But that is still some exciting stuff to watch.

    The Utley rejuvenation is fun.

    This division is VERY bad.

I am not sold on the Senators with their new manager and injuries.

The Braves will collapse because of the injuries and the Mets and Fish are 100 loss type of teams.

    Just saying.

Is there an email address for Ruben?

Ill write and ask him that question.

There is an email the judges option at the race track I go to.

they have always answered my questions in a courteous and timely manner.

The 1-2 punch of Adams & Papelbon are earning a combined $20 million this season, which doesn’t leave much money to fill out the rest of the pen. Unfortunately, allocation of resources has never been one of Amaro’s strong suits.

Awesome bullpen… That Atlanta has, holy shit I can’t believe they can get outs without giving up runs, that’s crazy

You pay your closer the most amount any closer has gotten in MLB and he can’t pitch for 1 more inning?

Screw the rules, Ryne, put his ass in there to pitch, espcially in game when your team comes back like that. Jeez…..

Is there any truth to the rumor that Rosenberg is going to pitch the home run derby before this year’s all star game?

I hope not that will take 10 hours… For the first round alone
