Gameday 15: Braves vs. Phillies

Atlanta Braves (10-4) at Philadelphia Phillies (6-8)

Starting Pitchers:
PHI: AJ Burnett
ATL: Alex Wood

Time: 1:05, Citizens Bank Park
Weather: Sunny, 52

A Note for Tonight:

Plain and simple, the Phillies need a win today on getaway day. They’ve had some brutal losses recently.

Keep an eye on AJ Burnett in the later innings to see how that groin responds.

Lineup: Revere CF / Rollins SS / Utley 2B / Byrd RF / Mayberry 1B / Brown LF / Nieves C / Nix 3B / Burnett P

Has anyone read anything about Asche/Sandberg? I know that Asche has been struggling at the plate, but it seems as if he’s on a short leash with Sandberg early on. The Phillies are getting virtually no production out of 3B so far this year…that’s becoming a glaring hole offensively.

Not the best offense on paper.

This is not the best team I have ever followed.

    Nor the best offense.

Pretty routine week. Ryan Howard gets an infield single, and pinch hits against a lefty, earning an all important walk.

    Highly predictable.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised with the Burnett effort as well as Lee’s outing.
