Gameday 33: Phillies vs. Blue Jays

Toronto Blue Jays (17-17) at Philadelphia Phillies (15-17)

Blue Jays

Starting Pitchers:
TOR: R.A. Dickey (2-3, 5.01)
vs.
PHI: A.J. Burnett (2-1, 2.06)

Time: 7:05, Rogers Center
TV: CSN
Weather: Indoors
Media: Twitter and Facebook

Game note: The Phils turn to Burnett to stop the skid against the Blue Jays. Ben Revere and Carlos Ruiz get the night off and J-Rol will hit from the DH spot once more.

Chooch’s absence is a little shocking considering his prior success against Dickey (6-19). J-Rol has had success against Dickey as well (7-23, 1 3B, 1 HR) while the Big Piece (3-15, 3 Ks) has struggled with the knuckleballer.

Lineup: Gwynn CF / Rollins DH/ Utley 2B / Howard 1B / Byrd RF / Brown LF / Nieves C / Asche 3B / Galvis SS

That was a fine pivot by Utley.

Ball didn’t touch him, but I always think its cool to see a knuckle ball in slow motion

Let’s do some math here, and see how it turns out. Freddy Galvis, at 0-1 tonight has 2 total bases so far this year. Reid Brignac has 2 homers tonight, six ribs, seems like that’d be about 8 total bases.

    Um, so far.

    Not that I’m editorializing.

    Just the facts, maam.

Hopefully, there’s a reason Galvis is what he is so far this year. But for now, hell, even Joe Koppee compares as a batting champion.

I hate the NFL and I am already over to the draft.

Amaros team isn’t just bad its so boring and no fun to watch.

On the bright side I have Dickey in fantasy and I am against burnett.

    Thanks Shenk!

The movement on the all time Phillies list is something at least.

You can see why PPED’s are a problem. Freddy Galvis can’t play in the majors unless he takes them. What would you do?

He didn’t take them last year either. Next theory.

One more: With his strikeout in the 5th, Utley ties Johnny Callison for 8th most on the Phils all-time list.

    12-3 in the 8th.
The Phils have the Jays right where they want them.

I wish I was able to try to defend this team.

    It would be fun.

    Wow this team is bad.

Whats the lowest attendance ever for game at CBP?

    LOLOLOLOL

Theres Ryan Howards most meaningless homer.

We have a whole career of it

    Thanks again Ruben

Wow, Schmenk’s. boy Nix really looked tough making the last out of the game. Take for strike one, swing and a miss at a ball a foot outside and swing and a miss on a ball a foot and a half outside Three pitches and see ya.
