MIA: Nate Eovaldi (2-2, 3.62)

A Note for Tonight: Cliff Lee has been placed on the DL, and Darin Ruf is in Miami with the team tonight. Let’s see if he plays a role in tonight’s game.

Kyle Kendrick is still searching for a win, he hasn’t had one since August of last season. Again, run support is mostly what plagues him.  He gotten a combined 16 runs of support in eight starts, but only three combined in his last three outings.

Lineup: Rollins SS, Ruiz C, Utley 2B, Howard 1B, Byrd RF, Asche 3B, Brown LF,Gwynn CF, Kendrick P

Geez Ryno- I thought Benny Revere had a stomach bug, I didn’t know that he swallowed a bee’s nest.

Is Ryno helping out his old buddy TG Sr by playing his son.

Great top of the first , bottom not so much. Asche holds onto bats like he does foul pops. 🙂

That’s Kyle Kendrick for you, phils get a lead and he gives it right up.

Why don’t we just challenge every play now?

Anyone (like me) that might have thought Stanton was just a one dimensional player now knows differently. That’s a superior defensive effort and catch..

Absolutely amazing. He certainly would look real nice in red pinstripes…

They passed on him twice in the 2007 draft.

Yep, the baseball draft is amazing. There were 75 picks before Stanton went, including the two by the Phils.

Ben Revere went in the round. And Phillippe Aumont. And Pete Kozma. And a whole slew of others who never made it to the majors. In fact Revere is the 13th best pick of the 1st round so far, based on WAR to date.

Bad game all around for Kendrick although he did show something by getting Detrich and Stanton with the bases loaded. In addition to giving up 6 runs, he hit into two double plays. I Maybe they just need to have him sacrifice in those situations. I know Richie Ashburn hated the play but sometimes you just bunt because at least you move one runner up into scoring position and you stay out of the double play.
