A Note for Tonight:

The number one thing to watch for tonight is to see if Ken Giles makes his highly-anticipate debut. Most else is secondary. Sure, some good baseball, and a good start by AJ Burnett, would be nice. But lets face it; seeing Giles hit triple-digits would fire some people up.

Lineup: Revere CF / Rollins SS / Utley 2B / Howard 1B / Byrd RF / Brown LF / Ruiz C / Hernandez 3B / Burnett P

Kinda looks like Ken Giles might not get going tonight. I would guess that when he does, he’ll move right into Sandberg’s these guys pitch to win games, not mop up, but Bunett’s got a goo pitch count going. Could go either way, I guess.

Doesn’t really matter if he throws tonight or not, gotta get a few games under him before you really have an idea what he’s got.

But, the curiosity is assured, even if that’s all he fulfills. At least for now.

Wonder if Matt Anderson has found peace of mind outside the game.

If Diekman can get his head straight and Giles ends up being what we hope…can you imagine that 8th and 9th inning combo?

      He’s still a jackass though.

Yes but he’s our very own jackass, with an ERA of 1.48 .. . an ERA that, were it not for his very first outing this year, you’d have to look for with a microscope.

We should work with Diekman and Giles as closers and, while he’s putting up these great stats, trade Papelbon for the best we can get. Eat part of his salary – it’s only Comcast money, and they can raise my cable rate a buck a month if it will give the Phillies a solid position player/prospect who can flat-out hit.
