Gameday 72: Phillies at Cardinals

Philadelphia Phillies (33-38) at St. Louis Cardinals (39-34)

Starting Pitchers:
PHI: A.J. Burnett (4-6, 4.17)
STL: Jaime Garcia (3-0, 3.72)

Time:  8:15 at Busch Stadium
Weather: Cloudy, 87

A Note for Tonight: Don’t look now, but the Phillies have a four-game winning streak!  The Phillies have actually won 8 of their last 10 games.

While Ryan Howard puts up big numbers at Busch Stadium, A.J. Burnett has less success.  Burnett has a 13.50 ERA in four career starts at Busch Stadium.

Burnett gets the first RBI by a Phillies’ pitcher this season!

Yep, every other NL team already has at least 2 RBIs. The Phils were also the last NL team to have one of their pitchers get a base on balls.

Our old friend Jarred Cosart pitched a nice game tonight. A 3.78 ERA in the AL would translate favorably to the NL.

By the way, when Rollins doubled in the 5th it was his 8353rd career official at bat, passing Schmidt as the franchise all-time leader in ABs.

AFW with a positive comment even though it it thick with sarcasm.
Good run by the Phils some clutch hits and good defense. Hope they can score 3-4 runs for Cole later today.

Seriously, beta…. You gotta just let it go with AFW. That’s all it is – sarcasm. He’s really NOT all that negative. Quite frankly, your constant complaints about him are getting to be worse than anything he has said over the years. Time to put it to rest, dude.

      Go Phillies!

Chuck the check is in the mail!

I always just try to enjoy it.

Maybe my betting the 5 game series with the Mets and losing it was what the Phils needed!

It is fun to watch now. So just watch and have fun and maybe they will keep winning.

        Maybe not.
