The Phillies have to buy themselves into contention because they are hapless in knowing how to run a ball club. A few years down the road the same story will repeat itself when you a have roster of expensive old men. The fans won’t have much to cheer for. Anyhow, it looks like the Eagles and the Sixers are under much better management so there is more hope for the future.

I’ll grant you that Werth played that perfectly, but there was one out and Rollins and Utley on deck. Just stupid.

Fister is on the mound. It’s tough to get hits on him. No guarantee that Rollins would put the ball in play either. Sometimes you have to be aggressive.

Why not? In fact, let’s blame your phone for the Phillies’ entire season. It can’t be MY phone’s fault; my phone is clad in official Phillies attire:

Meanwhile Fausto has settled in nicely. 14 of the last 15 , with a lot of help from his D. But important that he keeps eating innings. Did they call up a starter to replace Clifford.

  16. Lefty

    August 1, 2014 at 9:13 pm

And he provides his own D too.

Oh boy, dont jinx it. A one run game with Werth leading off- this thing could go 16 innings.

Another solid play by Jimmy. I forgot how much Werth hustles down the line.

we have to learn to be excited about the little things, because that’s all we’re going to get from this team

It’s even sweeter over the nats….

I really hate losing to them the most

Harper and especially Werth make that team more dislikable than even the Braves and Mets. On the other hand maybe some waiver wire deals get done if players produce .
