Today marks another MLB debut for the newest Phillies. Alec Asher will get his first start after coming to the Phillies in the Cole Hamels deal.  He picked up a 2.08 ERA for the Lehigh Valley team in 26.0 innings.

Aaron Altherr will get his third look in a row in the lineup, and in good measure, he has a hit in each game, which includes a triple and two doubles.

Phillies offense will face James Shields on the mound for the Padres, he gave up 8 hits and 5 earned runs in his last start against the Nationals Aug. 25th.

First pitch at 1:35 EST.

Lineup:

Herrera CF, Hernandez 3B, Altherr RF, Howard 1B, Blanco 3B, Asche LF, Rupp C, Galvis SS, Asher RHP
