We haven’t said it often, in fact, late April was the last time it happened when the Phillies won seven straight games, but the club has won back-to-back series with today’s 6-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Nick Williams continues his rookie campaign with an opposite-field two-run home run in the fourth to open the scoring. The left-handed hitter also added a walk drove in three runs total.
Phillies’ starter Jerad Eickhoff‘s only trouble came in the fifth, when he allowed a two-out, two-run single to Jonathan Villar to knot the score at two. Eickhoff made it through six surrendering just three hits and the two earned runs. He also struck out six.
The Phils would put the game away in the fifth with a four spot, highlighted by a two-run single from Howie Kendrick and a RBI single from Odubel Herrera.
