   They suck me back in every time, and then they go and have a debacle like tonight.

   My theory is that they need to go 13-5 in the last 18 games to make the playoffs. If not, they are home for the holidays and another year down the drain.

   Team to beat hahahahahahahahaha. Looks like two in a row for the Mets. Have fun watching the Mets in the playoffs. The sweeps were flukes.

   I hate to say it, but that Mets series is really looking flukey. Think about it: Before it, they dropped series to the Pirates, Dodgers and Padres – then they swept the Mets – then they dropped series to the Marlins and Braves. Which sticks out like a sore thumb?

   Miraculously, they were still in it at that point, and then took two of three from the Marlins before this Rockies series. I got to thinking after the opening to this series that this was the Phils’ year to get in – that Burrell HR and then the Howard walkoff double, that stuff reminds me of the ‘93 Phils – but these last two games have been just horrid at the worst possible moment.

   The good news is the Padres simply refuse to run away with the wildcard. IF the Phils can manage to salvage this Rockies series behind Durbin AND David Wells can find something against his former team tonight… Well, that would put the Phils back at 1-1/2 behind with 16 to go (and 7 of those 16 are against Washington – the Phils simply MUST take care of business there). Plus they get their chance to prove the Mets sweep was no fluke.

   Not an impossible situation, but all room for error is gone.

   Its not over yet you gotta believe just win tonight and take 2 out of 3 against the mets and your only 2 games back in the loss column with 2 weeks to go plenty of chances to hang around till the last week and win all 6 games at home.

   I don’t know how you can play two games with playoff implications like that and still expect to be in contention for a playoff spot. No hitting AND No pitching?!! You mean we can have both?!! awesome. Maybe Charlie Manuel needs to pull off the Jim Mora press conference.

   I’ll chalk up Hamels comments to depressive whining, but you’re right, no need to speculate on impact of the Phils’ chances on your return from the DL. Very unprofessional.

   Wow on that show i said the Nl east is over but we are 2 out in the loss column on both races now unreal.
