Gamenight: Phillies (0-1) Vs. Nationals (2-0)

Posted by Tim Malcolm, Wed, April 02, 2008 05:56 PM

So the Phillies lost on Opening Day. So Tom Gordon looked uglier than the rain itself Monday afternoon. Let’s get over it.

The King is back.

Tonight it’s the Phils and Nats in game two of the three-game set. Cole Hamels pitches for the good guys, while Tim Redding throws for the Washington nine. Acquired reliever Rudy Seanez will be available in the Phillies bullpen tonight. Wes Helms won’t be available — that baby’s outta’ here.

Phillies: Cole Hamels (0-0), 0.00 ERA
Nationals: Tim Redding (0-0), 0.00 ERA

Gametime: 7:05 p.m.
Weather: 48 degrees, partly cloudy

Lineup: Rollins/Victorino/Utley/Howard/Burrell/Jenkins/Feliz/Ruiz/Hamels

Your gamenight beer: In honor of King Cole, it’s the King of Beers, Budweiser. Beechwood-aged, it’s your all-American lager, a little bitter and a lot of simple. Enjoy one with a burger — ham, that is.

Go Phillies!

More importantly, tonight marks the first game of the Post-Wes era.

  2. Tim Malcolm Says:

Like I wrote before, now it’s through four. No score.

  3. Doug Says:

Just wanted to say, the Phils have the same problem this year as last. Tom Gordon and Adam Eaton. Neither one is worth a wooden nickel. Hoping the office figures it out a lot quicker this year.

  4. Geoff Says:

Well how often is that lineup going to get shutout by TIM REDDING?!?! This team seems to have a problem realizing that its not spring trainig anymore every year. That was a terrible hitting performance.

  5. rivlez Says:

look at that high powered performance get owned WTF!!!!

  6. danny Says:

  7. VA Steve Says:

0-2 now, and here we go again. How many times can one have the same bad dream and stay sane?

  8. Tim Malcolm Says:

They just looked flat. Damn flat. Recap coming at 11 and change.

  9. Geoff Says:

I hate to see good starts wasted.
