Phillies Bars
Posted by Brian Michael, Sun, April 27, 2008 09:35 PM
The Phillies failed to sweep the Pirates over the weekend by dropping Sunday’s game by a score of 5-1. The lowly Pirates were buoyed by a masterful complete game performance by Paul Maholm. Pat Burrell continued his torrid April with a double and the Phillies only run scored. Taking a step back, we will see that despite the loss the Phillies are positioned to at least go .500 in April – something we can all take heart in.
Since the Phils have off on Monday and Tim is taking a much needed respite to deal with his tragic fire, I will take this opportunity to introduce a new page on Phillies Nation – Phillies Bars! In our never-ending quest to unite Phillies fans around the globe, we have compiled a list of locations where Phillies fans congregate, no matter where you are. At the present time, we have nine cities covered, but we’re looking for your feedback to help fill out the map. Please leave a comment or send us an email with your suggestions.

Thanks for posting this! I just moved outside Boston. I’ll have to check these places out.

Nice work Brian. Hoping all is going as well as possible with Tim.
yesterday’s game – Myers was frustrating, but he’ll be there when we need him most. a good April, considering: Rollins out, Howard slumping, and so-so (at best) starting pitching.

Great idea, Brian.
Also, two thoughts from yesterday’s game:
What’s with Myers’ poor performance yesterday and recently? His fastball is weak and there is also a question of how prepared he is before games. It seems to me that he has the “ace” mentality, but he has not been doing anything extra to bring his game to that level.
Maholm looked nasty yesterday. As a temporary Pittsburgher I’ve been following him probably a bit more than the average Phillies fan. With some more run support, I bet he’d put up some decent numbers. Perhaps he could replace Moyer in the rotation sometime soon (this week)?

We should look to package Myers and Howard in a trade. Myers is a personality I don’t want on the team, and I see Howard becoming one of those personalities in the near future.
