Gamenight: Padres (11-17) At Phillies (15-13)
Posted by Tim Malcolm, Thu, May 01, 2008 05:23 PM
The mound will be a place for reunions tonight, as Randy Wolf pitches against his longtime team on one side, and Adam Eaton pitches against his longtime team on the other.
Who would you rather have right now?
The Phils lost last night, 4-2, with the offense drying up. They’ll hope to knock around the lefty Wolf with a different lineup – Shane Victorino is on board tonight. Rain is expected all night.
Phillies: Adam Eaton (0-0), 5.08 ERA
Padres: Randy Wolf (2-1), 3.68 ERA
Gametime: 7:05 p.m.
Weather: 60 degrees, rainy
Lineup: Victorino/Werth/Utley/Howard/Burrell/Feliz/Bruntlett/Ruiz/Eaton

Your gamenight beer: Randy Wolf gave eight seasons to Philadelphia, earning an All-Star appearance once and, for a short time, acting as the staff ace. For him, we go with a pick from the Wolf Brewery in Virginia – the brewery’s Straw Dog beer. Enjoy it with some halibut tonight, that is, if you’re, you know, hungry … like … the wolf …
Go Phillies!

I like how the lineup is put together tonight. But I don’t like the fact that Gonzalez keeps killing the Phils.
May 1st, 2008 at 8:52 pm
Randy Wolf is owning us – our offense is so sad and inconsistent.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:21 pm
We are not a good team – period.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:22 pm
We stink.
We should give up.
No chance.
Blah blah blah, shut up.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:35 pm
I’ts about damn time, Howard. It took him until May 1st to come through with an important hit — that’s not good.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:36 pm
We stink, but I never said we should give up or that we had no chance. How about instead of bashing me, you voice your own opinion – that’s what this is for, you moron.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:45 pm
Hey Mike T… we win this game, we’re in first place, no? We can’t be that bad if we’re in first place 30 games in.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:51 pm
Hey Mike T., Choke on another Phils W, ya Negative Nancy. We can’t win ‘em all 10-2. Nice to see Howard get a big clutch hit. Is that the corner he’s turning? I can only hope.
May 1st, 2008 at 9:57 pm
Voice my opinion? I think this team is great. They have a ton of great personalities and I love watching the games and rooting for them to win.
May 1st, 2008 at 10:12 pm
wow, remember when howard was good for a home run every third game? it’s amazing what a difference his bat can make. when he returns to form, this team will be dangerous.
May 1st, 2008 at 10:38 pm
This “not good team” is in first place!
May 2nd, 2008 at 12:07 am
And this team that “stinks” is in first without last years MVP in the lineup.
May 2nd, 2008 at 7:50 am
Hopefully, the Big Man will soon be back on track!
May 2nd, 2008 at 9:39 am
Hey Tim! I love the beer of the game thing. You come up with some great ones!
The Phils are doing pretty well considering 3 of their starters have been mediocre at best and Ryan hasn’t found his groove at the plate yet.
Another quality start from Eaton and Ryan getting much better swings = encouragement.
