The righties will be starting tonight as the Phils face two consecutive lefties to finish off the series.

we need to shell this guy….he should be in the minors.how bout we send him there

  2. scot Says:

    C’mon Phils.

  3. Mike W. Says:

Big game for Cole. The fish kinda lit him up last time. He needs to prove he belongs in the all star game tonight.

  4. Mike W. Says:

Also, nice timing on the Pujols injury for us!

  5. scot Says:

ugh. since i watched the reds/marlins game monday, and the extra innings package keeps givin me bad broacasters, this is my 3rd straight game with the Marlins broadcasters!!

  6. Mike W. Says:

these announcers are GOD AWFUL. it really is brutal. can’t wait to move back to philly for that reason alone.

  7. chris m Says:

my direct tv gives me the option of both broadcast

  8. NEPA Says:

Shane is really smashing the ball, unfortunately its right at someone. They’ll start falling and he’ll pick up where he was a few days ago.

  9. scot Says:

    Replace Hamels with Chad Durbin.

  10. Mike W. Says:

This is just not a good first inning team right now.

  11. Greg Says:

    where are the bats?

  12. chris m Says:

well howard left his bat at home AGIAN

  13. Mike W. Says:

yeah, along with everyone else though. what the hell is this crap? getting very frustrated.

  14. chris m Says:

why is ruiz still getting half the starts?

  15. Gavin Says:

ruiz should catch once a damn week.

  16. Mike W. Says:

I believe Ruiz has caught every Hamels start this year. They must be developing a good on field relationship. Oddly, Hamels used to always go with Coste. Not sure why he switched.

  17. chris m Says:

he probaly leads our team in double plays and hes not even an everyday player

  18. Gavin Says:

i think he takes charlie’s fungo up there.

  19. Tim Malcolm Says:

Man, Cole looks great tonight. This offense needs to wake up and be patient against Miller.

  20. Gavin Says:

    cole’s dealin’

  21. Mike W. Says:

ok victo. that guy got lucky playing that bounce, 9 times out of 10 that’s a triple.

  22. Gavin Says:

if they’tre going to do it……this is the inning.

  23. Gavin Says:

they’ll pitch around utley for RH

  24. Mike W. Says:

    CHUT! THERE WE GO

  25. Gavin Says:

    U Da Man.

  26. Mike W. Says:

well, that was REALLY dumb by utley. really really dumb.

  27. Gavin Says:

What did Utley do? I’m watching on the computer.

  28. chris m Says:

utleys fault there.he had plenty of time to get back to the bag b4 he tagged him. but thats alright from chase. he doesnt have many boneheaded plays. no matter how bad howards sucked it up this year he has hustled out EVERY ground ball. i respect that

  29. Mike W. Says:

howard hit an incredibly weak groundball up the middle. utley was safe at 2nd, but for some reason didn’t realize that he was safe, and he slid past the bag (he thought he was just breaking up a double play). he was tagged out after sliding off the base.

  30. Gavin Says:

ouch. I guess the guys not perfect after all.

  31. chris m Says:

he went in there to break up a DP and overslid the base but he was actually safe a didnt relize it and eventually got tagged out without any movement back to the base. he could of got back easily if he realized it

  32. Mike W. Says:

you gotta be kidding me. this dbag cantu.

  33. Gavin Says:

Fuck me. Jorge fucking Cantui. Who the fuck is this privck God DammmiTTTTT

  34. Gavin Says:

Heres the new plan pitch around Jorge Babe Cantu and pitch to Wes “First Pitch GB to SS” Helms. You gotta be shitting me.

  35. Tim Malcolm Says:

They should check Cantu for ‘roids. It’s ridiculous.

  36. Gavin Says:

PH Coste for Ruiz. Right now!!!

  37. Mike W. Says:

    id pinch for ruiz here

  38. Gavin Says:

Gotta steal Werth here to avoid the DP.

  39. Mike W. Says:

unreal. just unreal. fucking cut ruiz and bring up marson. he’s only hitting 360 in the minors.

  40. chris m Says:

    fuck ruiz

  41. Gavin Says:

    FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK.

  42. Gavin Says:

    Agree with Mike W

  43. chris m Says:

is ruiz atleast a bucket of balls in a trade bc i think its worth it

  44. chris m Says:

    worth a bucket of balls*

  45. chris m Says:

gavin you made the blog widescreen lol

  46. Gavin Says:

    ross goes deep right here.

  47. Gavin Says:

Ruiz made the blog go widescreen…………..that Bastard.

  48. Gavin Says:

Hamels is almost to 100 innings pitched……on June 11th. Wow.

  49. chris m Says:

im feeling good about this inning…hopefully rollins doesnt swing at the first pitch

  50. Gavin Says:

Hamels hits for himself in the 9th. J/k. I crack my self up.

  51. chris m Says:

this is the one time i dont want hamels to get the CG

  52. chris m Says:

let the ball hit u u idiot!!!!!!!!

  53. Gavin Says:

    What’s gregg throw?

  54. Gavin Says:

it will be a CG if the phils dont fucking score.

  55. chris m Says:

my piont. thats why i said this is the only time i DONT want him to get it

  56. Mike W. Says:

    MR CLUTCH starting us off

  57. Gavin Says:

    gotcha dude.

  58. Mike W. Says:

ok all, 1st and 2nd…any chance of bunt here?

  59. chris m Says:

    omg!!!!

  60. Mike W. Says:

WOW!!!!!!!! trhat would have been DISASTER if he was thrown out

  61. scot Says:

I hate to get on Hamels after such a good outing, but at some point our “ace” needs to be the guy who outpitches the opponent on their best night. I mean, he lost to Santana, to the Nats in the opening series, and if things don’t turn around here, twice to the Marlins in two weeks. He needs to be better than he was tonight. It sounds ridiculous, but it’s true.

Wow, did dobbs just steal 3rd? Holy cow.

  62. chris m Says:

i thought manual was making a bad decision for using another bench player to sub for dobbs but i pays off

  63. NEPA Says:

Great steal by Bruntlett, we better score at least 1 run at this point.

  64. chris m Says:

    bull shit

  65. scot Says:

    bruntlett, i meant. holy cow.

  66. Gavin Says:

That ball wasa foot outsifde on the computer.

  67. NEPA Says:

Hopefully Chase can show why he’s the MVP front runner and make up for that dumb play at 2nd.

  68. chris m Says:

it was close…gotta protect with 2 strikes tho

  69. Mike W. Says:

WTF is utley swinging at. come on, lets go

  70. Gavin Says:

    working him away.

  71. Mike W. Says:

WHEW. ok, howard, maybe some magic?

  72. NEPA Says:

jesus thank god we’ll at least get 1

  73. chris m Says:

well that works…maybe we’ll see howard get on base for once

  74. Gavin Says:

I guess thats better than nothing. now time for howard to quit being a bitch and hit the ball like a man.

  75. Mike W. Says:

ha! walking howard for p the b!

  76. chris m Says:

good id rather see them pitch to burell then howard…guess i watch howard more than their scouts

  77. Gavin Says:

I hope thats as dumb as it seems,.

  78. Mike W. Says:

    HERE WE GO

  79. Mike W. Says:

if werth swings 1st pitch i will flip a shit

  80. Gavin Says:

    Come on werth!!!

  81. Mike W. Says:

ARE YOU SERIOUS??? ARE YOU FUCKI SEIROUS?????

  82. Gavin Says:

I’m speechless. ARE YOU SHITTING ME> WITH 2 OU+TSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS does that fucker have shit for brains!

  83. NEPA Says:

Jesus I didn’t like that at all. Gregg wasn’t pitching well at all. Werth should have gone up there, taken a strike, then looked for a pitch to drive.

  84. Gavin Says:

    What the fucjk?

  85. Gavin Says:

NEPA you can say that agin. He outta have his ass benched for something that fucking dumb.

  86. NEPA Says:

Yea, you guys beat me to it. Just terrible. Gregg is very capable of walking Werth or throwing a wild pitch. You gotta at least take a pitch or 2 to make sure he earns the out.

  87. chris m Says:

    dont understand that

  88. NEPA Says:

Prediction: This game isn’t getting into extra innings.

  89. Gavin Says:

I got bad feelings men. Although if youve read any of my dumbass posts I’m not well balanced this eveing.

  90. Gavin Says:

BB the leadoff guy. Leadoff walks score 72% of the time.

  91. Gavin Says:

god almighty. here comes cantu. walk his ass.

  92. 85 Says:

Great. We get Flash Mesa tonight.

  93. chris m Says:

wagner just gave up a 3 run homerun with 2 outs leading 3-0. the pervious ball hit the guy a the umpire said it ddidnt and on the next pitch he tied the game…..fuck wagner!!!!! better get outta this

  94. Gavin Says:

you cant expect him to get Jorge Dimaggio out. Fuck that douche bag. He can eat a bag o dicks.

  95. Gavin Says:

jesus he cant throw a K to helms?

  96. Gavin Says:

    this games over. see ya.

  97. NEPA Says:

2-0 please throw a damn strike!

  98. chris m Says:

    fuck that peice of shit

  99. 85 Says:

Wow. Gordon was dog shit tonight. Good God.

  100. NEPA Says:

My prediction was correct. I will take a loss via a walkoff grand slam over a walk off walk any day. I can take a good Florida team beating us, I cant stand beating ourselves.

  101. Brian Michael Says:

You called it with the Flash Mesa…

  102. chris m Says:

the only thing worse then seeing it is having to listen to it with those fucking homer annoucers

  103. Mike W. Says:

put that L on werth. not like he definitely woulda gotten a hit/bb, but that was possibly the dumbest play ive ever seen in professional baseball. Also, i know no managers do it, but once you get to the 9th, you should use your goddamn best pitcher to MAKE SURE it even gets to the 10th. i hate how managers refuse to bring in closers in a tie game in 9th. makes me furious.

  104. chris m Says:

fuck him… wagner said he felt like suicide after his blowup in SD i think gordon should contimplate it as well

  105. Matt Says:

werth gets the jeltz. it was the most boneheaded thing i have ever seen.

  106. Geoff Says:

I dont curse a lot, but seriously, what the fuck was that lame ass shit?

  107. Geoff Says:

yo this fucking team better check itself. they get full of themselves ALL the time and play like shit for a week. then they go on a rampage for two weeks. even in this division, that aint gonna get it done. they should win the division by 10 games btu theyve got their heads up their asses

  108. Geoff Says:

they better fucking win tomorrow or i am going to flip out. if moyer doesnt get the job done im going to call for his retirement tomorrow. im sick of this shit. they are WAY better than this marlins team and all these teams in their division. its time to stop fucking around

  109. Benjamin Says:

Please, can some smart person explain to me why Manuel kept Gordon in the game passed Cantu’s single AND Helms’ walk – IN FOUR PITCHES??? Isn’t that a sign that we needed somebody else to face one of their best batters? Please, somebody tell me there is something I’m missing!

  110. VA Steve Says:

hey, two walks by sir flash is what I call “beating ourselves.” Actually, I blame Charlie for this one. You could tell flash was struggling, he should have been yanked after walking Helms.

  111. Greg V. Says:

Mitch Williams is having Joe Carter flashbacks I bet!

  112. tom Says:

can’t all go on werth, another inch or two to the left and that’s a bunt base hit with helms playing third.
this loss in the entire offense, you can’t go through entire games without making a pitcher work and then expect to get enough runs late to win the game. and lest we not forget tommy gordon, who has been good all year, but that was embarassing.

  113. Tim Malcolm Says:

    Well this one was fun.

  114. Joshua Says:

i knew the phillies wouldnt win this series, the phils CANT win when Utley isnt scoring.

  115. Geoff Says:

im tired of fucking saying this: this offense gets shut down by good pitching! in order to win more games they need to get more pitching. they couldve afforded to lose tonight if brett myers wasnt terrible last night. hamels pitching 8 innings with 13k and 2 ER and the offense sits there with their bats up their asses

  116. Joshua Says:

Geoff, you are absolutely right, lucky the mets and braves cant win a game or else we coulda lost 2 games in a matter of 2 days…although the mets game isnt really over yet, 3-3 bottom of the 10th

  117. Jordan Says:

Ruiz needs to stop doing splits behind home plate and learn how to not hit into dp’s. Nothing went right in the 9th. Rollins should have been on second with the double steal, vic should have got his bat on the damn ball, werth’s a moron (I can only assume he did that on his own, there’s no way one of the coaches called that), and Gordon was a joke. Two TERRIBLE loses in two days. These are going to sting for awhile, regardless of what happens tomorrow.

  118. chris m Says:

i like the emotion geoff. but theres a problem with that. your getting me fired up and im bout to head to the team hotel and find werth and gordan and beat the shit out of them

  119. chris m Says:

good call jordan… forgot about ruiz… he really should get the jeltz and really should get the demotion

  120. Geoff Says:

this team isnt ready for the big time yet. great teams dispose of teams like this, those young up and coming teams i mean, the phillies need to smack this team down HARD tomorrow. like they need another outburst 12-3 or something liek that.

carlos ruiz has become total garbage. are you serious? two GIDP balls in two critical situations? get OUT. go find somebody else. im serious. get the fuck out. hes been terrible all season. DFA.

  121. Jordan Says:

    tomorrow’s lineup:

    rollins
    vic
    utley
    burrell
    howard
    coste
    dobbs
    feliz
    moyer

manual needs to shake things up, NOW. too bad there’s no chance in hell of that happening

  122. Jordan Says:

    manuel*

  123. NEPA Says:

Tommorow we get the very much hated lefty Olsen. No way Manuel starts Dobbs against a lefty. He already got one start this series, no way he starts 2. And I prefer it a lot than starting him. I’d much rather have him coming off the bench against a righty late in the game then see him more than likely struggle all game vs. a lefty.

  124. chris m Says:

burell and howard need to switch batting spots

  125. Paul Says:

Glad I didn’t stick around to listen to this one tonight. Yikes! What a stinker they put up tonight.

Another good outing wasted by a starter. Why do the Phils struggle against these no name pitchers, especially those that are lefties? This Marlins starter came into this one with a 5+ ERA.

    Better go get them tomorrow…

  126. dan Says:

By the comments I’m guessing I picked a good game to miss

  127. Tommy A Says:

Yeah, was there tonight fellas…and as a transplant among all these Marlins fans, needless to say, it sucked big time. Chris M….I like the flip-flop Burrell-Howard idea. Isn’t Howard supposed to hit when it’s hot? Well, it’s hot down here!!

Had a bad feeling with Flush coming in for the ninth right from the git go. Outside of Cantu’s two dingers (wha?) Hamels was excellent. The offense has to come back tomorrow. Let’s beat this Olsen prick into the ground. That guy’s freekin’ jackhole. Go Fightin’s!!

  128. Joshua Says:

and the mets win…they edge 1 game closer.

  129. chris m Says:

tommy a im from east fort lauderdale…woulda loved to be there tonite but i got another week and half of summer school up here in tally…my dad and brother were there

  130. Mark Says:

2-2 in the 9th against Florida and … Gordon?????? I’m in shock! I don’t get it. You just don’t bring Gordon in this kind of game. No way, no how!

  131. Tommy A Says:

Chris M — cool man. See ya at the next Phils-Fish series…hopefully with better results.

  132. Phil Says:

someone said Hamels didn’t pitch good enough. He had what 13ks and 1bb? Yeah, he let up 2 solo shots, but are oyu serious? 8 ip 2 ER 13ks and 1bb is really good. Wasn’t it like 4 hits total? Come on now. Whoever thinks hamels didn’t pitch like an ace is really dumb.

  133. Phil Says:

Also, I’d give the Jeltz award to Werth. If he didn’t bunt then maybe he woulda hot a hit, and Flush Gordon woulda never came into the ballgame and Lidge would have made that Marlins offense look like total trash.

  134. Phanatic74 Says:

Can anyone tell me why Jayson Werth would place a sacrifice bunt in the 9th inning of a tied game with 2 outs? I can see if it was 1 out, but 2 ???? What is going on with Chase Utley lately? Rollins? Someone needs to step it up other than Victorino . . . .

  135. scot Says:

Phil, I didn’t say Hamels pitched poorly, but facts are facts. Look at his games in division. He’s been outpitched twice by the Marlins in two weeks now. There was the opening series when he was outpitched by Chico or Redding. The Mets game when he was outpitched by Santana. That’s 4 losses in division by our ace. Maybe only one against a pitcher that could be considered Hamels equal.

Simple thing is at some point when the opposing pitcher is on top of his game, Hamels needs to be better. That’s what we need out of an ace.

  136. Mike T. Says:

You’re welcome for not saying a word last night.

  137. Geoff Says:

We DEFINITELY need another guy as good as or better than cole hamels to get AND sign to an extension. It seems taht florida has found the cole hamels doppleganger. if that guy can match hamels then we need to ratchet up the temperature here. Brett Myers is not taht guy. He maybe can be the third starter if he cleans his act up out there. After recent developments Ive come to the conclusion that we need a right hander. Although it would be ok if somehow they got sabathia, of course. Id say either Ben Sheets or Derek Lowe. I hate trading in the national league but it might be necessary. Ben Sheets would be the main target, Milwaukee is fading in that division. they need to suck it up and get sheets because i think derek lowe will be their target in free agency if they dont get him beforehand.

  138. Gavin Says:

Werth is just not a good bunter right now.

  139. Phil Says:

I don’t think Hamels was out pitched. Look at the numbers. 13ks/1BB is fucking impressive. I don’t think Hamels was out pitched. The Phillies were swinging at total fucking garbage tonight. They weren’t working the count. I was at the game with Santana. He wasn’t out pitched that night either. I was right behind home plate. Santana has good stuff, really good stuff, but the once again the Phillies bats were totally cold. The game against the Nats, opening night, was there too. Once again, he wasn’t outpitched. The Phillies bats were really cold. The guy on the nats isn’t even a good pitcher. The Phillies offense just couldn’t get it done. You can’t say Hamels was out pitched when he was throwing better stuff than the opposing pitcher.

  140. Mike T. Says:

What have we learned from the last 2 games?

    1. Our starting rotation is incomplete.
    2. Our bullpen is beginning to falter (exception, Lidge).
    3. Our offense is showing consistent signs of inconsistency.

    What does this result in?
Everyone at this point knows: We’re just not a good team right now.

  141. Gavin Says:

Will someone please pitch around Cantu to get to Wes Fucking Helms.

  142. Phil Says:

Yeah, Hamels blows. He let up 2 runs in 8 innings and struck out 13 while walking 1. FIRE THE WHOLE ROTATION!!! EVEN HAMELS CAN’T GET IT DONE!!! Stop blaming Cole Hamels and blame the fucking offense. Maybe if they would have actually did something like work the count and get walks instead of swinging at garbage then they woulda scored a few more runs and Tom Gordon would have never had to come in. Pitchers having bad outings, and yes, the bullpens do too. When Lidge blows a save this year, and yes, it will happen, does that mean we need a new closer. I’m not going to argue about Myers, he blows, but come on, Hamels and Gordon have pitched well all year. They had a few bad outings each. It fucking happens. Everyone would love to get Sabathia and his 1st 3 outings he got totally annihilated. Maybe we shouldn’t get him either. And stop saying this isn’t a good team. It is a good team, great team…no. The only reason it isn’t a good team is because we’re lacking 1 starter. Eaton, Moyer, and Kendrick are pitching exceptionally well right now, so is Hamels. I feel confident when any of those 4 take the mound. The offenses bats have gone cold. It’s going to happen. They aren’t always going to score 5 or more runs a game. They went on a tear for 3 weeks and were killing the ball. This is baseball. You can’t go 162-0.

  143. scot Says:

If Brett Myers or Adam Eaton gave up a solo home run handing the lead back to the Marlins after the Phils tied it up, they’d be crucified here.

Thing is I have higher standards for Hamels than I do for Myers, Eaton, or anyone in the rotation. When he leaves having given up two runs, as opposed to the opposing pitcher having given up one it stands to fact the opposing pitcher outpitched him. We can blame it on the bats all we want. Thing is Hamels gave up to solo home runs, and the opposing pitcher kept the ball in the park. I think Hamels pitched great last night. No doubt about it. Miller pitched better though. And thats happened a few times to Hamels this year.

  144. Geoff Says:

I dont think he was outpitched either. I think he was matched last night. I think santana is a match. the nationals guy just has some sort of satanic ritual voodoo-type hex that he has on the phillies when he faces them.

see, about the bats being cold though. yeah taht happens sometimes. but pitchers with good stuff and good starting pitchers always make the phillies bats go cold. i cant remember the last time they knocked around a bonafide ace like hardcore. they jsut dont do it that often. why? because nobody does it to them. they get rocked like twice a year.

why is that? because their stuff overpowers hitters and makes them swing at garbage. its why pitching wins championships. i thought a few guys got themselves out last night though, and thats what you cant do. (carlos ruiz, werths bunt).

the bottom line is that even though the phillies will probably win the division, although if they keep this up they wont, they still have an inferior rotation. brett myers doesnt even belong in the same sentence as ben sheets or dan haren or brandon webb or even cole hamels. hes like one tenth as good as them because he gets rattled and is wildly inconsistent from one start to the next. maybe you can have him at the back of the rotation, i could live with that actually. but hes NOT a number two. ben sheets on the other hand? yeah they need him, start rooting against milwaukee so they become resigned to losing him. id give up something like bastardo, happ, cardenas, plus one or two other not as notable guys. tahts a big haul and a big risk so theyd BETTER sign him to an extension.

  145. Geoff Says:

tghat or get someone under team control until 2010

  146. scot Says:

Phil, calm down. I never said Hamels blows. I never said he sucked, in fact I say he pitched great. I agree with you more often than not, in fact, I agree with almost everything you said that last vitrol fueled rampage. But, to say the second solo shot Hamels gave up didn’t hurt us as much as Werth’s bunt is just not true. In those close games you just can’t have those lapses.

  147. Phil Says:

No, it doesn’t stand for that. See, here’s what you’re not understanding…HAMELS PITCHED A BETTER GAME!!! Did you watch the game? Did you watch Hamels stuff vs Millers stuff? One of Cantu’s home runs was a bad pitch. A fast ball up in the zone. The other was a trash change-up. He got lucky to hit a home run off of that. Even Cantu said it himself in the post game. Miller did not pitch better, the Phillies offense were just not getting it done. They weren’t patient. They didn’t wait for their pitch. Miller didn’t have a 13k/1bb ratio. Miller through a lot more pitches. Miller got taken out earlier because he threw a lot more pitches. Just because you let up 1 run doesn’t mean you pitched a better game. Miller got lucky that the Phillies didn’t bring their bats tonight. Now, Nollasco last night pitched a really good game. His curveball is nasty. That kid is going somewhere. Miller has good stuff too, but Hamels stuff was much better last night.

  148. Mike T. Says:

“Will someone please pitch around Cantu to get to Wes Fucking Helms.” Exactly.

  149. Phil Says:

That last rant was to Mike T not you Scot.

  150. Phil Says:

Oh, also…the Phillies bats were cold during the Braves sweep too. Our starters were outpitched for those games too, but our bullpen got it done. Their bullpen couldn’t. I hope they get hot for when the American League comes to Philly or we’re in big trouble.

  151. Tim Malcolm Says:

I’m glad to note it’s only June. While we can’t get overconfident with a four-game lead, we can’t go bezerk with two straight losses. Yeah this loss was bad, but I think the team knows its problems (need one more starter, insurance for the ‘pen and more patient at bats). These aren’t huge holes to fill by any means, and for the love of God, THEY ARE A GOOD TEAM.

One thing that struck me listening to the Marlins broadcast was Charlie Manuel was asked how they got two nights off in S. Florida (Sunday, Monday). Manuel said they didn’t need it.

Now, the two nights off could’ve messed with their hot hitting; moreover, they likely partied it up in S. Florida. How much would that play into their game? Who knows, maybe a little.

  152. Mike T. Says:

Phil, I said, what have we learned in the LAST 2 GAMES. Tuesday night, Bret Myers = “incomplete rotation”. Last night, cold bats + Tom Gordon = “bullpen beginning to falter (exception, Lidge),
our offense is showing consistent signs of inconsistency.”

I didn’t say Cole was outpitched – and I didn’t bring up the Braves series.

  153. Phil Says:

I brought up the Braves series. Also, one guy having a bad night in the bullpen means that it is starting to falter is insane. There are 6 other guys in the bullpen other than Lidge and Gordon. Condrey pitched 2 scoreless innings last night. Romero pitched 1 scoreless inning. The best bullpen in the majors blows games. it happens. You can’t say it’s faltering.

  154. Mike T. Says:

    Faltering.

  155. Phil Says:

Wow, then you’re the most negative douche bag on the planet. You know what, nevermind…our bullpen does suck. They should have a combined 0.00 ERA. Lidge sucks too. He’s let up 3 runs. Our starters should have a 0.00 ERA too, and we should go 162-0.

  156. Mike T. Says:

    Outburst.

  157. Geoff Says:

the issue with the bullpen is they are overused. they put lidge in non save situations a lot. i cant see doign that sometimes but not as much as they do. you need to preserve your close because there are some stretches where you will need to use him for 5 days in a row. if you waste innings on him when you dont need to then youre in trouble. see, fregosi, jim and williams, mitch.

theyve logged a lot of innings so far for the bullpen. the starters logged some of the most in the NL so far, but they go on stretched where they need to use the pen early in 4/5 games.

In addition to the top line starter they do need another legitimate bullpen arm to ease the load off of those guys in the strech run and postseason
