Let's see: In 2006 the Mets had the best record in the NL, yet got knocked out in the playoffs by a team that barely played .500. We all know what happened last year. It was statistically the biggest collapse in the history of the game. I see a trend there - a team that spits the bit when there's the slightest hint of pressure.

Mets fans,

You guys are fucking tools. We won the division from you last year. You collapsed, sure, but thats your teams god damn fault. We capitalized. Yes, we did get swept by the Rox, we aren't in denial or anything but atleast we were there.

Metsos...1st of all, you went out and got Johan and lost Glavine. They're both going to win the same amount of games. Johan might win less actually. So you didn't upgrade. As for the Phillies we lost Rowand, yes. But we got Feliz, Lidge, and Durbin. Believe it or not, we've scored more runs, hit more home runs, and pretty much beat all of our offensive category from last year by the all-star break besides batting average, so I think it's a safe assessment to make that our team is better this year than last year. We didn't play .500 ball last year, and we especially didn't play .500 ball during your collapse last year. Not to mention that we were a big part of your collapse. We swept you the last 7 games we faced you with 1 month of baseball to play. Down the stretch we won 7 of our last 10 games while you lost 8 of your last 10. It wasn't that it was just a collapse, but the Phillies played with soul to get there. They were playing for the Wild Card. They had no idea that you were going to collapse and blow a huge lead. We didn't collapse in June, we let you back into the thick of things. If it was September and the season just ended I would concede the division to you, but there is still a lot of baseball to play. Now I ask you this. Do you not have anything better to do with your life besides troll on a message board and talk shit? You obviously have no life. You are also obviously not intelligent. You don't even know the difference between, they're, their, and there. "there MVP" You are such a fucking tool. If I were as dumb, lonely, and pathetic as you I'd jump off of the Brooklyn Bridge, and end my pathetic existence.

You guys act like the phillies won the world series last year. You barely made the playoffs. Then got swept. Notice how every one calls last year a collapse and not a comeback. Thats cause the phillies did not comeback they played .500 baseball and the mets fell apart. The phillies have not gotten better they got no one different. They lost there center fielder, just added a bum for a pitcher and there MVP who put up a great year last year seems to have blown his load, for 3 playoff game losses. By the way the mets were 7.5 out on june 13th. collapse or comeback?

I hope they find a way to work Happ in this season somewhere. Last night was the kind of dominance of AAA they hoped Myers would be.

I don't think Cardenas was actually "blocked" in the Phillies organization, as people keep repeating. There was a realistic scenario where Utley would have been shifted to first when Howard became a FA or was traded, and Cardenas would have been the secondbaseman.

I second CZ's motion to ignore all arsehole mets fans. Let's just talk Phillies come one this site isn't for arguing with mets fans who have no lifes, it's for talking baseball intelligently with other Phillies fans. Good deal for Blanton IMO, Cardenas was blocked and we needed to keep Marson, Carrasco and Golson who aren't. Outman and Spencer really are low level prospects at this moment in time, Outman has had a poor season.

Blanton? Huh!

By the way, a lesson for the Phils; Don't let up or relax with a 3 run lead on the Mets. Grind and grind and grind some more -- no lad is safe until the last out of the ninth is recorded.
