Happ To Start Tomorrow Against Mets

Posted by Tim Malcolm, Thu, July 03, 2008 04:44 PM

Left-handed pitcher James Happ will start tomorrow night against the Mets at Citizens Bank Park.

Happ is 5-6 with a 3.54 ERA for the AAA IronPigs. He has 104 strikeouts, tops in the International League. He pitched one game last year for the Phillies. That was also against the Mets, and he gave up five runs in four innings in that contest.

How do you say, “NO HITTER” in spanish, so that all those Mets players can understand… when you say it in English, they no comprendo

  2. PhillyFriar Says:

In the end, they made the right call. Happ’s a different pitcher than he was when he faced the Mets last year, so hopefully we’ll see a different result.

  3. Don M's Dad Says:

I told you to pay attention in Spanish class! The chances of Happ throwing a no-no is the same as Myers being accepted into MENSA. By the way, if Taguchi can’t hit, field, or run, he shouldn’t take up a roster spot.NOW EAT YOUR OATMEAL!

Dude went to Northwestern.. Smart lefties can go a long way in the majors.

  5. philspan Says:

The Phillies haven’t yet said who will be taken off the 25 man roster to make room for Happ. Maybe they will DFA Taguchi? Condrey or Swindle could also be DFA’d.

my guess is condrey… he’s not even good enough to pitch for my team when were leading 20 to 2… he’s not even good enough to be a pitching coach at the local high school

  8. Clay Condrey Says:

Chrism: the pitching coach at you local high school sucks

  12. Greg Vince Says:

Congrats to Happ on being called up to the show! I have faith in him. I have seen a few of his starts this year and he is impressive to say the least.

Have you guys seen the yahoo sports editors picks for the all star team? i almost want to cancel my yahoo email address after I see this.

2 of the three pick Billy “5 blown saves” Wagner- how is this even possible? They all leave Hamels off too.

    Incredible.
