Video: Utley’s Other Bomb At The Derby
Posted by Tim Malcolm, Tue, July 15, 2008 09:16 AM
Chase Utley hit five home runs and didn’t make it out of the Home Run Derby’s first round last night. No big deal, really. I was content watching Josh Hamilton treat Yankee Stadium like a Guns N Roses pinball machine.
The real story with Utley this morning isn’t really a story at all, just a hilarious slip in a moment of sarcasm.
Dig (hat tip to The 700 Level):
He says, “Boo? F**k you” sarcastically about the New York crowd to Dan Uggla.
I love it. Yeah, maybe he should’ve realized he was on microphone, but when do you get to hear Chase ribbing around like a regular guy? I love this little glimmer of character.

I love it, too.
He should have Chase Utley facts like Cole Hamels did when he was called up. You know, silly things like…Chase Utley is God’s gift to Himself.
July 15th, 2008 at 10:01 am
Can you imagine the urine stench from all those new yorkers in the crowd last night?
July 15th, 2008 at 10:04 am
You know ever player says shit like that. Boo… Fuck you has a nice flow to it.
July 15th, 2008 at 10:12 am
Great stuff.
July 15th, 2008 at 10:20 am
I think we got chase utley’s new nickname……… Chase “Boo? Fuck you!” Utley
July 15th, 2008 at 10:26 am
haha Chase Utley is the man. They’re cheering him and he says boo fuck you. YES! Fuck New York fans!!!
July 15th, 2008 at 10:27 am
Tim…..you gotta grab the bull by the horns here. This would make a helluva T-shirt. In fact….I’ll be the first to commit to a purchase if you do.
Front
Hey Mets!!
Back
Boo? F — You!
Those words bring a tear to a man’s eye.
July 15th, 2008 at 10:36 am
I’ll take one
July 15th, 2008 at 10:40 am
count me in for one too!
I hope this ups the intensity of the relatively new rivalry.
This next Mets series is going to be huge! We gotta win it!
July 15th, 2008 at 10:46 am
All time classic!!!!!!!
July 15th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Yeah, he wasn’t booing the Yankees fans, he was booing the Mets fans that were booing him.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:04 am
I’ll take 2 of those shirts in a 3X lol. That’s a classic quote.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:18 am
i think a “phuck you” would be more appropriate for the back. perhaps with a phillies p?
July 15th, 2008 at 11:18 am
I am definately in for 5 shirts. Just a suggestion
Front
“Boo?” in the Phillies 3rd Uniform Font
Back
Like the back of a Jersey.
#26 With “F*CK YOU” over the number.
Hell whatever shirt is made I will take 5
July 15th, 2008 at 11:32 am
Guys – Just keep in mind that there are still people in this world that fear God.
Brian Michael – that doesn’t make any sense, why would God’s gift to himself curse him in return?
July 15th, 2008 at 11:37 am
Very classy Philly fans. Your comments continue to prove your worth.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:38 am
Utley is a great player he was not bieng booed as a player he was bieng booed because he plays for the 2nd best team in the national league east.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:39 am
Gimme one of those t shirts too.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:41 am
I was at the derby last night and got a text from 3 people telling me that they thought, but weren’t 100% sure of the F-bomb. After hearing the tape, it’s clearly an F bomb.
I didn’t think he got booed too much. There were some idiotic Mets fans, but there were a decent amount of out of town fans , majority of Yankee fans and a decent amount of kids and no one was really booing anyone. I can’t tell from the video clip, but did it sound like he got booed on TV?
July 15th, 2008 at 11:42 am
Utley was being booed because there are numerous Mets fans who are also Yankee fans.. that were at Yankee Stadium… and although they insist they never boo players, they were Booing Utley.. or maybe they were just calling him their boo.. regardless, he shouldn’t have said it, knowing that he was wearing a microphone.. but what would you do it 50,000 dirty new yorkers were booing you???
July 15th, 2008 at 11:46 am
chase is the MAN. Hey ‘9 in a row’, no one gives a fuck about winning streaks when your 2nd in the division. Come on the Phightins !
July 15th, 2008 at 11:47 am
calm down with the “dirty new yorkers” nonsense. I realize we all hate the Muts, but most people in new york are not Muts fans.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:53 am
New Yorkers like the team that’s hottest at the time, right now its the Mets so they like them, they do this with every sport except their piss poor basketball “team.” But every now and again you’ll find a respectable NY fan, I think two have shown up here since Ive been visiting.
July 15th, 2008 at 11:54 am
My sister just moved to NY 3 weeks ago, and I made her promise me that no matter what, she will not become a Mets fan…
Go to a Phillies-Mets game and tell me that New Yorkers aren’t 10 times more obnoxious… no matter which stadium you are in
July 15th, 2008 at 11:59 am
New York was a Muts town in the 80s and a Yankees town in the 90s.
I’ve worn my Phillies jersey to games in just about every ballpark in the NL (sorry Milwaukee and Houston) and worn it to countless Muts games growing up. The worst I was ever treated was at Yankee Stadium in ‘99 right after the Phillies traded Andy Ashby for Bruce Chen. The Phillies had the audacity to win the 2nd game of the series and the Yankees fans were not happy with me. The Yankees won the game 6-2 but I still had beer thrown on me after the game while they chanted “Rolen is a pussy!” (i had my rolen jersey on.)
New York and Philly fans are not that different. Philly gets the worse rep, but New york is only 100 miles away and they can be brutal fans as well.
Plus, they booed Utley when his hitting streak was snapped last year, so I think Chase was thinking about that when he F-bombed them.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:00 pm
9 in a row is commenting on our class, yet they booed Utley solely for playing for the best team in the NL East. He also seems to forget that every year the Phillies only get much better after the all-star break. Who cares if he cursed, and screw anyone who says Utley has no class. Hell, he spends basically all his spare time and money saving puppies
July 15th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
yankee fan, are you switching to a mets fan now that your team is the 3rd best in the al east? that’s pretty pathetic. also, i before e except after c and also the word being.
it was nice to see chase show some personality! place this one in the archives with examples of other cities that boo at inappropriate times even though we’re the only city that gets the bad reputation.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
Don, you are right some New Yorkers can be obnoxious but when your team is playing in the best city in the world and have the two best baseball teams sometimes you can get carried away.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
2 best baseball teams? Does the name Boston Red Sox ring a bell? Yankees are #1 I’ll give you that. Mets aren’t one of the best historical teams in baseball. They didn’t even join the league until the 60s. Best city in the world? I’d take Tokyo over New York any day hands down.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
I’ll be honest with you guys, I try to make it the worst expierience ever for a Mets fan when I see them at CBP. I’ll heckle anyone, if any of you guys were at the NFL draft, I wouldn’t lay off anyone in the waiting line. (I was the kid in the AJ Hawk jersey for those of you who were there.)
July 15th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
how can you call yourself a yankee fan and say nice things about the Muts? You are a polygamist!!!!! You are NOT a real New Yorker, go back to Connecticut.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:04 pm
how are those shirts coming, anyone making any progress yet?
July 15th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
Sign me up for one of those shirts by the way.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
If the 7th best team in the AL…
and the 5th best team in the NL…
are “the two best baseball teams”….. hmmmm did someone drop out of the NY public school system after 6th grade??
July 15th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
Julie, it’s ok to be jealous you can be a yankee fan when ever you want I do understand when cheering for a 2nd class team sometimes gets you down. And that playoffs last year must of been one to remember so anytime you want you jump right on the band wagon you will never be disappointed again. Go Yankees!!!
July 15th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
Yeah, I agree. What respectable Yankees or Mets fan cheers for the other New York team. Yanks/Mets rivalry is probably the best AL/NL rivalry in baseball. You’re a frontrunner.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
He’s probably one of those duches that goes to a subway series game in a Yankees hat and muts jersey. Those people should be kicked.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
Dom, Good queestion about someone dropping out of the NY public school system after the 6th grade. You must get alot of that in Philly. There is your answer they must all become Philly fans after they drop out. That makes soo much sense. Wow this whole time we tried to understand the Philly fan and you just answered it for all of us. Thank You!!
July 15th, 2008 at 12:14 pm
See, we all keep forgetting how awesome the Yankees have been in the post-season recently.. it proves that spending outlandish amounts of money on has-been players is a very, very good strategy!!!
July 15th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
First of all, my name is Don M …not Dom.. and you took 7 minutes to come up with that response?? You suck at life..
July 15th, 2008 at 12:19 pm
No purpose for a Yankee fan to be on a Philly site talking trash. Probably got booted right the hell out of those Red Sox sites. We’re not even rivals, get a life and worry about your own league. FYI- The A’s left about a half century ago you can go home now
July 15th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
hey Yankees fan, why don’t you take Metro North into the city and watch the parade today where you can cheer on Reggie Jackson AND Tom Seaver you polygamist troll. No one cares about you up in Connecticut, so just take pride in UConn baketball, cherr on the derelect scum recruits that Calhoun brings in and don’t forget that you’re NOT from New York.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:21 pm
Griffin, I am not a mut fan I do not care for the muts but this should show how much more I care about the Philies. If the Phillies ever got a chance to make it to the playoffs this year. I know I am hallucinating but take me serious for a second. If they do please bring the towels again this year. I was not sure why they brought them last year and waving it around but realized what they were for after they got swept and all the fans were crying.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:23 pm
yawn. Go back to Stamford.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:24 pm
Don, every year in october I am getting ready for the playoffs while your getting ready for halloween. The only good thing to come out of philly is ROCKY and that was a movie.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
Benjamin Franklin, nuff said.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Rockies were hotter than almost any team in the history of baseball at the end of last season… and we lost to them just like everyone else.. not really a big deal.
You dickheads lose to teams that have a payroll that is 1/6th of yours
July 15th, 2008 at 12:28 pm
Oh, sorry I thought this was Red Sox Nation. Hum? Wonder were you stole that name from. Like I said 2nd class all the way.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:30 pm
Why do you care? You give us credit for Rocky? Wow, that’s it? Benjamin Franklin doesn’t ring a bell? New York may have sports history, but Philly has actual history you fucking tool.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:31 pm
Rocky sucks compared to Cheesesteaks and soft pretzels..
Dude, honestly… The Phillies have a better team than the Yankees… and then Yankees have a payroll that is insane!!! You guys should win the World Series every-other year.. but you don’t. So to come on here, and talk about your team going to the post-season every year is just as impressive as the time you talked about making out with your sister after her prom! To other New Yorkers, that might be a great thing.. but to us, its really nothing to brag about.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
guys, this duche isn’t from New York. He’s from Connecticut. That’s like someone from Southern Delaware saying they’re from Philly.
Now, we should all make fun of Connecticut…..um, Vince McMahon sucks! Take that!
July 15th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Don M don’t forget water ice.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
Griffin, how do you know he’s actually from Conn?
July 15th, 2008 at 12:38 pm
I just think that its pretty bad when your at a philly vs mets game at philly and you getting drowned out by mets fans at your own stadium. I know most fans in philly can’t afford to go to the games or they must rather watch from there trailor home but something has to be done to get the fans at the game. It sounded like the muts were playing at home. Maybe if they gave away tickets to the fans with every tractor or mobile home purchase. Or gave away crying towels every home game that might work. What do you think?
July 15th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
because no New Yorker would get through grade school without getting punched if they claimed they were a Yankee AND Met fan. They would get made fun of incessantly until they had to choose a side.
This guy has only been to the city if his daddy takes him to a Knicks game.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
haha Yankee Fan, there is like 1 Mets fan for every 10 Phillies fans you tool. You don’t even know what you’re talking about. You are obviously really dumb and do not know the difference between your and you’re. A lot of Phillies fans are from South Jersey which is ridiculously wealthy. Haddonfield has more money in it per square mile than anywhere else in the country. You don’t even make sense at this point. You’re the dumbest troll to come on here thus far, and you’re not even a Mets fan. You can’t even spell trailer you fucking tool. I think you live in your moms trailer. It makes sense considering how fucking dumb you are. Phillies have sold out almost every home game this year. We don’t have fans? Philly is the most passionate sports city in the country. You probably don’t go to Yankees games because you’re afraid of the city and afraid of being shot you fucking pussy.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:42 pm
Makes sense Griffin. My bad.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
he’s afraid to take the subway, so he’ll only go to a Yankees game if Daddy drives him.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:43 pm
Vince McMahon? Oh, you have got to be kidding. Every time you guys write something my questions are answered. WWE fan there Griffin?
Please get your philly towel I have to tell you a secret. Ready? Wrestling is FAKE! Yes, wipe those tears. It is not real. I am sorry I ruined you day.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
“sorry i ruined you day.”
enough said there skippy
July 15th, 2008 at 12:45 pm
ruined you day? Yankee Fan, you’re not responding to my arguments you fucking douche bag. We all know wrestling is fake. You’re such a fucking douche bag.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
The only reason you hear any Mets fans at all at Phillies games is because if one of their overrated players gets a base hit, they cheer as though they were giving out free Beepers and Gold Chains somewhere!!
And that usually lasts about 5 seconds until the Phillies fans drown them out with Boooooos..
July 15th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
dickhead, I’m not a wrestling fan, I’m just pointing out that that’s all there is in Connecticut. Huskies women’s basketball and the WWE headquarters off of I-95. But why am I telling you this, you already know since you’re from there. Enjoy the wasted stretch of land between new York and Boston.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
First off all you ever go to a philly/ mut game? There are more met fans there then philly fans. Here is an idea maybe if the philly fans bought the ticks to those games when they first go on sale there would not be many tickets left for the new york fans. Or maybe you are just scared of the new yorkers there so you don’t show up? I can understand that.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
Are you wearing your Swin Cash jersey or your Diana Taurasi? Sue Bird is my favorite, yay!!
July 15th, 2008 at 12:52 pm
yankee fan again proving he’s never been to a phillies-mets game in philly. not the case. muts fans always outnumbered. and when a fight at those games does break out, and i’ve been to many of them, not once have i seen it end well for any muts fans involved. and in case you were wondering, we’re still not in the american league and are not rivals. get a life
July 15th, 2008 at 12:53 pm
Griffin why do you keep saying connecticut. I have never been there but if you have a passion for the place then you should go there. You will be dissapointed because I have heard there are not too many trailor cummunities there for you.
July 15th, 2008 at 12:55 pm
Stop pretending. You’re from Stamford you duche. I would say that you’re from Greenwich, but you’re spelling is horrid. I’ll say you’re middle class-Stamford it is!
July 15th, 2008 at 1:01 pm
Yankee Fan, you still have not responded to one thing I said. Once again, learn to spell trailer you fucking moron. You are proving you have the IQ of a fucking amoeba. You probably aren’t even from the east coast you front running piece of shit. I was at the Hamels vs. Santana game this year. We out numbered them at least 10 to 1. And there were several fights, and Mets fans got their asses beat. There was a chant against a big mother fucking muscle head Mets fan that said you’re on steroids. It was awesome. Phillies out number Mets fans. I’m sure you’ve never been to one of those games you fucking tool bag. We have and we know.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:02 pm
I was just spelling like that so you can understand it better.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:04 pm
No, we’re not nearly as dumb as you. I can understand trailer spelled the correct way. I’m a civil engineer major. What do you do? Do you work full time lying on your moms couch in her basement? If I were as dumb as you I’d consider suicide.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
Phil, first of all I wonder how long it took to come up with your name? And as foryou saying: There was a chant against a big mother fucking muscle head Mets fan that said you’re on steroids. It was awesome. AWESOME? Wow that must of been awesome dude! Totally awesome.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:06 pm
Lets see I have been to 2 Mets Phillies games in Philadelphia this year and the Phillies fans were loud and proud and outnumbered the Muts fans 100 to one. If I had to guess there was once “special**” couple per section. (I mean short bus special**)
I went to a Mets Phillies game in Shea last year and in my section there were more Phillies fans than Mets fans. It was a tie game going into the 4th and the majority of Mets fans still left in the 5th. Wow…what commitment.
Its always funny to me to hear the Yankees fans talk so much shit when their team is in the tank. How does it feel to be looking up at the Rays?
And as always go Phillies!
July 15th, 2008 at 1:09 pm
Wow a civil engineer major? Not bad just like everone else in PA. Well I guess you do now how to spell trailor since you soon will be able to construct new ones in the future for your fellow philly fans.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
You’re trying to insult my intelligence? You don’t know the difference between your and you’re and can’t spell trailer. I used the word awesome and you’re going to insult me? Once again, if I were as dumb as you I’d hate myself. I would have killed myself a long time if I didn’t know the difference between your and you’re.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:11 pm
Is this dick calling out Phil for using “Phil” as his name… instead of the completely original “Yankee Fan” ???
I’m not one to advocate fighting dudes just for having the other teams jersey on.. but some of those fans really have it coming to them… I’ve been to both Shea and Fenway for Phillies games… with my gear on… at Shea people curse at you and try to start fights when they have 10 friends with them. at Fenway, people talk to you and ask how you like the stadium.. and are generally good people.
You have proven that the Yankees are the greatest team in baseball, as evidenced by their 50-45 record at the All-Star break… what that has to do with the Phillies, Im not sure… but you have really proven that NY fans love their sisters
July 15th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
I should not be too sarcastic about the philly fans they did come out to support the muts beating the phillies 3 out of 4. And please be there at shea for the next series and bring your towels we will bring the brooms.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:16 pm
“we will bring the brooms”
and you’re a Yankee Fan.
You are a disgusting Connecticut polygamist.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
I am still confused why a Yankee’s fan is on a Phillies site bashing us? It just doesn’t make any sense. Have fun not making the post season.
Don M. There is a difference between rape and love. They might think their sisters love them “in that way,” but its not true. Mets/Yankees fans…putting the Sensual in Nonconsensual.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:17 pm
I thought you said you were a Yankee fan, you moron.
whats with all this “we” talk about the Mets…
I was going to ask you if you thought your mother would let you take the broom out of her a$$ long enough for you to take it to the baseball game.. but Im not gonna go there…
July 15th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
You still don’t know how to spell trailer, and I’ve corrected you how many times?
July 15th, 2008 at 1:25 pm
Look I understand all the FxxKING your sister jokes with you being from PA but we just don’t do that in NY. So please keep your prefrences to yourself. As far as bringing the brooms I said before if you were listening earlier I do not care about the muts I just hate the phillies more because of all the sites today I had heard how all the philly fans were condoning what utley said in our stadium last night and ny fans come before ny teams so if we were to go to a game too boo the phillies it does not mean we were going to cheer for the muts.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:27 pm
UTley wasn’t saying that to your precious Yankees fans. He was saying it to the Mets fans that were booing him.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
You mean you don’t do that in CT.
Your stadium was built during a time that baseball was pure and championships were not bought with incredible payrolls. Now its just a money making sham. You guys buy championships, how else can one team win 26 world series?
You are more than welcome to come into our house and boo our players. Just bring your rain coat. The forecast calls for scattered beer showers with the occasional fist storm.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:30 pm
There was not many mut fans there because if you heard we were booing david wright when he came out. They only had 2 guys there one ex- philly and a player that made it because someone else was hurt so there was not much reason for mut fans to be there.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Please shut the fuck up before you further embarrass yourself. The Yankees eat dick, despite having the largest payroll in baseball, and the Mets have won nine in a row and still aren’t in first place! You obviously know nothing about the history of baseball or our country for that matter, you fucking twat. Pull your fingers out of your asshole, take the subway back to Queens and spoon with your sister.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
Ok, this is just getting silly. Yankees/Mets/UConn women’s basketball fan has no real argument. An argument comes somewhere after spelling words and making sentences, which are 2 things that are clearly elusive to this confused guy.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:35 pm
Are you Philly fans really that dim? Yankee fans do not root for the Mets and Mets fans do not root for the Yankees, period. That might be tough for a one-team town to understand, but it’s what makes sports in NY interesting.
And you’re telling me that if this game was in Philly, the Philly fans wouldn’t boo Wright and Wagner? Come on, at least be real. I didn’t think Chase’s f-bomb was a big deal, but you must get off your high horse about it. Fans will boo their team’s rival players anywhere and that’s just the way it is.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Remember Julie anytime you want to be a real fan just put on your yankee jersey you got last christmas. And dan listen it really isn’t good to have sex with your sister your kids would have problems so you should stop that. And stop going to those spoon with your sister conventions they have there in Philly.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Big Shea, don’t worry, that duche is from Connecticut. I tried to explain the New York fans switch their allegiance based on which team is doing better, then they FIERCELY deny that they ever rooted for the other team. It’s not cool to be public with your polygamy.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Actually they have two teams in NY so the fans can be frontrunners. the same thing would happen here though if the A’s were still in Philly.
I actually kind of dont hate the As still. I admire billy beane.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:38 pm
Big Shea, talk to Yankees Fan. He clearly sucks the cock of both Derek Jeter and David Wright.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
I’m a native New Yorker, currently live in the city, and am a phillies fan. Really isn’t any place for yankee talk on here… and for the mets winning streak, sure winning 3 against the phils was big, but aren’t they supposed to whoop on 2 last place teams at home? Why is this such a big deal? Because they weren’t inconsistent for once? 9 wins is 9 wins, but i’m not sold.
Also, i flew into NY from dallas on sunday night… all of the rangers/white sox all stars were on my flight… hamilton, bradley, young, kinsler, quentin and crede. When we approached NY, the captain got on and said, “Welcome to NY… if you’re here for the all star game, congrats and good luck. NYC… home of Yankee Stadium… the NY Yankees…….. 26 world championships… click (mic turning off.”
July 15th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
Of course Phillies fans would boo Muts at an all-star game in Philly. The national media would criticize Philly and bring up Santa Claus.
And let’s not go overboard praising the class of the Muts fans. They were cheering when Utley’s hitting streak came to an end at Shea and Keith Hernandez said it was one of the most classless things he’s ever seen and said “Who boos a hit streak? Are they kidding me?”
July 15th, 2008 at 1:42 pm
I can also imagine that he is just smitten now that A-rod is single again.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
Oh, and we’re not complaining about Utley getting booed. If I were there, I’d boo whatever Yankees or Mets were there. We have no problem with it, and I don’t know where you got that idea.
July 15th, 2008 at 1:47 pm
I like David Wright… I like Chipper Jones… I like good baseball players that carry their teams and don’t showboat ala Jose Reyes… Phillies fans hate Mets fans because when Mets fans travel down to CBP for games, they often bring their sisters… both the Mets fan and Phillies fan are trying to get on the easy-lady and that is often what the fights are about.
Mets fans trying to get on their sisters, instead of Phillies fans getting a lil sumptin-sumptin at the ballpark..
July 15th, 2008 at 1:52 pm
I hate Mets fans because they root for the Mets. That is the only reason. Oh sh*t…I forgot about the genetic instability they create with their inbreeding. Oh well…just another reason to hate them.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:04 pm
i know plenty of yankee fans who dont care for the phillies as well, just for the mere fact that they hate the city of philadelphia and there dump of a football team and ugly fans
July 15th, 2008 at 2:08 pm
Next time the Mets come to town,we gotta say “Boo Fuck You”.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:29 pm
Chase wasn’t booing anyone. He was rhetorically asking “Boo?”. He was surprised he was being booed for his VOLUNTARY participation in the HR Derby.
Then he said jokingly “F— you!” to Uggla. I’d probably be slightly annoyed that people would boo me too, if all I was trying to do is voluntarily entertain them.
To be quite honest, even if one of the Muts was in the HR Derby at CBP I’m not sure if they would be booed. Our fans surprise me at times with what they will and won’t boo.
Most of the time, our boos are sarcastic and fun loving anyway. For instance, when fans try to catch pop-ups in the stands and miss them. The fans aren’t sincerely booing the person, but merely having fun with them.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Thats a good idea J-MAN you should chant that so everyone on national tv can see how classy the fans are. And prove everthing that has been said about them.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:38 pm
Yankee Fan is just upset because his team is the biggest Soap Opera in the history of sports… A-rod dating life.. Jeter’s cologne.. Giambi’s moustache and thong.. and nobody can have facial hair, and god knows whatever else..
What part of New York do you live in Yankee Fan??
July 15th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
Were not upset it happens when your team is in the best city in the world. And it does not matter the yankees have more class then any other team around. And when you have the best players in baseball on your team you expect things like that to happen. Its the YANKEES!
July 15th, 2008 at 2:46 pm
Hey Fred and Phil- do you too jack each other off while watching Chase Utley highlights? Are you upset about living in a second class city? Don’t get shot tonight.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:48 pm
When you think baseball you think A-ROD, JETER, RIVERA, MANTLE, RUTH and the list goes on. When you think of Phillies you think of Schmidt,?,?,?,?. Some of the best players from the phillies they ever had? Abreu (Yankee) Wagner (met) what a great GM!
July 15th, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Funny, you didn’t answer Don’s question. Probably because you’re from Connecticut. You know what else you expect when you have the best players in baseball? Oh yeah, you expect to be ahead of the FUCKING RAYS.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
BROOKLYN
July 15th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
I love THAT ONLY PHILLIES FANS THINK IT WAS SARCASM!! I clearly, find it to be the same level of class that we were treated to when visiting lovely Philadelphia to watch our team, the METS play….I never realized that generations of fans encourage their grand CHILDREN to kick, stand in front of, and CURSE mets fans…oh, or chant CRYBABY when our pitcher, John Maine was hurt. I love Citizens Bank Park…and I LOVE coming to games with lots of intensity, but PHILLIES fans (not all I’m sure) really really should be ashamed of themselves…and then celebrating Utley for the F-bomb…typical.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
And right now you’re just proving our statement that all the Yankees and Mets do is unload their fat wallets on washed-up ex-Phillies. The only reason you have A-Rod is you’re the only team that can afford him and the only reason you had Ruth was because you bought him from the Red Sox gay-ass theatre-loving owner so he could put on another play.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
, Richia Ashburn, Jimmie Foxx, Jim Bunning, Robin Roberts, Steve Carlton, Pete Rose…
Hmmm…. Some pretty great players!
July 15th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
And Staci, first of all, change your name to the right spelling and tell your parents I said, “you’re welcome.” Second, we didn’t yell because he was hurt, it was because he stood on the field for another twenty minutes so you could get your reliever warmed up. Flashes of Jose Reyes.
July 15th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
are you sure you are from Brooklyn, or did you take that long so that you good go on google or something and find out which parts of NY are fans of which teams..
Staci.. where did you get those beautiful HOOP EARINGS and that Gold-Chain with your name on it?
I don’t what any one else says.. I think you like mad fly
July 15th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
fa sho
July 15th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
Maybe the phillies should sell thier team and make the stadium a theatre so the fans can have some good entertainment. And they can bring those stupid little towels to cry on like they did when they got swept in the playoffs last year.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:02 pm
Yeah, Yankee fan. Tell us about Brooklyn. What do you like about it? What’s your favorite restaurant?
July 15th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
Enough with the towels, dork… it looks great when an entire stadium in waiving them around
July 15th, 2008 at 3:04 pm
I like that philly fans don’t live here. And Grimaldi’s.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:05 pm
True, theatre is much better entertainment. And I won’t forget my towel so I can cry when I go see a play. You can borrow mine for the next time the Sox come back from being three games down to win the next four in the ALCS. Pussy.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:07 pm
Dum, it looks great when an entire stadium in waiving them around?
Well the only thing I can say the phillies will be waiving their white towels because they are going to get beaten pretty bad.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
Even the BRAVES fans didn’t cheer when Ryan Church was injured and I thought they were the LEAST classy fans of all…. I’ve never been to Shea or anywhere where the FANS boo an injured player (i’m not saying it doesn’t happen- but I was at citizen’s bank park last year when Oliver Perez was injured running to first base on a single- and the fans were yelling the same THINGS)…let him take all the time he needs…it’s HIS HEALTH on the line…plus, baseball rules allow for relievers to take as much time as they like.
And, I’ve never lived a day in the northeastern part of the United States…
Good luck guys! I would never wish ill will on your Phillies…
July 15th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
It would be great if you were even slightly funny…
You don’t think it looks cool when an entire stadium is twirling them around and going crazy?? Is that prohibited as a Yankee fan too???
July 15th, 2008 at 3:12 pm
Right Staci…. because Mets fans aren’t the same exact way?
You can tell by the tone of Chase’s voice that he wasn’t sincere. He didn’t say “F–K YOU!” and flip the crowd the bird or anything. By his tone, you could tell he was more in disbelief that he was being booed even though he was there voluntarily to entertain all baseball fans in general.
Also, by the way, I seem to remember the Mets fans emphatically cheering when Jimmy Rollins twisted his ankle at Shea.
Lets just agree that both Phillies fans and Mets fans make it fun/interesting for opposing fans to go to their ballparks? I personally think it has grown into a good rivalry over the past few years.
I don’t bash the Mets or their fans. Do I like it when they come to The Bank and act like obnoxious a-holes? No. But do I also realize that Phillies fans do the same at Shea? Yes.
Personally, I think Red Sox fans are the worst. They are 10x worse than Mets or Yankee fans! They are THE most obnoxious and about 80% of them have only been fans since 2004.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:14 pm
Nothing is worse than reading about a little bitch fight between Yankees and Phillies fans. Why don’t you all move to Jersey and stay where you belong.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
Disagree… I’ve been to numerous games with the Red Sox, Yankees, and Mets… at each stadium before, and at CBP.
Each NY team’s fan base is 100 times more obnoxious then the Red Sox fans.. trust me.
Hip-Hip-JORGE!!!…. Jose-Jose-Jose-Jose (instead of Ole!, Ole!, …) for every base hit.. for a strikeout… they go nuts. Thats what fans get pissed about.. if you dude hits an extra base hit, you score a run, make a highlight play in the field… go ahead and cheer for your team… but when your guys make routine plays and you act like a jerkoff… expect the fans to hate you
July 15th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Rick- Phillies fans are the worst by FAR. I have never seen so many underage drunk morons at one time. It’s the same at Eagles games or at the bars after the games when they all chant the stupid Eagles cheer. Honestly, I have been to Yankees fans and sat through the “26 rings” chant by a group of 18 year olds who can barely remember 1996. I’ve sat through games at Fenway too and they are not that bad. Philly, on the other hand, is filled with no class frat boys looking for fights. I’m sure the Mets have similar fans but nowhere near the amount of uneducated idiots.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
Mets fans are pickle-kissers like you, who go on the opposing teams fan-site …create the name “9-in-a-row” (which you guys sure could have used last year down the stretch, instead of this year, to still be trailing at the All-Star break”
and talk a bunch of smack from a computer.. that probably “fell off a truck”
July 15th, 2008 at 3:24 pm
I LOVE LOVE LOVE sitting next to FUN fans from opposing teams…and I have had great experiences with Phillies fans at Citizens Bank Park- since I live in DC, I’ve never seen the Phillies play at Shea (unfortunately)… Yes, I wear my Mets shirt…and I also let 10 year olds heckle me…I don’t say anything back…But, win or lose…if the nice Phillies fans sitting next to us want to take a look at my scorecard or have a friendly conversation…I’m all FOR IT. I must have looked totally dejected after hearing 3 generations of Phillies fans behind us yelling “FAGGOT PIG REYES” (I’m not even sure what that means…) thru 6 innings on Friday/ July 4th…because the Phillies fans (who are the reason, I say- NOT ALL) next to me leaned over and said “We’re not all like that I promise”…and I smiled and said “it’s nice to know that not ALL people like their 5 year olds to be yelling things like that at baseball games”….It was disappointing to be in such a beautiful stadium, with a playoff like atomsphere, so much tension, GREAT game (even in a loss for the METS)….to be treated so rotten. Yet, after hearing “don’t wreck on the turnpike” several times, we decided to buy tickets for Saturday night’s game….just to give Phillies fans another chance.
*sigh*
July 15th, 2008 at 3:28 pm
I tend to agree Rick. There are both low class and solid fans for all teams; even the Cardinals fans can be out of line. You seem like a sensible fan yourself. Having said that, while Utley made a mistake and owned up to it (and it wasn’t that big of a deal IMO), it is low class to celebrate an F-bomb on one of the larger national stages that is partially a family event. Staci, you seem to have a voice of reason too, but I’m not sure all Braves’ fans are classy. I just hope my kid doesn’t have to ask me at the next Mets-Phils game we attend why Phillies’ fans are wearing those “Boo. F— You” T-shirts. It’s been a great rivalyy. Keep it somewhat clean if you can. Agreed that Bosox fans are the pits.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:33 pm
Don M- I live in upstate New York so keep your unsolicited stereotypes to yourself. I think all fans are tired of being treated without any respect in Philadelphia. The reason I am on this website is to see what the Philly reaction was to Chase’s F bomb. I was not surprised to see it celebrated.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
I am a Phillies fan who is embarrassed by the rest of the fans. Why are we so obnoxious? Honestly, I hate to admit it by 9 in a row has a point. I will never take my kids back to Citizens Bank. It’s sad but the people on this post prove my point. Get a life people.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:40 pm
I’ve seen some bad fans in Boston and NY but Philly takes the cake. Those people are nasty and cruel. I saw a man spit on a child and the security guard refused to act. That says it all.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:41 pm
I think about 3 people “celebrated it” … I think it was completely uncalled for… and wearing a microphone, you need to be smarter then that..
All the stadiums are the same… if you dress like one of the players, cheer for routine plays, etc… the opposing fans are going to get on you.
If you keep to yourself, and cheer when its waranted.. home fans will actually stick up for you if drunks bother you… two years ago I had tickets in RF when the Cards were in town… FREEZING cold game.. and these younger cards fans.. college age dudes with girlfriends.. started getting peanuts, popcorn, change, empty beer bottles and all kinds of stuff thrown their way.. and a few of us started yelling stuff at the drunk Phils fans that were being tough.. until those guys got thrown out of the stadium..
I’m Chicago-bound for the Phillies-Cubs at the end of August, and i’ve heard that Cubbies fans aren’t so welcoming anymore, now that its “cool” to be a Cubs fan again in Chicago…
July 15th, 2008 at 3:43 pm
What are the odds a 3 anti-Phillies postings in a 7-minute span, from 3 different people….
July 15th, 2008 at 3:45 pm
The same odds of knowing someone with a bad experience in Philly.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:48 pm
hey 9 in a row, i live in NYC as well… so let’s not pretend that all of a sudden we’re a little safer than the people in philly. Maybe you should escape from your doorman upper east side apartment and visit a real part of the city. This is why most NYers hate yankee fans, coddled little turd burglars… as long as their big time city apartment isn’t all that much different than their westchester/long island/new jersey mommy’s pad. Won’t step 10 yards outside of yankee stadium and it’s squalor, but would gladly pay thousands for tickets… and save your retort, i’m from ny, live in nyc and wipe my own ass… go wash your gap khakis, fag.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:49 pm
get me 50 t shirts.
I never knew that utley has so much charisMa
July 15th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Giles, can you repeat that in English? Did you miss the part where I said I dont live in NYC? You sure do sound jealous though.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
Don M- Odds are pretty good I guess. I understand your point and I apologize for throwing you in the mix but the overall Philly mentality is disgusting.
July 15th, 2008 at 3:55 pm
I love it. Now the Mets fans are bashing the Yankees fans on a Phillies website. GO TO YOUR OWN F**KING WEBSITES!
Yes Philadelphia fans are the most passionate and knowledgeable fans in all of sport. However, we also demand excellence, but we never get it. We end up frustrated and yes we can get vulgar.
I was 11 years old when I had my first beer fall on me at a Phillies game (and I had all my Phillies gear on). I didn’t care then, and I don’t care now. Get rowdy at games, have fun. I know I do.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I think the problem is two-fold. Philadelphia fans are BY FAR the most passionate fans in the country. There is no doubt about that. They will go out to support their team no matter how they are playing but they will absolutely give them a piece of their mind if they are not putting out the effort. THAT SHOULD BE THE RIGHT OF EVERY FAN – WE PAY GOOD MONEY FOR THE CHANCE TO SUPPORT OUR TEAM. Unfortunately, because of this passion, and a lot of bad seasons (which fans have no control over – therefore Yankees fans are not better fans if their team happens to win more championships) Philly has accrued a reputation for being a tough place to play.
The other fact is the national media, has and always will perpetuate the stereotype that Philly fans are the rudest, crudest, most classless fans around. That simply is not true. I have been to sporting events all over the world and I don’t think a valid argument can be unbiasly made that there is really any difference. Everyone boos. Everyone gives it to opposing fans. Every stadium has a spattering of drunk assholes. That’s just the way it is. Philly fans are passionate. We may make some mistakes but I’d rather have that passion and not be afraid to show it then sit on my hands all game waiting for something to happen.
No one is perfect…except maybe Cards fans…but they are just TOO nice for comfort. So if all of you have nothing better to do than make comments on another team’s blog then at least stop repeating the same verbal diarhea that ESPN spouts off everytime a game is nationally televised from Philly and actually get your facts straight. The Santa Claus we boed was actually a drunk fan pulled out of the stands in a makeshift costume. Not even a ‘real professional’ fake guy.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
I love how you rationalize acting like that. It is NOT your right to boo, curse and act immature. I don’t care how much money you pay. You wonder why the free agents avoid Philly.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
The free agents avoid Philly because our teams have a history of not paying the big bucks for guys like Santana, A-Rod, etc.
People who play here and play their heart out earn our respect, and they love to play here. Just ask Rowand. He would have stayed if the organization would have shelled out the cash.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
9 in a row – Have you ever been to a ’soccer’ game in Europe? Most people would assume, because the media says so, that Europeans are classier and nicer than Americans. AS Roma had to shut their fans out of a game because they shot a flaming projectile at the referee.
I am absolutely not trying to condone anything beyond booing and a little shouting. I don’t go beyond that myself, however, what I am trying to do is place Philly fans into the context of sports fans as a whole.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
Just because soccer fans shoot flaming projectiles doesn’t give Philly fans the right to curse, spit, throw beer, challenge every opposing fan to a fight and make games uncomfortable for parents with children. I agree that Philly fans are probably better than the European fans we read about. Congratulations.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:24 pm
I will also add, that if we are citing personal experience, I happen to be a Phillies fan living in NYC. I have been to games at Shea when the Phils were in town and been thoroughly worked over by the Mets fans. I’ve had peanuts thrown at me constantly for innings on end, I’ve been heckled and stared down multiple times. You know what? I don’t care. I’ts classless yes, but its par for the course. Its their house and I am invading it. I understand that. I also keep my mouth shut and enjoy the game. I was just in Philly for the game on the 5th of July and I found Mets fans much less respectful of the fact that they were the road team. They started all of their obnoxious chants and flat out taunted the Phillies fans into action. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? If you ask for it, then get what you ask for I don’t see how you can complain. For my part, I left it well enough alone but this is just what sports has become. It is what it is. Its no worse in Philly then it is at Shea.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:26 pm
you’re a douche.. who has spent an entire afternoon not making any sense, or any valid points about how Phillies fans and Mets fans hate each other.. and aren’t all that welcoming to each others fans…
There are 3 Philadelphia athletes that don’t get booed… Utley, Brian Dawkins, and Mike Richards… because they give it their all.. when good seats to games cost $50+ … you have every right boo players that don’t give it their all…
I believe it was Mickey Mantle.. that said he hustled so hard every game because there might be some father who paid good money to bring his kid to the ball game for the first time.. and he didn’t want to cheat him…. THAT is class and the kind of guy every fan wants to root for
July 15th, 2008 at 4:27 pm
I hope 9-in-a-row in their longest winning streak for the next 20 years
July 15th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Don M – well said.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:31 pm
Don, You are right about Mantle that is why they say the Yankees are a class team
July 15th, 2008 at 4:32 pm
the t-shirts are coming…
July 15th, 2008 at 4:33 pm
What, no more towels?
July 15th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
The Yankees can be a class TEAM all they want but that word TEAM does not include the FANS.
July 15th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
Hey 9 in a row i live in England and I can assure you that Philly fans are nothing compared to the hooligans on the continent- in 1999 Leeds United had 2 fans stabbed in Istanbul before a game with Galatasary. Although booing Santa Claus almost what, 50 years ago, must make us the scum of the earth. Seriously mate find something better to do than come argue on a FIRST PLACE Phillies blog
In short; fuck off

Don M, you are the epitamy of what is wrong with society. You expect that athletes are born to entertain you. I will repeat, nobody is entitled to treat others with disrespect because you paid money to watch an event.
I’ve enjoyed my day in Phillie nation. What a waste of a few hours. Good luck Phillies fans. May you not kill each other or your players. Booooooooooooooo.

Good riddance

‘You expect that athletes are born to entertain you.’
Couldn’t have said it better myself. What are they doing playing a game on a field making millions of dollars while we watch them???? Are we not entertained????

Doesn’t this brainless, dickless, hopeless, helpless moron remember that one month ago all the Mets fans were booing Delgado and Randolph off a cliff ??
I actually think I’m a pretty nice guy,
I’m sad to see him go, but 9-in-a-row sure did a wonderful job of reminding Phillies fans why we hate Muts fans today… good thing he left.. he was almost late for his 5:00 start time at Pizza Hut as the delivery boy. Hope he gets nice tips tonight!

Who’s that?
July 15th, 2008 at 4:59 pm
The funny thing is that us Philly fans apparently have such a deepdown, ingrained propensity for violence and crude behavior, yet we seem to be pretty nice people when you get a group of us together….hmmmm

Actually, Giles’ comment was pretty well-stated, if somewhat mean spirited. Wouldn’t go running around telling everyone that you are from upstate though, 9 in a row… now that’s a fugged up place. I’m a native new yorker and philly fan in NYC and never wear any philly colors when I go to shea, it’s just not worth it. Although, I’m bigger than most of the muttsy losers who pick the fights, but I’m not about to try and handle 6 drunk dudes.

Who is shocked a Phillie was getting booed in NY, yeah the all-star game is at Yankee stadium but a ton of Mets fans are still going to get tickets. Every Red Sox and Phillies player they announce tonight is going to get showered in boo’s. Also lets be realistic here Phillies fans are some of the angriest fans out there and if the game was at CBP they would be booing the shit out of the Mets players.

Hah. A pissing contest with a Yankee fan.
First, I don’t buy that you’re a Yankee fan. Believe it or not, Yanks and Phils fans share a pretty good relationship. I’ve always been amazed. You’re likely a Mets fan too ashamed or afraid to show his true colors. In the event that you’re a genuine outlier, however…
I’m going to put it all out there. I’m an attorney in biglaw downtown, so no need to question my education or whether I live in a “trailor” (Trailor was a member of Michigan’s basketball team; you are thinking of a “trailer”–mistakes only discredit your arguments). Even if I did, it cannot be any worse than an 800 sq. ft. studio that costs $1999/month. I’ve seen New York real estate at its best and worst; the worst clearly outnumbers the best. You act as if New York does not have its mid-to-low income areas and folks who did not graduate PS-(whatever number you want to insert). Not every person walking the streets graduated from Stuyvesant. Get real.
I spend a lot of time between Philadelphia and New York because of my job. The only differences between the two cities are size and population. New York is clearly is overcrowded with folks who have this self-righteous belief in the superiority of their city. The funny part of it, however, is that it does not extend outside of the City/Long Island. In a way, New Yorkers are the same as “members” of “Red Sox Nation.” The rest of the country gives a collective, “Sure you are.” I see it in interactions between firms. And yet, at the end of the day, the success/failure rate of trials, disputes, etc. sits at a rough 50%. I am sure the same holds true for most other firms and employment. It’s alright to admit that your city, aside from size, is on the same plane as Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Phoenix, etc.
Check that. The high opinion of New York does extend out–to the Poconos. Do me a favor and keep your annoyingly loud, terrible drivers and their misbehaving children away from my property. Though Lackawanna and Monroe Counties are bending over to take it from New York (Scranton Yankees… what a maroon), the residents and long-term owners are not. In addition, stop buying houses in the Poconos, just so your children can take advantage of the superior school districts. For feeling fairly confident in the capabilities of New York, apparently your fellow city dwellers do not necessarily agree.
I particularly love, “When you think baseball you think A-ROD, JETER, RIVERA, MANTLE, RUTH and the list goes on.” This suggests to me that you’re roughly eighteen-years old. You hit on today’s players, plus two that anyone’s grandmother could name. Forget about the seventies-early nineties? Don’t wave the “I’m a superfan of the greatest team ever!” flag. You’re as bad as a girl in a Chase Utley jersey who cannot name two members of the Phillies’ bench or bullpen. You’re a fan, but a superficial one at best. (Note: I don’t condemn said girls; I just recognize that some fans are bandwagoneers and/or casual. No problem with it, but don’t act like you knew Schmidt personally or were heartbroken when the Phils lost in ‘93–despite being three years old.)
Classless fans? I love how folks always think Philly is the only city with fans that go beyond bounds of decency. I’ve been to Madison Square Garden and had insults and the like lobbed at my wife, who wore a no-name Flyers jersey. I’ve been to Shea after work with others, in a tie, with a Phillies hat, and had guys who can barely button their 1980s-era Mets replicas yelling at us and throwing wrappers, etc. Of course, we gave it right back. I have not been to Yankee Stadium, regrettably–for its history, but I imagine the interactions during Yanks-Sox games are just as ugly. Get off your high horse. Again, like the city itself, you’re no better than any other city.
As I believe I have made clear, either explicitly or implicitly: (a) most of your points are utter bullsh!t, and (b) New York suffers from a superiority complex, but in a world and country that sees New York on an equal plane. Sure, New York in the past laid claim to the hub of the country and world. Shoot, so did Pittsburgh and Carnegie/Frick at one time. But, times change, and like the Yankees, you’re not as great as you think you are, nor as you used to be.

I hope the National League wins tonight. The NL needs home field advantage so the METS can play at home in the world series. Closing out shea the right way. Damn right 9 in a row! Lets go Mets!

Thanks Syfo. I tried to make that exact point earlier today and the responses were less than comprehensible.

Well, since everybody else on the planet seems to have weighed in, I will too. I’ve been a Phils fan since the early 70s, and I don’t think it’s funny or great or whatever. He knew he was on the mic and he thought it was OK to drop the F-bomb? Sorry, I think it was crass and just gives more ammo to people who love to cut down our fans and our town. He should apologize, because it was not acceptable behavior. I’m sure he was mad or whatever, but I get mad too and I don’t get on the paging system at work and tell everyone to fuck themselves. Not classy, not classy at all.

This was the single most special moment in Phillies history that I have ever witnessed. Good for Utley. NY fans are idiots..

Yankee Fan,
I’m late to the party, but I read yer BS. I’ll buck 50 you right now. You coward pri#k. New York is the last stop before hell on the worlds train. Come get some h0m0. I’m surgical with the buck fity.

9 IN A ROW!
I think that refers to the number of games the Muts lost in a row as the coughed up the division. F#CK you New York, like the best hitter in the game, chase utley, said.
