I feel that at the Bank there is so many other things going on that some fans attending the game become distracted and aren’t necessarily paying attention to whats going on. On the other hand, Fenway is so small and old that the only thing to pay attention to is the game. While I know that the majority of the people that visit this site and post here have a genuine interest in the game, I can confidently say that about 25% of the people attending Phils games these days just go for something fun to do, and could care less whats going on in the field.

I do not know what you do to earn a living, but I can guarantee you that when (if) my level of performance at work drops off significantly, I am going to hear about it – one way or another. And if it happened like it is for “some” of our Phillies, it would be reflected in my annual salary increase and bonus. Like most of us on this blog, that is the harsh reality my friend. That is a major part of the problem. Everyday Joe’s paying a fortune to watch a game they love. A childs game of nothing but millionaires. I am partly to blame because, not only do I watch every single game on TV, I drive 90 miles round trip to pay to watch them as much as I possibly can, and I even fly to Florida to watch them play every March for one week. So yeah, I get it. It is my choice to do so, however frustrating it may be.

Although I love our Phillies, I will never blindly cheer for a ball player who appears to have given up. BTW, I have several Phillies jerseys (Rollins, Utley, Burrell, Hamels, Lidge) and every single game that I have gone to this year I have worn my Rollins #11 Red & White pinstripe jersey – just praying that Jimmy will find the heart of the NL MVP of last year. I don’t expect him to be the MVP again this year, but I certainly do not expect him to be the MVPunk either!

And as far as that stupid term of Frontrunner fans? I went to a week of spring training and watched 4 games and I have been to 18 regular season games so far this year at CBP. I have spent at the very least $7,000 going to Phillies games this year alone. And that is a lot of money for me. The one thing I want for my money is 100% effort from every player on the team. Is that to much to ask for? I think not. I understand that players can have slumps, but lack of effort is completely unacceptable too me. When a player demands a ton of money to play the game of baseball, they had better be prepared to produce to the level of their demands.
