Gamenight: Phillies (64-53) At Dodgers (58-59)

Posted by Tim Malcolm, Mon, August 11, 2008 09:36 PM

The Phillies went 3-3 on their homestand, taking a needed two from the Pirates over the weekend. Currently the Marlins are losing to the Cardinals, and the Mets have already lost to the Pirates, as their bullpen blew another game. Now the Phils begin a West Coast swing, starting with a four-game series at Chavez Ravine.

Mr. Pinch: Greg Dobbs has 21 pinch hits this season, which puts him seven behind the all-time record by John VanderWal.

Extra, Extra: The Phils have had an extra-base hit in 43 straight games.

Dominating Derek: Dodgers pitcher Derek Lowe has flat-out ruled the Phils, going 3-1 with a 2.84 ERA for his career.

Manny Being Manny: And just to let you all know, the Phillies are facing Manny Ramirez tonight. … And Casey Blake.

Phillies: Kyle Kendrick (10-5) 3.78 ERA
Dodgers: Derek Lowe (8-10) 4.10 ERA

Gametime: 10:10 p.m. EST
Weather: 78, sunny
Lineup: Rollins/Victorino/Utley/Howard/Werth/Dobbs/Ruiz/Kendrick

Your gamenight beer: Let’s go Polish tonight. We’re drinking Zywiec Beer. The Zywiec Brewery specializes in pale lagers, which are generally less alcoholic than pale ales. The brewery, founded in 1852, is now property of the Heineken company. To eat, have some kielbasa. Ay!

Go Phillies!

  1. Geoff Says:

tim: try zoomers orange wheat beer form michagan: QUALITY product

  2. Michael Says:

Let’s go Phils…. I am stiking with the tried and true.. Yuengling Lager from America’s oldest brewery!!

  3. Jamie Says:

    Tonight’s lineup:
    Rollins
    Victorino
    Utley
    Howard
    Burrell
    Werth
    Dobbs
    Ruiz
    Kendrick

  4. NEPA Says:

Marlins lost, great opportunity to start distancing ourselves a little. A.K.A, the Phils will lose because that seems to be the trend this year in these kind of spots.

  5. Tim Malcolm Says:

    Will do. Lineup is fresh.

  6. Geoff Says:

    werd

  7. Eli Says:

haha dobbs is starting. whoever was arguing about hima nd bruntlett for like 4 hours yesterday will have more to talk about as the game progesses lol

  8. Eli Says:

gotta love how all the teams around us keep getting better AKA Dunn going to arizona

  9. NEPA Says:

Haha I pray that argument doesn’t start up again. But if it does I’ll be favoring the side of Bruntlett as the starter/Dobbs as the pinch hitter.

  10. Fred Says:

Why would Dunn be a good pickup for this team? That’s all we need – more strikeouts.

  11. That Guy Says:

Let’s trade brett myers to the Muts for Fernando Tatis and his “pharmacist”.

  12. That Guy Says:

I like dobbs as the 3B and bruntlett on the hot dog gun

  13. Phil Says:

Way to waste a double by Utley.

  14. NEPA Says:

    Manny sucks.

  15. Geoff Says:

dunn is homerun or strike out. trash. we have too many of those guys already

  16. Geoff Says:

you know its bad when youre WANTING the phillies to get randy winn

  17. Brian Michael Says:

I like the beer choice, I’ve been to the factory. The Poles know how to make alcohol.

  18. NEPA Says:

What the hell is this balk? I didn’t see anything.

  19. Georgie Says:

I swear I’ll never understand the balk rules.

  20. NEPA Says:

    Balks are ridiculous.

  21. nate Says:

someone explain to me what happened there? he never stopped or anything. why a balk?

  22. Bill Says:

    What a POS call. Ridiculous!

    http://myteamrivals.typepad.com/phightin_phils_phorum/

  23. Matt Says:

Kendrick is getting squeezed. Lowe is getting his magic pitches on the corners called and Kendrick is getting squeezed.

  24. NEPA Says:

Yea, Wheels and Harry had a complete and utter lack of an explanation for that balk call.

  25. nate Says:

i bet L.A. (larry, not Los Angeles) hated that call.

  26. nate Says:

the espn guys said something about him “not stopping”, but i thought a balk was when you did stop, not didn’t stop.

  27. Matt Says:

Lowe’s last called strike was where?

  28. Georgie Says:

I think the balk is a dumb rule, especially since I don’t understand it.

  29. ma phanatic Says:

there seems to be an inconsistent strike zone tonight so far

  30. Geoff Says:

    wuss. make the play rollins.

  31. Mike W. Says:

Tough loss for the local little league squad tonight, woulda gone to the LLWS.

  32. NEPA Says:

ma phanatic, thats an understatement. There are 2 completely different strikezones being used tonight. Lowe’s is the size of a midsize SUV.

  33. Phil Says:

    Oh great…bases juiced for Manny.

  34. Geoff Says:

not good. still. ill accept a run allowed if he hits manny in the head.

  35. Phil Says:

    Good one Nepa.

  36. Geoff Says:

when theyre squeezing kendrick hes in deep shit. same with moyer

  37. Phil Says:

Is anyone else terrified of this situation?

  38. NEPA Says:

Yea, he’s not getting the calls tonight. We’re in trouble.

  39. Geoff Says:

damn. i have to say. this is totally biased umping. he HAS to throw it right in the groove to get a strike call on this guy

  40. Phil Says:

Yup, I knew that was coming. That’s the game. The Phillies offense can’t score 2 runs. Luckily my gf(a red sox fan she’s from Boston not a dumb bitch who likes the Sox for the sake of liking the Sox) isn’t in the room to have seen that and rub it in my face.

  41. Geoff Says:

now, when you get another out. someone has to get beaned. hard. intentionally, blatantly to send a message to the dodgers and the umpires

  42. NEPA Says:

Geoff, they’ll never throw at someone.

  43. Phil Says:

The Phillies offense is not scoring 4 runs.

  44. Georgie Says:

I wonder if Kendrick was rattled by that stupid balk call?

  45. Geoff Says:

time to get kyle out of there. right now. 4 runs is enough. get him out. kendrick is throwing meatballs in the middle of the plate because thats the only way he can get a called strike and the dodgers know it.

  46. Phil Says:

Have the Dodgers even scored 4 runs all year?

  47. Tim Malcolm Says:

This is pretty much not a good situation for the Phils tonight. What p’s me off most is these fairweather Dodger fans showing up and cheering crazily just cause they got Manny. Oh, NOW you root.

  48. Geoff Says:

they HAVE to. what is the proper response to biased strike zones? if the manager doesnt go and get thrown out then the pitcher has to hurt someone intentionally.

  49. Phil Says:

Yeah, these umps are horrible. They should all be fired.

  50. NEPA Says:

Last time Werth threw out someone trying to score an extra runs it proved key later in the game.

  51. Georgie Says:

Reminds me of the Flyers getting screwed by the officials.

  52. Geoff Says:

they need to get kendrick out of there, the umps have it in for him. start over and try to get to lowe. ive seen lowe give up 10 runs in an inning before earlier in the year

  53. Phil Says:

How many times a game does Wheels say, “He’s a very good athlete?”

I’m slitting my wrists as we speak.

  54. Tim Malcolm Says:

    Yikes.

  55. NEPA Says:

I agree, I’d love to see them put someone on their ass but they won’t do it. And now the game is over.

  56. Jamie Says:

These umps are flippin ridiculous. Kendrick has thrown a lot of pitches, but he’s not getting his calls like those Dodger-dick sucking umps are giving Lowe. Now, he’s getting shelled like Heilman. Time to get Condrey up.

  57. Phil Says:

    YEAH SHANE!!!

  58. Geoff Says:

im not mad at kendrick at all. hes been one of their steadiest guys all year. when theyre forcing you to throw over the middle of the plate to get a call then youre GOING to get pounded no matter who you are.

    awesome catch by victorino

  59. Geoff Says:

lowe and kendrick are the same pitcher. it goes to show how important the umps are when youre a sinkerballer.

  60. NEPA Says:

The umps just turned Kendrick’s outing into batting practice with their strikezone.

  61. Jamie Says:

The optimistic side of me finds two good things: First, no matter what happens, we don’t lose any of our lead over the Muts or Fish, and Second, We still have three AB’s of Dobbs coming up. The Natural is due, and so is Chase!

  62. That Guy Says:

Kendrick looks sharp tonight. He is missing a lot of bats. Filthy stuff. Unhittable

  63. Geoff Says:

greg dobbs might, MIGHT, get one hit tonight.

  64. NEPA Says:

Chase isn’t really that due. He’s got a double and a HR in his last like 2 or 3 AB’s.

  65. Geoff Says:

time to get to work now guys, start driving in runs.

  66. NEPA Says:

    So far so good here.

  67. Jamie Says:

NEPA, at least we’re lucky it wasn’t Home Run Derby. although 6 runs could just have well have been. Anyone notice Utley looks totally different at the plate tonight?

  68. Geoff Says:

    come on pat.

  69. NEPA Says:

That was an ugly at bat there for Pat, he’s usually much more patient.

  70. Geoff Says:

great example there. that pitch is at the middle shin of weth and its a strike???

  71. Georgie Says:

They said today on DNL that Utley is taking “anti inflammatories” for his hip. It probably feels better as the day progresses.

  72. Jamie Says:

WTF????? These GD umps are giving this prick any pitch he wants as a strike, and Kendrick is getting utter shit!

  73. NEPA Says:

This team is so frustrating to watch lately. Could be worse though, see: Mets.

  74. Georgie Says:

Bowa’s probably taking the umps out for steak and beer after the game.

  75. Phil Says:

    This is so ridiculous.

  76. Jamie Says:

Geoff, that was the same pitch I was talking about. How many times has this ass hat gotten that fuckin call tonight? This is ridiculous. I want to have the hardest throwing pitcher we have (healthy) in the bullpen come into the game, and I want Ruiz just to stay in a squat and have the pitcher fire a 96+MPH heater right between that fucker’s running lights.

  77. Geoff Says:

its worse with the mets, they blow leads like its their job

  78. Geoff Says:

someone has to get beaned. id have ruiz dive and sail that shit right into the umps groin area. take that, mob umpire

  79. Geoff Says:

antonio alfonseca wouldve been good for that task

  80. NEPA Says:

What’s the percentage chance Charlie gets thrown out of this game?

  81. Geoff Says:

kendrick is just hangin that shit up there. grooving the fastball in the middle of the plate. why is he still in the game?

  82. Eli Says:

aaron heilman is a saint for the phillies

  83. Jamie Says:

That would be hilarious! oh, and everyone, I apologize for all my fucking profanity – i’m just fed up with these umps. bastards!

  84. Geoff Says:

ive only seen him get thrown out once or twice all year

  85. Jamie Says:

NEPA, I’d say 3:1 he gets tossed by the bottom of the 7th. He’s gotta make it good, too.

  86. NEPA Says:

I think Charlie got thrown out of 2 straight games once this year.

  87. Eli Says:

evan longoria took the chase utley today

  88. Georgie Says:

If there’s one thing that pisses me off it’s biased officiating, gets my stomach in knots.

  89. Jamie Says:

Ruiz HAS to know that was ball four there. Unacceptable.

  90. Geoff Says:

jimmy short armed that one. ricky watters’ed it. get him out of my city

  91. Phil Says:

    This is pathetic.

  92. Phil Says:

This ump should seriously be fired.

  93. That Guy Says:

    Rollins=Bump Bailey

  94. Georgie Says:

yeah, Charlie’s starting to look extremely agitated.

  95. Tyler Says:

The Mets bullpen is a total joke without Wagner. It’s funny how most Mets fans were complaining how bad Wagner was doing. Now they see that we can’t close out a ball game in the 9th inning. Sucks. At least the Marlins and hopefully the Phillies lose since their already down 6-1 in the 4th.

    Ya gotta believe!

  96. Geoff Says:

allright, theyre trotting walrond out there. time to get reayd and go to bed.

  97. Jamie Says:

Oh, great everyone! Les Walrond is warming up! This will be 15-1 soon enough.

  98. NEPA Says:

    This game is extremely over.

  99. Geoff Says:

WTF? please just stall for time and take the man out of the game. let him recover and come back next time stronger. dont leave him out there anymore. damn it charlie.

  100. Phil Says:

Wow that ball 4 to Manny was a strike.

  101. That Guy Says:

Kyle kendrick needs Utley’s anti-inflamatories for his chapped ass

  102. Jamie Says:

    i can’t take it anymore.

  103. Georgie Says:

    Or maybe his vaseline!

  104. Eli Says:

great way to start the road trip

  105. Geoff Says:

this is whne i want to see one of our players do something disgraceful to the dodgers

  106. Greg V. Says:

I just want to thank the Phillies for telling me it’s time to go to bed. When Les Walrond comes in with loaded bases and 1 out when we’re behind 7-1, I think it’s safe to hit the sac.

  107. NEPA Says:

Can someone explain the Utley/vaseline thing? I heard he plugged it on TV somewhere or soemthing?

  108. That Guy Says:

Tyler: crawl back under your rock you cockroach!

  109. Georgie Says:

I think it was Jamie who saw it on ESPN.

  110. NEPA Says:

Haha, and the Walrus strikes out 2 just to spite us.

  111. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

I rarely get to see my Phils on TV….and I have to suffer through this one? “Manny, Manny, Kyle’s pitches are up, Manny, Manny, etc, etc.”.

Time to call it quits on my rare ESPN game… although Walrus just looked good.

Guess Lidge being perhaps unavailable ain’t gonna matter tonight.

  112. That Guy Says:

Walrond has already outpitched kendrick tonight

  113. NEPA Says:

Do you think Lidge would be unavailable tonight if we only needed him to throw 1 fastball at Manny’s snotbox?

  114. Georgie Says:

    Where’s Sarge tonite?

  115. That Guy Says:

Sarge is picking up his son’s HGH shipment from Tijuana

  116. Phil Says:

Utley 3 run blast right here? That would rule.

  117. Phil Says:

OH well…at least he moved the runners up.

  118. Phil Says:

Burrell is in a really bad slump. He needs to come out of that.

  119. Eli Says:

phillies got this game in the bag

  120. Eli Says:

and no progess made on a day were marlins and mets lost…great game.

  121. Mickey D Says:

    Jet lag?

  122. Mickey D Says:

Great week to pick up the Phils pitching for the ESPN Baseball Challenge. Thanks for nothing boys!

  123. Tyler Says:

That Guy, stop trying to be an asshole. I’m just trying to act nice and you gotta be a dick. I could be bashing the Phillies if I wanted but I don’t wanna come off like an asshole, just like you are.

  124. Mickey D Says:

    RALLY!!

  125. Phil Says:

    YEAH WERTH!!!

  126. Phil Says:

The thing that sucks is if we start bashing Lowe they’ll bring in their shut down bullpen.

  127. Mickey D Says:

That’s fine, we’ll bash their pen too. If they care score 6 in one, so can we.

  128. Phil Says:

Who wanted to start Dobbs? Something tells me Werth won’t score from his lead off double.

  129. Phil Says:

    Wow, Jenkins did something.

  130. Phil Says:

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

  131. Mickey D Says:

Phil, we might be the only two that didn’t give up. F the Doyers!!!

  132. NEPA Says:

    There we go Jimmy.

  133. Kyle Says:

Ruiz, what a defensive stud! Cost a run and couldn’t get a run in. How did that strike look?

  134. NEPA Says:

7-5 looks a lot better than 7-4 here. Come on Vic.

  135. Phil Says:

Good one Victorino. Way to make it a 2 run game. :(

  136. Mickey D Says:

Lets see if he rides pine tomorrow, nice hustle pineapple.

  137. Kyle Says:

Boy that catchers era was the real deal tonight.that’s my boy ruiz!

  138. Phil Says:

    haha Wheels is so dumb.

  139. Kyle Says:

No wait, let’s blame utley who has two doubles or Howard who has 2 rbis or Rollins who has a triple and rbi. Nope ruiz is awesome. Where would we be without him?

  140. Phil Says:

We can also blame Burrell for coming up super clutch in huge situations…

  141. Kyle Says:

Sure. But how bout that catchers era! He came through!

  142. Mickey D Says:

Or, we can blame the rain delay.. or, Kyle’s poor location..

  143. Kyle Says:

Mickey, its not about how good a pitcher is, but how good the catcher is. Haven’t you been reading Phil? Ruiz is the man!

  144. NEPA Says:

What are you guys talking about with this catcher’s era stuff? I have the game on mute.

  145. Phil Says:

Kyle, you obviously weren’t watching Kendrick’s strike zone. It was the size of an ice cube, not to mention that ridiculous balk call.

  146. Kyle Says:

You’re right. The umps cost the phils the game. How many runs did the phils score the inning on the balk? Phil? How many? 5? 3? I forget

  147. Kyle Says:

You’re right. The umps cost the phils the game. How many runs did the dodgers score the inning on the balk? Phil? How many? 5? 3? I forget

  148. Phil Says:

Actually, the umps did cost the Phillies the game, and I’m not one to usually make shitty excuses like that. I’m not going to jump all over Ruiz because the umps are douche bags.

  149. Kyle Says:

Who threw the ball into centerfield? Who stared at a ball right down the middle? Tim mclelland?

  150. Christian Says:

This team really is starting to feel like the 2007 Mets. The Mets let countless opportunities slip away in August and July last year to distance themselves from the rest of the division and never took advantage… kind of like what the Phils have done all month, and tonight. And the Mets, with their now spunky and younger offense and awful bullpen are actually starting to feel like the 2007 Phillies, only with a starting rotation that’s like 100000 times better. I don’t like this feeling at all.

  151. Phil Says:

wah wah wah let’s scapegoat Ruiz when the players that are supposed to be doing something don’t get it done.

  152. Eli Says:

    go eagles

  153. Christian Says:

    Nice at-bat werth

  154. Kyle Says:

You’re right. Ruiz is like a second pitcher. Let’s not hold him at all accountable on offense. Nothing to see here!

  155. Eli Says:

yet again the offense loses this game. we had how many guys on base this game taht never got home?

  156. Mickey D Says:

My guess is the dudes are tired, not an excuse, but there’s no bounce in their step. J-Roll isn’t making serious move for the plays his way… I could be wrong.

  157. Kyle Says:

Eli, the other team had 7 runs. Might our pitching be at fault?

  158. Christian Says:

Oh but Kendrick was getting hosed on calls and had a really small strike zone. It had nothing to do with his ERA over 4 and his WHIP almost at 2.

  159. NEPA Says:

    Well, goodnight.

  160. Christian Says:

Excuse me… Kendrick’s ERA is well over 4. 4.75 to be exact.

  161. Mickey D Says:

Yeah, that about does it. It’s starting to look like the Phillies I grew up watching…

  162. Tyler Says:

“And the Mets, with their now spunky and younger offense and awful bullpen are actually starting to feel like the 2007 Phillies, only with a starting rotation that’s like 100000 times better.”

I like the way you think Christian.

  163. Phil Says:

So Dobbs got his base hit that Geoff call in the top of the 9th. He would have pinch hit in that situation anyway.

  164. Mickey D Says:

    or not…

  165. NEPA Says:

God, why does this team always find a way to make it interesting? Can’t they just lay down in die like the Phillies teams of the past/

  166. Mickey D Says:

This is getting real interesting boys!

  167. Phil Says:

If Utley hits a grand slam here it will be the most glorious thing ever.

  168. Mickey D Says:

    NEPA – LOL!

  169. Phil Says:

Well, there goes my delusions of grandeur of Utley hitting a grand slam if he’s swinging at garbage like that.

  170. Phil Says:

    UTLEY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  171. NEPA Says:

holy shit yes. i’ll take it.

  172. Christian Says:

Great, now it’s just going to be even more depressing when they lose.

  173. NEPA Says:

I have no confidence in Howard in this spot.

  174. Christian Says:

    Yep.

  175. NEPA Says:

    and that’s why. Jesus christ.

  176. Christian Says:

Of course they had to do that. They couldn’t just lose. They had to lose like that. Howard sucks.

  177. Eli Says:

    ………………

  178. Phil Says:

Ugh. That shift fucking sucks. Can’t Howard learn how to hit the ball to opposite field ever?

  179. Mickey D Says:

Grrr… well, at least they didn’t roll over and die. Tomorrow.

  180. Tyler Says:

I got scared got a second there.

  181. Tyler Says:

I got scared for a second there.*

  182. Eli Says:

    what a f***ed up game.

  183. Tyler Says:

I was watching on GameCast, what was wrong with Howard’s swing?

  184. Mickey D Says:

I don’t know about Howard… it’s like Shaq with the free throws, the dude is just too one dimensional.

  185. Eli Says:

16 hits the dodgers got today. that is usually what they get over 3-4 games.

  186. Christian Says:

They didn’t roll over and die? – whatever. A loss is a loss is a loss. Terrible starting pitching as usual. Terrible situational hitting as usual. No ground gained. A wasted opportunity against a mediocre team. Awesome.

  187. Phil Says:

We’re going to lose 3 of 4 in this series.

  188. Eli Says:

i completly agree. a great opportunity wasted, when we could have easily won that game.

  189. Christian Says:

If we lose 3 out of 4 this series, say goodbye to first place. I think we’ll split though.

  190. Phil Says:

They need to go 4-3 on this road trip, right now I just don’t see it happening.

  191. Phil Says:

The ump tonight should be fired.

  192. Christian Says:

The Padres are awful. Then again, where they play – it aint no bandbox like Citizens Bank, where routine fly balls turn into homeruns, so I worry about our offense there. 4-3 is do-able, but they are looking like 2-5 right now.

  193. Christian Says:

Cmon man, enough about the damn ump. Kyle Kendrick sucks. Okay? – He sucks. If he didn’t average something absurd like 7 runs per game in run support in the first half, he’d have no wins. His WHIP is 1.52. 1.52!!! Kyle. Kendrick. Sucks.

  194. J-Man Says:

Well this is how it usally goes, when the offense shows up,the pitching forgets to and when the pitching show up,the offense forgets to…The Phils pitching as usual is a fucking joke.

  195. Eli Says:

Just another absurd night for a phillies fan. Game is “over” within the first 3 innings. Phillies crawl back only to lose in the end because of Ryan “Groundout” Howard. This team amazes me because they have the caliber to be the best team in the NL if everything was working at the same time. AKA Pitching and Hitting, not just one of the two.

  196. Christian Says:

Phils bullpen is great, but there is nothing really to be “working” with our starting pitching. We have a pseudo-ace and four #5s.

  197. J-Man Says:

Agreed Christian Kendrick ain’t no good he usally just gets alot of run support…If Hamels got the run support Kendrick usally gets,he prolly wouldn’t have any losses.

  198. Eli Says:

    go eagles.

  199. rob Says:

Is anybody willing to concede that the NL East just isn’t very good?

  200. Phil Says:

To me this was one of those you can’t win them all games. Now that I have took a deep breath I’m not as upset about this loss. You really can’t win them all. The baseball season is a really long season. The offense did hit tonight, and that’s promising.

  201. Phil Says:

Oh, I totally forgot to mention that the offense hit a very good bullpen tonight.

  202. Phil Says:

4 #5’s Christian? Last time I checked a 3.81 ERA doesn’t constitute you as a #5 starter. Most #5 starters don’t pitch 7 scoreless innings with no run support. I could keep going if you’d like.

  203. Rob Says:

    “Terrible starting pitching as usual”

I’d like to see evidence to back this statement up. As far as I can tell this was a rather unusual early blowup. Shouldn’t have squandered the consistent outings they’ve been getting all along. This is Kendrick’s like once every 4 starts blowup that keeps his era up there.

At least they managed to patch together some innings and manufacture runs, albeit too little too late.

The big boys are down and out right now. Get Howard and/or Burrell going pleaseeeee.

Good game by Utley and Rollins. Victorino showed some heart, but that middle lineup needs to extend rallys so the back end can flip over the lineup.

  204. Mark Says:

Ugly! Kendrick was real ugly, and so was Howard with that shift. He’s gotta hit to the left side of the infield.

  205. Geoff Says:

Kendrick is the least of their problems. The NL East is just a garbage division, plain and simple. The Phillies have to win this division, its simply not that good at all. Thats exactly right, rob. The phillies have failed to capitalize on several strong performances from him this year, as well as ALL of their other starters. I estimate AT LEAST 12-18 wins have been squandered by the offense failling to score AT ALL for strong starting potiching performances.

  206. NJ Says:

There’s positives to take out of last nights game, every pitchers going to get tagged once in a while but the offense responded and although we took the loss we worked the Dodgers pitching and made them pay for the win, in game 1 of the series thats good baseball if you can capitalise in games 2 and 3.

  207. Geoff Says:

Keendrick got squeezed, plain and simple. Hes a location sinkerballer. He doesnt have the stuff to overcome being pinched at this point in his carreer. If you have to throw it over the middle of the plate in the happy zone to get a strike called, then youre going to get knocked around unless youre stuff is just plain filthy.

  208. Phil Says:

I’d much rather see this team lose 8-6 than 1-0. Anyone else agree?

  209. Geoff Says:

agree. USA baseball starts tomorrow at the olympics. i hope theyll air it instead of some of the other garbage theyve got on there.

  210. Phil Says:

Yeah, me too Geoff. I wanna see Lou Marson and Jason Donald rake.
