Bruce, I was referring to the runs they scored in games over the last week. I’m a realist – I know teams do not score an average of 8 or 9 runs a game – I was insinuating that I’d like to see the same offense that produced 7 runs, 8 runs, and 9 runs, respectively in the past week, do it again over the next few games.

Any team that scores 5+ runs should have a chance to win…

643 runs/ 133 games = 4.849 per game for our Phillies, and with a Team ERA of 3.86 …. we’re pretty solid. 4th in the NL in both catergories.

East:
Mets = 660 runs, 4.01 ERA
Marlins = 617 runs, 4.47 ERA

Central:
Cubs = 729 runs, 3.75 ERA
Brewers = 635 runs, 3.85 ERA
Cardinals = 652 runs, 4.17 ERA (with Dave Duncan as pitching coach)

West:
DBacks = 612 runs, 3.97 ERA
Dodgers = 546 runs, 3.73 ERA (best ERA in NL, 3rd overall behind Jays, and Rays)

To Jamie~ “revert to their 7, 8, and 9 runs per game”… huh ? Since when in real baseball life (although there are some here prefer this to be a baseball fantasy blog where one can “blow” up the team willy nilly..chuckle) the Phillies or any team for that matter can consistently score that many runs?

Can somebody please tell me why so taguchi is still on this team?? I gotta believe that marson or donald could come up and hit better then .200 and contribute more then one clutch hit before the seasons over
