Kris Benson is washed up, he wasn’t even that good before his 25 arm surgeries . I hope they don’t let him come in to ruin our playoff run.

With that being said, calling up a class A guy with so-so numbers is a bit of a head scratcher too.

if the guy has been as solid for the last month or so as i’ve read, we’re lucky to have him in the minor league system. bringing him up now may present a problem, it may not, but we gotta give him his shot now, maybe he’ll do awesome and he’ll help the org make a push into october, you never know. Plus, i would just KILL for a Philadelphia Phillies Carpenter jersey!!!

I’m sure they’ll option him before or near the beginning of the cubs’ series, this is probably only in case of an emergency.

Well this is obviously for a long relief situation if one were to occur tonight but I hope it doesnt. Dont wanna tire the whole pen before the Cubbies because we’ll be seeing the bullpen alot there if our starters make the tiniest of mistakes. Hoprfully he works out though.

its a intresting move and i saw him the 22nd at trenton and he pitched pretty well: 7.0 ip 2 H 1R 0ER 2bb-8k (win ). The Thunder lineup is pretty good and he shut them down.

Wow, that’s a shock. Hopefully we’ll see the good Carpenter (2007 Carpenter or mid-July 2008 onwards Carpenter) who pounds the strike zone and mixes his average pitches well. If the early 2008 (overweight) Carpenter rears his head, things could get ugly.

Congrats to Andrew. Hopefully Kendrick can go 6 or 7 tonight to take some stress off the bullpen, and we can see Carpenter make his debut another time.
