Your gamenight beer: Hoping for big things from our No. 5, Pat Burrell, I recommend Racer 5 from the Bear Brewing Co. This APA will have you flying down a smooth pavement in no time. Actually, I’m not even sure about that. I can probably say with confidence that’s not the case. Anyway, get some Pad Thai tonight. And go Burrell.
Go Phillies!

Cubs Clinched the division, plus brewers just blew a lead and are currently losing 4-2 in the 7th.
September 20th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
Ugh. This sentence is not very most confidence-inducing. I knew I was right to be worried about this series. Godspeed, Joe Blanton.
September 20th, 2008 at 6:58 pm
Both the Mets and the Phillies will make the playoffs.
NLDS-
Mets vs Dodgers
Phillies vs Cubs
September 20th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
I anyone is going to be at the Grey Lodge tonight… I’ll be there.

September 20th, 2008 at 7:12 pm
Brew Crew lost with tying run at third and Prince Fielder striking out.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
The brewers are just freefalling.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:19 pm
Ok, someone could’ve made a lot of money had they bet that Blanton would strike out the first inning 1-2-3…..
September 20th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
wow the CF is hitting .750, LMAO
September 20th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
I didn’t know Nolan Ryan was pitching for us tonight.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:21 pm
Pedro isn’t looking too hot for the Mets right now.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
Plenty of innings left
September 20th, 2008 at 7:25 pm
…looks like a great night for a phillies win.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:26 pm
Braves ahead 3-0. Man, Cody Ross robbed Dobbs there of a possible double/triple and RBI.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:36 pm
I did not expect such a good start from Blanton.
Cheers!
September 20th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Airmail express
September 20th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Nice way to throw the ball Fish!
September 20th, 2008 at 7:41 pm
*cue circus music*
September 20th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
CMON CHASE!!
September 20th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
Good job Chase.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:44 pm
look! Chase getting line drives!
September 20th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
Those were some shitty calls by the umpires!
September 20th, 2008 at 7:47 pm
That’s a big strikeout there for Sanchez.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:48 pm
That is what we call a frustration strike out. Swing and miss at high fastball because umpire’s strike zone is wide on the at bat.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Why is the Marlins stadium so empty ALWAYS?? Do people follow that team?
September 20th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
The strike zone has been large for both teams
September 20th, 2008 at 7:55 pm
Yea, SJ Mike, but this home umpire’s zone is pretty messed up!
September 20th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
I heard they had 20K people there last nite, big crowd for them.
September 20th, 2008 at 7:58 pm
Damn it Blanton why throw to the middle of the zone with a 0-2 count?
September 20th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Georgie, I think that’s less than the Nats!!
September 20th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Early in the season they were playing the Mets or Yankees, and there were more NY fans there than Marlin fans. It’s sad because those guys do play their butts off, great errors though!
September 20th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
SHANE!!
September 20th, 2008 at 8:05 pm
Good job Vic!
September 20th, 2008 at 8:12 pm
And the Oscar goes to Dan Uggla for leaning backwards on a ball nowhere near to his face.
September 20th, 2008 at 8:19 pm
Those are some sad looking ball boys.
September 20th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I have a bad feeling about this Cantu at bat.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:00 pm
Hey Rob, if you’re still there, I went to the Grey Lodge website just for fun, and saw that Tommy Conwell was playing somewhere. I can’t believe he’s still doing gigs, I guess I’m not as old as I thought!
September 20th, 2008 at 9:16 pm
Mets down 4-2 in the bottom of the 7th.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Holy shit SJ, I thought I was the only one home watching the game.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
I love how Wheeler can’t stop talking about No Doubles defense. He loves this concept so much that he made up synonyms for this word. I mean its usually in the 7th but he dropped it in the 6th. Gotta Love this lovable loser
September 20th, 2008 at 9:22 pm
Nope, I’m in for the night. Though I’ve been doing computer work the whole time….
September 20th, 2008 at 9:25 pm
Hubby’s out for game night, playing Call to Cthulu or something like that, so I’m hangin with the Phils.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:29 pm
I found this amusing (and hypocritical). From Metsblog:

Thank GOD the Shea faithful never came up with some lame chant, complete with a lame arm motion.
If I had to watch all Mets home games with something like the Tomahawk chop 100 times a game…..
So basically screaming “Let’s Go Mets” over and over as fast as you can repeatidly is exempt from this?
September 20th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
CB Bucker’s strike zone is awful. I usually hate the Cowboy Joe West crew.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:32 pm
man, jc sure will walk some folks
September 20th, 2008 at 9:42 pm
Did you hear the guy yelling at Jimmy “hat trick, hat trick”? He sounded like he was totally shnockered.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:43 pm
Yeah I heard him too.
Mets lose 4-2.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:46 pm
Here comes a scary 8th inning, this game is so huge.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
Understatement of the year.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
I might not watch this inning.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:54 pm
It’s been nice to see the Phils hold the Marlins to only 2 runs this long, but that 8th inning always kills us.
September 20th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
HOW DO YOU NOT BRING IN LIDGE.THIS IS THE GAME RIGHT NOW
September 20th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
OK, breathe…..
September 20th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
YES! 2nd and 3rd, no out and they get no runs. Unbelievable.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Didn’t kill us. It must have made us stronger.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
I missed most of it, I’ve gotten into the habit of muting the tv and closing my eyes for the 8th.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:09 pm
Believe it or else…..I am looking for a Phillies win.Anything to knock those blind, stinkin, hated Anchovies down and that far out of a playoff spot.I can sacrifice 1st for one day as long as the Marlins are long out of it come Thursday when its party time at Shea and CBP.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:11 pm
Grumpy Miner, I think Mets and Phils fans are in agreement that we both would not want the Marlins in the postseason because they are pesky and scary.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:14 pm
Pesky and scary, yes, but blind, stinkin, hated anchovies??? Miner, tell us how you really feel.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
I may have to mute and cover for the 9th too.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:20 pm
Thank god I’m already drinking
September 20th, 2008 at 10:21 pm
I’m freaking out watching this
September 20th, 2008 at 10:25 pm
lol geo……..my hatred for the Marlins goes as deep as my hatred for the Dolphins.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:26 pm
omg, what happened?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:27 pm
Ball or bat went right into CB Bucknor’s head.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
Marlins fans are cheering that he got hurt and booing that he got up and was “alright.”
September 20th, 2008 at 10:28 pm
This poor dude is having a rough nite.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:29 pm
yet they are pesky, and I hate them for hammering the final nail in the 2007 season and basically enjoying it.Oh and don’t get me started on the fanbase. If the Marlins are going to make the playoffs or make it,Bankrupt Underwear stadium is sold out to the rafters….any other time,NOBODY shows up at the games.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:30 pm
One more out LIDGE, cmon!!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:31 pm
Sorry for the repetitions….getting hammered as we speak
September 20th, 2008 at 10:32 pm
Miner- really? I couldn’t tell.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
PHILLIES WIN!!!
LIDGE = AWESOME!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
Was anyone as confused as Harry was on that strike out?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:34 pm
No one is as confused as Harry anymore.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Lidge is awesome. What a save!
September 20th, 2008 at 10:35 pm
Anyone see the lights go off in the stadium right after the save? Like “thank you for coming, now GET OUT.”
Man, this win was huge.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:37 pm
Man how classless are them fans down there cheering when the ump gets hurt, and they like to talk about our fans, but man what a huge save by Lidge tonight.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
An always competitive team that has won two World Series in the last few years really ought to have more and better fans. What a shame.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
I’m wide awake now with nothing to do, I should join Rob at the Grey Lodge, but it’s too long of a road trip at this hour.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:48 pm
This is the first time it seems like there were fans there in Florida. It was semi-packed and loud.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:53 pm
Marlins fans=frontrunners.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:55 pm
And brad lidge is awesome
September 20th, 2008 at 10:56 pm
Geoff, Geoff, Geoff, where are you during the games?
September 20th, 2008 at 10:57 pm
It annoys the crap out of me though that the Marlins fans cheered when Bucknor got hurt and booed when he was going to get up. Now if that were in Philly, it would be front page of the New York times, ESPN, and anywhere else saying how we’re the worst fans ever.
September 20th, 2008 at 10:58 pm
That is true, SJ.
September 20th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
sometimes i go to the local bar
September 20th, 2008 at 11:07 pm
I noticed you usually come in after the game is over, funny comment last nite.
September 20th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
lol yeah
September 21st, 2008 at 1:09 am
Non-troll Mets fan:
I find it ironic some of you guys are complaining about the Bucknor incident when if you remember earlier in the year…
Jose stole 2nd at CBP and hit his head on Utley’s knee. He looked hurt and stayed on the floor with his hand on his head. The crowd at CBP was cheering, and when he stood up and stayed on 2nd the crowd booed.
Now, if you are pissed about the Bucknor incident and are okay with the Reyes one, its called hypocrisy. I for one, don’t mind either. To be honest, I wouldn’t mind Howard or anyone else having an injury which keeps them off the line-up. As long as it isn’t anything serious, I know baseball is a game.
September 21st, 2008 at 1:17 am
Its not hypocrisy.. the umpire is neutral, reyes was an apposing player.. theres a dfference, not a big one but there is a difference. Its as if a ball girl was hit with a batted ball and went down.
Phillies fans dont like reyes its to be expected.
September 21st, 2008 at 9:35 am
Are you serious? Just because he is an opposing player it’s ok to cheer if he is hurt?
September 21st, 2008 at 8:32 pm
yes. i was at that game and they let him sit there for about 15 mins to get his stuff together. if he was really hurt he should have been out of the game, thats what pissed me off. he milked it.
