This move had to be made - The move basically gives up a 45-50% chance of beating Santana. I say 45-50% because the Phillies have trouble against lefties, and the Mets have a little more balance in the order.

J-Man, I think they skip Kendrick's start entirely, and just come back to him when it is his turn in the rotation again. I know most people want Kendrick out, but I think he can be a serviceable 5th starter if he can just learn to pitch inside to lefties and keep them off guard. He has hit 14 batters this season: 12 righties, 2 lefties and faced almost the same amount of each. That just shows that he is afraid to pinch tight to lefties - Lefties are hitting .340 against him on the year, and showing no fear in the batter's box.

Positive and essential move, Myers would have been a viable candidate if he wern't on short rest that day. This could be an essential match in whats likely to be a rubber or a series saver.

If he blows out his arm along the stretch, we're screwed... Shouldn't we be relying a little more on Dubee and Cole's opinions on this one rather than the old man's?
