Report: Iguchi Returning To Phillies

Posted by Tim Malcolm, Fri, September 05, 2008 03:35 PM

Welcome back, Tad.

The Phillies have come to an agreement with Tadahito Iguchi, according to Todd Zolecki.

Nothing else on the acquisition yet, but Iguchi will provide nice bench help. He was a key cog last season, hopefully he can help out again.

Yes, i always liked this guy. hes having a bad year compared ot alst year but hes a good team guy. hell bring a positive hitch to this whole thing.

i disagree about romero. romero has had a bad year. scott eyre is the 8th inning guy.

  2. Dennis Says:

I love this move! It beats Bruntlett or Taguchi thats for sure.

  3. Jim D. Says:

    Bonsai!!!!!!!

  4. Derek Says:

Now that we have Iguchi we meet our Japanese quota….so can we please get rid of So Taguchi?

  5. themerchandise Says:

seconded.. seeya later, so! would have loved to have gotten tad 5days sooner in case he really does turn it on but at this point well take everything we can get. Lets go fightins!! Ph the mets!!!

  6. Eb Says:

Derek….The Asian QUota you mean??? So Taguchi is Korean and he an awfl baseball player.

  7. Whisky Priest Says:

Actually Ed, So was born and raised in Nishinomiya, Hyogo, Japan.

I’m hoping this means that he’s actually decided to try for third base.

  8. NJ Says:

I guess he is Korean… If that means people from Japan are Korean

I had some Sushi at lunch on Wednesday…

  10. Bill Says:

Other than the sentimental value, I am not sure about this pick up. Does he really help the bench? Unless Milt Thompson can work some magic with him (unlike he has done with the rest of the team) a .220 hitter is not what we need in a pennant race down 3 games.

I do agree he is better than Bruntlett offensively (again not saying much), but he does not play SS and he is probably not as good as Eric at third base.

  11. philsphan Says:

If he can rekindle the 07 magic and help out Taguchi, great. If not, we might as well bring up Jason Donald and see what he can do.

  12. NJ Says:

Just for a heads up he wont be play-off eligable although that might not matter by monday

  13. KM Says:

I like the move, I just wish he could play a little 3rd.

  14. Geoff Says:

well, why dont we ask him to play sh ort? ESPECIALLY if hes never done it before, that way, we can just, outright, RELEASE j-hole and pay him to go away. yes, taguchi and donald platoon at short, yes.

  15. Chris.I Says:

I’m really feeling this alot..Iguchi is the man, I don’t care how much he stunk it up in San Diego. He’ll perform much better in Pin Stripes…Besides, Red is more of his color

  16. J-Man Says:

Tadahito Iguchi back…I think he’ll be better here San Diegos ballpark is a pitchers park.

  17. richie ashburn Says:

oh my god, I hope taddy comes back. All the phillies boys said he gave the best blow jobs of anyone in the locker room. Except for Jimmy.

  18. Jimmyboy rollins Says:

That’s not true. Ryan Howard swallows manmeat like no other. He took me and victorino at the same time.

Philadelphia is such a stinking shithole of a city. Any way you slice it its just a little chunk of turd that slipped out of new yorks ass. Except for the liberty bell, of course.

What are you talking about? Clearly you don’t understand that we phillie fans are little crybaby pussies. Just because all our sports teams suck doesn’t mean we dont get to cry like insolent little babies.
