Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles

8:22 p.m. / 69, sunny
Jamie Moyer (16-7, 3.71 ERA) vs. Hiroki Kuroda (9-10, 3.73 ERA)

It’s game three of the National League Championship Series, as Jamie Moyer faces off against Hiroki Kuroda at Chavez Ravine.

Kuroda has dominated the Phillies this season, while Moyer is coming off a tough, short start against Milwaukee in the NLDS. That remains the Phils only playoff loss to date.

He is hitting just .222 this postseason. … Jimmy Rollins only struck out 55 times in 137 games this season. In the postseason (six games), he has already struck out six times.

Your Gamenight Beer

I have the six-pack Brewmaster’s Collection from Sam Adams. It has the honey brown, the Irish red and this — Black Lager. It’s dark, but not strong to where you’d gag through the drink. I’d eat it with some slow-cooked ribs, something that takes a day to make. By now, if you haven’t cooked, you’re cooked, but hey, you can still enjoy this as the old man goes to work. Big game tonight. A win, and the Phils are a win away from the Series. Let’s do it.

Go Phillies!

  1. Amanda Says:

This is going to be the toughest game of the series. Kuroda owned the Phils this year. Manny has 10 HRs off Moyer in his career.

  2. Robbi P Says:

Good Beer selection but here is one people may not know about. Left Hand Brewing Company Oktoberfest. It should go well since it is October Baseball and we have a crafty lefty going on the mound!

  3. Rob Cowie Says:

I’m heading down to the GreatPlaza at Penns Landing for the Phils party, then walking to work at 5th and Market around 10ish or so.

Huge game for the squad here as Kuroda is awesome at home and also against the Phils.

Hopefully they can finish this series out in LA.

  4. RichieAllen Says:

wow Kruker just picked the phils to win tonight….I guess there is a first time for everything.
    GO PHILS..cant wait

  5. RichieAllen Says:

By the way Tim…good call on the beer for tonight..the black lager is stupendous

  6. NEPA Says:

    1 hour left.

  7. Jamie Says:

I’m stoked for tonight’s game. Let’s go Phils! If we can put this one away, things will be looking EXTREMELY good for us.

  8. Jamie Says:

I wonder what Derek Lowe’s stats are on pitching on short rest. He’ll only have 3 days rest when he pitches tomorrow — anyone know where we can find those stats at?

  9. Keith Says:

    go Phillies!

  10. Joe Durbin Says:

Did anyone get wind of the Tommy Lasorda incident at game 2?
I was at the game with Chad’s wife, my daughter and some friends.
After the game Tommy was coming up the steps when a Phillies fan stuck out his hand to say hello. Tommy slapped his hand out of the way and kind of shoved him saying to get the hell out of the way. There were people with camaras right there. I thought for sure someone would have gotten that out to the public.

    Go Phillies!

  11. NEPA Says:

Joe – I actually saw that on TV. He looked extremely pissed and I saw him sort of shove the guy out of his way.

  12. Amanda Says:

    Richie Allen,

It’s actually NOT a good thing if Kruk picks the Phils. His predictions are almost always the opposite of who he picks! lol.

  13. SJ Mike Says:

For being a local guy, Lasorda really has developed a huge dislike for the Phillies (especially the Phanatic).

So it doesn’t surprise me that he’d react that way.

    Almost game time!

  14. NEPA Says:

Yea, I know he really hates the Phanatic because he stomped on and ran over a dummy that was wearing a Lasorda jersey.

  15. Jim Says:

Lowe pitches alright on short rest. I think he’s two and 1 this year with a 4 sumtin era but he pitched in game 7 of the alcs against the yankees on 2days rest with 6 innings 1 run 1 hit not bad

  16. SJ Mike Says:

Nepa, not only that, I seem to remember the Phanatic feeding the doll Ultra Slim Fast, which Lasorda was promoting at the time.

  17. T Marty Says:

F- Fox, on the Dodger bandwagon from the getgo. Mannywood. c’mon. getting my am radio set up to listen to the game, can’t hear these f-ers anymore… Go Phils!!!

  18. NC Jason Says:

I was at the last two games so this is the first game I am watching. Could Mark Grace kiss the Dodgers’ and Manny’s ass any more? What is up with the constant comments about the Phillies fans? Watching FOX one would not know who the Dodgers were playing. Mark Grace is a duche

  19. nate Says:

8:16… they just showed a shot of the stands… half empty… ridiculous… oh and tiger woods is there… whoop dee doo

  20. SJ Mike Says:

Fox definitely has some man love for the Dodgers.

Nate, my best friend flew from Virginia today and got tickets to tonight’s game in LA, completely on a whim.

  21. CT Says:

i have a bad feeling about this game. it just doesn’t seem like the right pitching match-up to me. i actually had a dream (err, nightmare) last night that the score was like 8 – 12 with the Dodgers winning.

my gut tells me Moyer’s going to have trouble early and the bullpen will have to step up again. BUT, my heart hopes that he goes at least 6 and gives up 3 or less. LET’S GO PHILS!!!

  22. NEPA Says:

Nice – Mac and Frank with the starting lineups. Oh, and for those who watched It’s Always Sunny this past week – that was easily the worst episode of the entire series. Just awful.

  23. Dave Says:

    That was two quick outs…..

  24. OZ Says:

    C’mon Phils!!! Let’s go, let’s go, let’s go!!!!!

  25. Dave Says:

Looks like a really small strike zone

  26. Jamie Says:

I like Utley’s patience right there. We need to take some pitches to get Kuroda’s pitch count high.

  27. Jamie Says:

That was K-How’s pitch right there. He needed to get around on that one.

  28. Brian Says:

Small strike zone not a good omen for jamie

  29. Dave Says:

    WTF!?!!? Safe!!!!!

  30. Brian Says:

    He was safe

  31. NEPA Says:

Very close play. Defense will get that every time basically.

  32. nate Says:

    looked safe to me

  33. Jamie Says:

Uuuhhh…looks like his foot got in there. The Dodger kiss-ass is starting early it looks like.

  34. Keith Says:

    let’s go Moyer!

  35. nate Says:

also… mcCarver and buck “just outside” and then pitchtrax shows it’s nowhere near the plate.

  36. Tim Malcolm Says:

Utley was safe. … Announcers are a little biased toward the Dodgers. … Howard is standing closer to the plate — I wonder if that’s a response to the away pitches. … Mary Hart is scary.

  37. Chase Mutley Says:

Even the Rockies were able to pack the stadium for their NLCS games. Where the F is everyone?

  38. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

    He was definately safe….crap..

  39. Jamie Says:

Nice to see Mary Hart give an inspiring intro to the Dodger line-up when we had that ass-hat Dodger fan Danny DeVito do ours. These Fox bastards are ass kissing Dodger and Manny lovers.

  40. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Agree Mary is Scary…So is the music they keep blaring there..

  41. Keith Says:

    oh crap, come on Moyer.

  42. CT Says:

    ugh

  43. NEPA Says:

Well, definitely not what Moyer would have wanted.

  44. Brian Says:

    Here comes a dp

  45. Dave Says:

Wow i gotta start drinking….. this is bad

  46. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

I’m hoping Moyer settles and we don’t have to see Happ or Condrey tonight

  47. Keith Says:

    well FOX is enjoying this.

  48. Jamie Says:

    Come on guys…pull it together.

  49. Dave Says:

    Three straight hits. Holyshit.

  50. Brian Says:

Another hit and Happ should get up

  51. CT Says:

not good not good not good

  52. NEPA Says:

    jesus christ moyer

  53. Brian Says:

Dude it’s Moyer it doesn’t hurt that bad

  54. Keith Says:

k, Moyer is not doing well.

  55. Jamie Says:

Yeah, we’re in for a long night. I predict 8-1 loss here.

  56. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

    Oh no….

It may be a long night.

  57. Brian Says:

Is this adam eaton wearing a moyer costume wtf!

  58. SJ Mike Says:

Martin moved his knee into that pitch.

  59. Jamie Says:

Getting hit by Moyer is like taking one with a whiffle ball from a 6th grader.

  60. NEPA Says:

    big K there.

  61. CT Says:

woo, ok we need 2 more of those please!

  62. Keith Says:

    huge, now a db please.

  63. Jamie Says:

Huge strikeout. Now if we can get a double play and get out of this with only one given up, we’re money.

  64. Dave Says:

Dear sweet jesus….. finally an out.

  65. SJ Mike Says:

Dodgers have scored first now in all of our NLCS games.

  66. NEPA Says:

wow thats a big hit by blake

  67. CT Says:

    yuck!

  68. Keith Says:

    blahhhhh

  69. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Meyers knows all about bad 1sts… Come on Moyer…

Um..do we go to Happ at this point?

  70. Dave Says:

    PhillyGirl.. no.

Now we go to the Vodka….

  71. CT Says:

looks like Condrey is warming up.

  72. Brian Says:

Why Condrey why is Happ on the roster

  73. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Well…I got some Makers Mark I’m gonna dig into…

I hope Clay doesn’t mind going 3 or 4 tonight..

    Another out!! Yeah!

  74. CT Says:

wow, good K there. please 1 more!

  75. Keith Says:

    huge again.

  76. Brian Says:

What/where is the strike zone here? Come on Jamie 1 more out and we’ll be ok

  77. Brian Says:

    shit

  78. CT Says:

    DAMMIT

  79. Keith Says:

    k, take Moyer out.

  80. Chase Mutley Says:

    Oof.

  81. CT Says:

get Happ in there. at least he’ll have the element of surprise.

  82. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Umm…we may be seeing Bruntlett pitch by the end of the night

  83. NEPA Says:

    unbelievable.

  84. Jamie Says:

Jesus Christ. Moyer has been nothing bus garbage this post season. I’ve seen enough of him until next year.

  85. GO DODGERS Says:

Well it’s about time justice gets served and the truly better team is winning.

  86. elliott Says:

we are doing nothing to end the stupid la love fest that is the fox pregame and broadcast, god you would think there was only one team playing here. what the f

  87. Dave Says:

    That was painful to watch.

  88. Keith Says:

Dodger troll, what’s the point of posting on a Phillies blog?

  89. Geoff Says:

Wow. I respect Jamie Moyer but over the last two starts he looks, just…Done. TOTALLY ineffective today. Get him out oc there, put happ in, NOT condrey. Honestly, i would replace him in the rotation with happ too…because I cant send him back out there in game 6 or 7 if hes going to be this bad. you just cant. DAMNIT!

  90. NEPA Says:

well, at least it happened in the first. lots of baseball left to be played.

  91. Justin Says:

5-0 after the first…thank god we play 9

  92. Tim Malcolm Says:

Moyer’s tightrope walking just doesn’t work in the postseason.

  93. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

I agree Happ seems a better option than Moyer at this point.

  94. Chase Mutley Says:

C’mon Dodger troll, it’s the first inning and you lost the first two games. Can you at least wait until you win a game before you come in to piss on the rug?

  95. CT Says:

NICE HOWARD! THAT’S WHAT WE NEEDED!

  96. Keith Says:

HOWARD got a hit! Yay lol.

  97. Jamie Says:

In Moyer’s defense, the first couple of hits were just hit in the right place – just out of reach. It would have been a totally different inning if they were tracked down. He needs to regroup and give us five more solid innings and give the offense some time to chip away.

  98. Dave Says:

    Thanks Pat…. er… almost….

  99. CT Says:

damn… that could’ve been a homer at CBP maybe

  100. GO DODGERS Says:

That ball that burrell just hit would have easily been gone in that joke of a ballpark you call citizens bank. It sucks playing in a real ballpark, doesn’t it losers.

  101. CT Says:

p.s. – that place looks far from sold out. that’s sad.

  102. SJ Mike Says:

Since when did Dodgers fans become Mets fans who talk smack when they’re behind 2 games?

  103. NEPA Says:

Yea Go Dodgers it does suck. I like watching games when the stadium is packed and the fans are actually into the game.

  104. Jamie Says:

Just ignore the troll. S/he’s probably not even a Dodger fan, but probably a disgruntled Mets fan who still lives in their parent’s basement. Just remember who’s up 2-0 in the series.

  105. CT Says:

i still don’t get it when people complain about our “small” park. it’s not like the visiting team can’t benefit from it either!

  106. Keith Says:

    there’s one :)

  107. CT Says:

    WOO THANKS PEDRO!

  108. Dave Says:

Hey Go Dodgers, why aren’t you at a “real ballpark” instead of online?

  109. SJ Mike Says:

I’m sure all those Dodgers fans who complain about the ballpark were cheering their butts off when Manny hit his homerun on Friday in the same ballpark.

  110. Brian Says:

Ok its early we just need to hold them there and chip away…

  111. Keith Says:

1-2-3 second for Moyer? let’s hope.

  112. Geoff Says:

you just cant toss up light junk over the middle of the plate in the playoffs. they really have to consider adding a free agent starter in teh offseason as an insurance policy if moyer cant repeat his performance this year. i would have happ start the season in teh bullpen and sign a lowe or someone like that..

But for now, Just keep them at 5 runs and crawl their way back

  113. Brian Says:

    Sure do need it Keith

  114. CT Says:

well that’s not soo good Jamie

  115. Keith Says:

    take Moyer out.

  116. NEPA Says:

i’m thinkin this game is over at this point.

  117. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Well…we hoped all would be better..

  118. SJ Mike Says:

I love Jamie Moyer, but he just doesn’t have it tonight.

  119. Tim Malcolm Says:

That’s it for Jamie. Dodgers just knew what was coming.

  120. Blue Says:

Nice to see Moyer being the mediocre pitcher we all know he truly is. He must have just gotten off the HGH – which is the only reasonable explanation for why his ERA was under 7,000.00 this year.

  121. Chase Mutley Says:

Well this is going to be a long night.

  122. Tim Malcolm Says:

    Blue, you’re an idiot.

  123. Dave Says:

Oh F me….. Is that HR 4 sips or 5?

  124. Rick Says:

Joe Buck is an a$$! I can’t stand his commentary!

  125. SJ Mike Says:

Tim, I think you’re right. It just seemed like they knew exactly what he was going to throw when where and how.

  126. CT Says:

uh, yeah. Moyer SURE looks like he was on HGH.

    ????? idiot

  127. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

I have never trolled on an opposing team’s board…What jerks!

  128. Jamie Says:

CT, you’re absolutely right. It’s just a way for visiting fans and playes to whine about and justify their losses. It’s not like they don’t have the same chances as the Phils.

  129. Chase Mutley Says:

Blue, your team just tagged our 45 year old, soft ball tossing, third-man for 6 runs. We tagged your ace for 8. You might want to think these things out before you type them.

  130. Brian Says:

Where were these dodger jack asses for games 1 and 2? Losers

  131. Jamie Says:

.302 opponent’s average? Charlie must be trying to lose this one.

  132. SJ Mike Says:

    Happ is loosening up.

  133. Keith Says:

    Condrey better pitch well.

  134. CT Says:

ok looks like they’re warming up Happ too. hopefully he brings his A game tonight. we’re sure gonna need it.

  135. SJ Mike Says:

I didn’t expect a sweep, I just expected Moyer to have a better game then this.

  136. Brian Says:

good you leaned into the first one

  137. CT Says:

    nice DP!

  138. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Good job Condrey… He’s pretty good most of the time.

  139. CT Says:

anyone else predicting a fist fight before the end of the game?

  140. Jamie Says:

Oh, the Dodgers are starting to lose their cool. Yeah, retaliate and see where that gets you! Joe Buck is such an idiot…”If the Dodgers don’t retaliate…etc…” I’d like to see him out there on the field to see what he would do. That puss would run for the closest dugout to hide or would jump in the stands and hide behind Danny DeVito.

  141. NEPA Says:

Someone is getting thrown at here. At least they will be if the Dodgers have any respect for themselves.

  142. SJ Mike Says:

Wow, the Dodgers are getting so upset over inside pitches. When Myers threw behind Ramirez, I don’t think that was remotely intentional and they’re treating it like he ran at him with an ice pick.

Then Martin leans his knee into the pitch from Moyer acting like it was intentional, despite Moyer being one of the classiest guys in sports.

And then Martin staring Condrey down.

  143. Tim Malcolm Says:

Okay. Seven innings left to score six runs. Think we can. Know we can. Let’s do it.

  144. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Cool…I’ll keep watching to watch the boys paw each other up! lol…

  145. NEPA Says:

Yea Tim I think we can do that part – but I don’t think we can keep them scoreless the rest of the way.

  146. Dave Says:

Looks like i picked the wrong week to quit amphetimines

  147. Jamie Says:

If I were Kuroda, I’d be careful on who I hit. Burrell & Howard would stick him in the ground head first like a lawn dart.

  148. SJ Mike Says:

Each passing inning makes me feel more and more anger towards Joe Buck.

  149. Brian Says:

    Joe Buck can’t be serious?

  150. Chase Mutley Says:

Pinch hitting for Condrey? JA Haap is about to find out what the term trial by fire means.

  151. Rick Says:

I don’t understand why they would put Condrey in and then get Happ up right away? Why not just put Happ in and let him do his best? Then if they need him, Condrey would still be available.

Anyway, they need to chip away at this lead. Try to make up half every inning. They will hit this guy. It’s only a matter of time. Pat hit him hard, and so did Jayson. They both just hit the ball at people.

  152. Gavin Says:

I expect Happ to come in now. Condrey comes in to finish an inning happ to start a clean inning. If not the 3rd, then the 4th.

  153. Gavin Says:

Is it too early to start the debate of whether we send Moyer out there for a possible Game 7?

  154. Joey Says:

whats the point of having a long man if he only pitches to two batters?

  155. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

I’ve gotta turn the volume down. I’m so sick of McCarver..and Buck…egads. Makes we want to hear Joe Morgan!!!

  156. Dave Says:

Wait, was that a PH for Condrey?

  157. Geoff Says:

These asshole announcers are talking about needing to retaliate against us for myers…what the hell? biased

  158. Keith Says:

these announcers need to be ejected from the game.

  159. SJ Mike Says:

At least John Miller and Joe Morgan call the games on a more neutral level. Buck is obviously so biased.

  160. Chase Mutley Says:

As soon as this game got ugly I turned off the TV and put on SF and LA. I need some of that hometown love. I can take Larry Andersen saying shit about my team, not Joe Buck.

  161. Joey Says:

Jamie just cant pitch on more than 5 days rest…its a scary truth, but he needs to pitch, not just throw.

  162. Jamie Says:

    Terrible call. Absolutely atrocious.

  163. Gavin Says:

I am no longer watching on TV. I am voluntarily looking at it on the computer. Thats how bad McCarver is.

  164. SJ Mike Says:

Gotta hand it to Fox for showing replays of Russell Martin screaming the F Bomb (complete with audio).

  165. CT Says:

    here we go

  166. Keith Says:

    k that was the head.

  167. Geoff Says:

    Charge the mound next time

  168. Dave Says:

Okay, DOllar says they plunk Ryan Howard

  169. KM Says:

Russell Martin is bitter about being thrown at – he keeps lining up behind Rollins.

Another stellar playoff performance from Moyer. It’s too bad that he can’t face the Marlins every time.

    I love Victorino.

  170. SJ Mike Says:

Gotta hand it to Fox for showing replays of Russell Martin screaming and cursing (complete with audio).

  171. Keith Says:

that was really stupid and pointless

  172. Geoff Says:

thats out of line…i fthey hit him bean someone in the knees next time.

  173. Tim Malcolm Says:

Now that’s shit by the Dodgers. Look, the Phils were NOT gunning for the Dodgers. So despite what happened before, NO reason you gun for the head.

  174. Chase Mutley Says:

That’s the last person I would want to fight on the Phillies.

  175. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

This is ridiculous…Can we just call it a game and start over tomorrow?

  176. KM Says:

There is going to be a brawl before this series is over.

    FIGHT!!

  177. Geoff Says:

    do it….

  178. KM Says:

Suspend Manny for the rest of the series

  179. Geoff Says:

id leave condrey in and BLAST someone intentionally. HARD. 92 mph fastball at the knees or the hip

  180. Jamie Says:

Oh yeah…this is going to be interesting.

  181. Tim Malcolm Says:

    Manny’s a punk.

  182. Dave Says:

Well there’s some emotion…. let see what we do with it…

  183. SJ Mike Says:

Moyer is not the kind of guy who would gun people down on purpose for crying out loud. And Myers was not gunning for Manny.

  184. Keith Says:

I hate Manny, he’s such a baby. Can’t wait until he retires.

  185. KM Says:

Davy Lopes’s mustache pre-1980 could take Manny Ramirez.

  186. Brian Says:

Love too but we pinch hit for him….should ahve sent taguchi after manny to fight

  187. CT Says:

someone should throw a hard heater right into manny’s wrist. see how they do the rest of the series without ther “meal ticket” as these bum announcers put it

  188. NEPA Says:

Well we’re not gonna be throwing at anyone for awhile. Next person that does is getting tossed.

  189. Jamie Says:

KM, no way will MLB suspend Manny for anything – they love him and the Dodgers too much. At best he’d get a game if he charged the mound, but that would be it. If we charged the mound, we’d lose our guy for at least two games.

  190. ataraxite Says:

What just happened??? I walked into the room to see everyone out on the field and Manny Ramirez being dragged back to the dugout.

  191. Brian Says:

    Happ should drill Manny

  192. elliott Says:

i think you should put a scrub reliever in and toss it at manny just so he charges the mound and gets kicked out

  193. NEPA Says:

And I think I’d rather fight almost anyone else on the team other than Victorino. He’s an animal.

  194. KM Says:

I would like to see Victorino mix it up, but I’d hate to see him get suspended. He’s gotta be a scrappy fighter, cuz that’s the way he is on the field.

  195. Jamie Says:

I’d like to see Matt Stairs or someone like Condrey come out of the dugout the next time there’s a bench-clearing incident and bounce a helmet or something off of Manny’s forehead. Then we’d only lose a minor participant for the rest of the series.

  196. NJ Says:

The Dodgers and fans tonight have proved their classlessness, by all means hit a guy somewhere meaty taking something off but the Dodgers are acting like it’s do or die statements. The fans booing Vic and Chase were just as classlessness…

Thought we were suppose to be the bad guys…

  197. Mickey D Says:

Yeah, hit Manny and then hit Kuroda – in the mouth! F the doyers!

  198. JeffR Says:

We should have sent Taguchi after Manny to draw him into a fight and suspension.

  199. SJ Mike Says:

Toss at the guy whose grandmother just died. That’s a classy thing to do.

  200. Clare Says:

Let’s throw at the head of the guy whose grandma just died! God I am so sick of this team.

  201. Dave Says:

    ahhhh f’n Nomar

  202. Keith Says:

    ugh

  203. Joe Says:

i wish death upon manny ramirez

  204. NJ Says:

As soon as it gets to the next inning its time for a baserunning ‘error’

  205. Brian Says:

Nj if that were our fans that’s all these announcers would be talking about

  206. KM Says:

I know that MLB would never suspend Manny . . . He could come out, knock Chalie Manuel to the ground and tea-bag him and wouldn’t get a second look from Bud Selig and the higher-ups.

  207. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Where’s Rudy?? He could definately bring Manny down..quickly!

  208. NEPA Says:

I’d love to see Vic railroad Martin at home plate at some point in this series (or this game if it actually becomes a game again).

  209. Dave Says:

    Oy…..

  210. SJ Mike Says:

I was waiting for Joe Buck start questioning whether Rudolph would retaliate for Philly throwing at Santa.

  211. CT Says:

    Seanez – jiu jitsu master
    Myers – amateur boxing training

i think we have the advantage in a brawl

  212. Tim Malcolm Says:

I’d like for Joe and Tim to tell us something about the Phillies. But they don’t.

  213. KM Says:

As we have seen from the Phillies this season, no lead is safe – They came back a few times on the Braves form 5+ down, and we erased a 10 run lead against the Mets to make it a game.

Just need to have Happ give us 2-3 innings of no run ball and let the big boys do the rest.

  214. SJ Mike Says:

Tim, it’s a shame too considering McCarver is a former Phillie and started his broadcasting career with us when we won in 1980.

  215. Chase Mutley Says:

‘atta boy, Haap! You’re playing with house money right now, give us something to cheer about.

  216. Jamie Says:

Tim, they are knee-deep in Dodger paraphernalia in the booth. I’m sure they have a scrap of paper somewhere in the mess about us losing in the 1993 World Series that they’ll bring up later.

  217. Chase Mutley Says:

“I was waiting for Joe Buck start questioning whether Rudolph would retaliate for Philly throwing at Santa.”

    HA!!!! This made my night.

  218. Brian Says:

Good inning Happ….lets go now still early

  219. Clare Says:

We can definitely come back and I think we will.

  220. Jamie Says:

Well done Happ. Now we need some offensive prowess to show up. How about an Utley line drive off of Kuroda’s forehead or sack? I’d take that to lead the inning off.

  221. Tim Malcolm Says:

Looks like the sound goes out during graphic presentations. Maybe something computers can’t handle? I don’t know. … This whole beanbag garbage can either wake up the Phils or be exactly what the Dodgers need to take three in LA. Time will tell. For the Phils, it’s simple: Chip away and be smart.

  222. Matt Says:

Joe Buck has a skinny weiner

    true story

  223. NEPA Says:

I think if we can even start making this interesting maybe 6-4, the Dodgers will start getting tight asses. We gotta put some pressure on them and try and steal a little momentum here while its early.

  224. Anthony Says:

CLASSLESSNESS HA HA FUNNY REYES GETS HURT BOOOOOO
CHASE UTLEY HOMERUN DERBY FUC* YOU

    THATS CLASS

    PHILLY IS TRASH

    GO DODGERS

  225. SJ Mike Says:

Outside of Condrey’s pitch, I don’t think anything was thrown by the Phillies has intent. Manny and Billingsly are just spoiled brats.

  226. Tim Malcolm Says:

Wow — plenty of good yellow seats still available in the lower bowl.

  227. NJ Says:

Go back to your over-hyped home troll…

  228. Anthony Castellano Says:

THE MOST CLASSY PLACE = PHILLY HA HA NOT WHAT A JOKE

  229. Tim Malcolm Says:

Why do the trolls always have to type on caps lock? Is it a universal language?

  230. SJ Mike Says:

Anthony, I guess you missed the playback of Russell Martin throwing a hissy fit tirade in the dugout complete with profanity laced obscentities broadcast.

  231. Anthony Castellano Says:

WELCOME MANNY TO THE NY METS

  232. SJ Mike Says:

Tim, to trolls, the caps are like the equivalent to shouting. It makes sense because they subscribe to the theory that if they speak louder then you, then that automatically makes them right.

  233. Chase Mutley Says:

Why do all these sissies want to throw ‘class’ back in our faces? It’s not an f’ing tea party you homo.

  234. Anthony Castellano Says:

YES IM A TROLL ILL PISS ON CBP ILL BE THERE FOR GAME 6 IDC IM NOT SCARED OF YOU BUMBS

GAMES GET PLAYED IN PHILLY NLCS 4PM 1ST TIME EVER BECAUSE THEY KNOW NO ONE WORKS IN PHILLY HA HA HA

AND SJ I SEEN THE PLAYBACK VICTORINO NEVER USED ANY PROFANITY OR HISSY FITS MAN UP

  235. Keith Says:

Why do trolls have no life? Do they enjoy being useless to society?

  236. Matt Says:

    Anthony,

When your incompetent ass can learn to formulate complete sentences then maybe someone here will have respect for you. Please, continue your miserable life jerking off to absurd amounts of porn and working at Walmart.

  237. KM Says:

Dodgers are worse than Mets fans, because at least the Mets fans will talk trash when their team blows . . . Dodgers fans don’t show up until the 3rd inning of games, and June if the team is doing well.

If the Phillies battle back to go ahead in this game the stadium will empty real fast.

  238. Tim Malcolm Says:

Oh I know, just being sarcastic.

  239. Chase Mutley Says:

Alright, pounding your chest about a player that you *might* get in the off-season while your team is sitting in a hot tub right now, might be the weakest thing ever.

  240. NJ Says:

Manny deserves to be with the premadona Mets, you deserve some schooling from the look of it. If your going to come on here make a point, critisize by all means just make a point in lower case like a normal person unless you really have the intellect of a puppy.

  241. Keith Says:

Manny isn’t going to the Mets, he doesn’t want to choke with them.

  242. SJ Mike Says:

Anthony, Victorino said throw at my ribs, not my head. Martin jumped up and down screaming the f bomb like his mom wouldn’t buy him a toy at Wal-Mart.

But if it helps inflate your ego more then your blow up doll to post in all caps and talk smack, then be my guest.

  243. Dave Says:

Mets? Who are these Mets you speak of? Aren’t they a bunch of October Golfers?

  244. J-Man Says:

Next time Manny comes up,throw a pitch right at that pos head.

  245. NJ Says:

Manny will go where he gets paid and they won’t do a thing when he starts his diva act… Mets are the perfect suitors.

  246. Anthony Castellano Says:

Okay, I was wrong, I’m an idiot.

  247. NJ Says:

something only an idiot would say…

  248. Joe Says:

when manny is up we should send out so taguchi with a bat to beat him to death.

  249. Clare Says:

Wow, a bit hype for something nowhere near the warning track.

  250. Brian Michael Says:

Yea, you are an idiot. One more outburst like that and you’ll be banned.

  251. KM Says:

I hate the Mets fans, but they get more respect from me than these fair weather California losers. Historically, they sell many tickets to games, but how often are those seats empty in the 2nd inning? In a blowout, how often are those seats empty by the 7th?

  252. Anthony Castellano Says:

    Eagles
    Phillies
    Flyers

best and classiest perfessional sports teams
you know what i feel bad for your guys and its a blog not a college paper you dont like the way i write dont read it thats fine
trolls ha ha thats great never heard that before

lets see phillies sell out every games the last 20 years?
    eagles?
    flyers?

when was the last time a team in philly won a championship? i forgot

only good thing in filty the cheese steaks

  253. Keith Says:

it would be so great if we could come back and win this game . . .

  254. Chase Mutley Says:

Ok, seriously, I’m not above calling an 8 year old a loser — what is up with all of these dorks with the wigs?

  255. Jamie Says:

Anthony is not very intimidating with his “all caps” and poor grammar. To be taken seriously, one must have rational thoughts or at least be able to debate. These things require education, intellect, and spelling skills. Apparently this may be the reason that Anthony is blogging on a Phils web site and spouting incessant b.s.

  256. NJ Says:

    and your point right now?

  257. KM Says:

Ask the Braves if we can come back from 5 down . . . This team plays better from behind.

  258. SJ Mike Says:

Wow, Anthony. You’re a scholar. Let’s go to Staples to buy you a certicate since you got a D, which is sort of like a passing average.

  259. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

So good to see Tiger Woods w/his LA hat on. At least he didn’t have a Manny wig on. Wouldn’t have been surprised though. Danny Divita should have worn one – over his face.

  260. Brian Michael Says:

    That’s it, he’s been banned.

BTW, wtf is the deal with Mo Duncan? He was yapping all throughout game 2 also.

  261. Keith Says:

ugh, I hate this game. come on Happ!

  262. J-Man Says:

Your supposed to hit em Happ not walk em.

  263. Dave Says:

I think its because dear anthony is a “See You Next Tuesday”……

  264. SJ Mike Says:

Brian, I noticed that too. Duncan has had a short fuse this series.

  265. Jamie Says:

Any chance we could re-sign Uge “The Machette” Urbina and get him up here with his “hardware” in time for Game 4? I’d love to see him lop off Manny’s head or arms. Then Joe Buck’s.

  266. Dave Says:

I thought Tiger lived in Orlando?

  267. Keith Says:

I’m surprised Manny doesn’t have a reality show.

  268. Brian Says:

Was there a play at the plate….not sure i cut that ball off

  269. NJ Says:

The Dodgers are going to parade around because they know they can get away with it right now.

  270. Mickey D Says:

I’d rather see ‘em clinch in Philly….

  271. Chase Mutley Says:

These trolls, do they really think what they think about our sports teams or that we stay up at night crying about not winning a championship? I have a great job, a wonderful house and a beautiful wife. Most people on here are the same. I don’t even know who plays for the Flyers. If the best you’ve got is that no Philly team has won since ‘83 while our baseball team is up 2 games to 0 in the NLCS you’re gonna have to try harder.

  272. Jamie Says:

I’m surprised at Duncan’s discontent with our boys in red considering he used to be one of us.

  273. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Keith – if he stays w/LA, he probably will soon.

  274. SJ Mike Says:

Brian, they had a shot at the plate, but it would have been too close. I guess concede another run and get the sure out to prevent further damage.

  275. Robbi P Says:

While that would be good to see em in Philly I want to win simple as that just dont give the dodgers any chance, although today is shot unless Everyone can start hitting! Here’s to the Offense doing what they did in Philly!

  276. Mickey D Says:

The trolls need to get girlfriends. If they had one, they’d find something better to do.

  277. Manny Says:

I despise Manny Ramirez after this. What an immature, irresponsible, and non-professional player. I hope he NEVER plays for us, and I’d hit him in the face for ruining the game of baseball.

  278. Keith Says:

    not a good start

  279. Phils in 5 Says:

we weren’t going to sweep anyway. The sight of these morons in the booth is making me angry.
Kuroda has been really good tonight.

  280. SJ Mike Says:

I didn’t expect to sweep. I thought this would be a Dodgers win from the start, just I expected it to be much closer.

  281. Rick Says:

What happened to Colorado last year after they swept in the DS and the CS? They got swept in the WS.

You don’t want that many days off anyway. I see this as a throwaway game. If they come back and win, fine. If not, eh…(shrugging shoulders).

I want to see Blanton come out firing tomorrow though. If he does, you have to think about him as a potential game seven starter right?

  282. Brian Michael Says:

Everyone – don’t forget to sign up to win a free t-shirt!

  283. Jamie Says:

Chase, I agree. I’m a die-hard Phils fan, but I don’t follow the Eagles or Flyers, as I’m a fan of other teams. I have plenty to keep me busy rather than sitting around the house lamenting about our 10,000 losses, etc. I guess that’s the difference between us and Mets fans…they must really take it hard in the off-season when they cave year after year.

  284. Dave Says:

okay they got to Moyer….. they still have to face Fat Joe and Cole again before Myers….

  285. SJ Mike Says:

Remember several years ago when Manny grabbed Don Zimmer and slammed him into the ground in a benches clearing brawl?

  286. Jamie Says:

Brian, if we’re on the list already, do we have to re-sign up? And what size is the shirt?

  287. Brian Says:

Thought that was Pedro who slammed Zimmer

  288. J-Man Says:

That was Pedro Martinez that slammed Zimmer.

  289. NEPA Says:

We just don’t have it tonight. Not a good feeling thinking of Blanton vs. Lowe tomorrow.

  290. NJ Says:

Say what you will about whats going on out of the batters box but the Phils look aweful tonight.

  291. Chase Mutley Says:

If this game or series gets out of control, I would love to see Rudy to something foolish to Manny. I’d love to see what that piece of s**t would do with a jiu-jitsu expert and not a 64-year old travel secretary.

  292. Jamie Says:

NEPA, I don’t either. Nothing more demoralizing than thinking the series could be 2-2 after tomorrow. But I do like Cole v. Billingsley. It’s Games 6 and 7 that have me more concerned, as a Myers v. Kuroda could not be in our favor.

  293. Brian Says:

We can’t afford a funk like we get into for 3-4games at a time….That’s my biggest worry. I like fat Joe going tomorow. Off day is key on Tuesday get Cole back on regular rest for game 5

  294. SJ Mike Says:

Damn, my bad, I thought it was Manny.

  295. J-Man Says:

Yea tomorrow is prolly gonna be ugly too with it being Lowe vs. Blanton.

  296. Chase Mutley Says:

The Phillies looking awful tonight is why I would assume most of us are talking about hypothetical celebrity boxing matches. Not because our head is out of the game.

  297. Tim Malcolm Says:

I’m close to muting this game. I try to stay objective in most places, but FOX is ridiculously pro-LA.

  298. SJ Mike Says:

Tim, throughout the entire postseason, Fox, TBS, ESPN, etc. have all been ridiculously Anti-Philly.

  299. Chase Mutley Says:

    Wow, the wave. That’s cute.

  300. Brian Says:

Agreed Tim they are rooting for the dodgers.

“Dodgers hopeful its a tidal wave” Me too McCarver so it wipes your senile ass out.

  301. Greg B Says:

We just dont have any of the breaks tonight. they have more seeing eye grounder hits than balls we have hit hard

  302. Dave Says:

Well TBS rooted for Miluwakee (with the voice of the Milwaukee Brewers)…. who can blame FOX for hating us?

  303. Brian Michael Says:

News Corp did used to own the Dodgers if that means anything…

  304. NJ Says:

Everyones pro LA right now Tim, they beat the ‘fan favourite’ Cubs and assume that mantle and suddenly everyone forgets the year they really had.

  305. Keith Says:

FOX, TBS, MLB they all want LA-Boston so they can talk about Manny, Manny, Manny, oh and Manny some more.

  306. Brian Says:

I wish they let the broadcasters for the home park do the games. Vin Scully is a pleasure to listen to unlike these douche bags

  307. CT Says:

    nice out there

  308. Joey Says:

    howard threw to second?!?!

  309. Keith Says:

and they seem to always root for the team who is losing in the series

  310. Jamie Says:

Nice inning right there. Happ seems to be doing well considering the pressure.

  311. Jason Says:

With this team, this game is not over, that was a great pickoff by Happ.

  312. NJ Says:

This is like listening to the ‘new’ MNF, don’t mind the facts stacked against us but the bias just sounds stail and forced.

  313. Tim Malcolm Says:

Ahh, yes, News Corp. That might have something to do with it. Not a big fan of News Corp. right now, but for other reasons.

  314. NEPA Says:

I won’t be able to watch the World Series if we aren’t in it. I can’t stand hearing the name Manny at this point.

  315. Keith Says:

our offense needs to start hitting, like 4 or 5 hits this inning, please?

  316. Dave Says:

Tim, what the stock bottom out or something?

  317. Brian Says:

I disagree jamie there was no pressure on Happ already down 5 when he came in. He was effective though. Need some hits here guys

  318. J-Man Says:

If this series ends up in a game 7 you guys think Moyer will pitch?

  319. Greg B Says:

Dear God. Manny v. the Sox. I would shoot myself. that or just turn off the TV.

  320. Robbi P Says:

I mean the thing is now that we should just try to get hits and get runs just to feel good about themselves, they look like shit right now. a 7-4 ball game would be fine in my book like the Brew Crew game were they were gaining momentum throughout the game and although they didn’t win they we feeling good offensively at the end of the game!

  321. NJ Says:

NEPA jus transfer it in your mind to Fanny Ramirez.

  322. Jamie Says:

Not that it will happen, but if LA beats us and goes to the WS, I’d like to see Boston go just so they could bitch-slap Manny and the Dodgers. That would be awesome.

But, like I said, we’re the ones going.

  323. Brian Says:

I can’t see Moyer again in this series.

  324. CT Says:

Taguchi was not the answer here

  325. Keith Says:

nvm, guess we won’t do that.

  326. Jeffrey Says:

If Dodgers hold on to this lead and we lose, there is one silver lining: Happ is pitching like he ain’t scared. Kid showed me something tonight.

  327. NJ Says:

    Classy fans…

  328. SJ Mike Says:

    Happ pitched very well tonight.

  329. Jeffrey Says:

Booing Victorino is this situation proves that people in L.A. know nothing about baseball.

  330. CT Says:

talk about classless… the crowd is booing Vic! he didn’t even do anything other than be the target of that pitch.

  331. Clare Says:

Yeah what’s wrong with these “fans”?

  332. Jamie Says:

Brian, down five or not, he’s pitching in October baseball when he has less than a dozen total major league appearances. Believe me, there’s pressure.

  333. Keith Says:

this is just a crappy game, can’t wait for tomorrow.

  334. SJ Mike Says:

They’re booing Victorino like he shot a puppy. All he did was ask to be hit in the torso, not the head.

  335. SJ Mike Says:

Had it been in Philly, Buck would’ve went on an anti-Philly fan tirade.

  336. J-Man Says:

I don’t think Moyer should pitch again the rest of this series unless he’s out of the bullpen.

  337. Matt Says:

Jimmy Rollins, despite his superior class and excellent representation of our team, simply has not done anything productive this entire postseason. As a leadoff hitter, he needs to get on base…

And I second what Tim said regarding Lowe vs. Blanton. If Blanton has his stuff, it could be a good game. However, Lowe pitched a gem in the first game, and absolutely dominated our lineup with his use of the sinker. He got ground balls and really couldnt’ve pitched better. I don’t want to think it, but it’s hard to picture winning the next game.

  338. Chase Mutley Says:

I wonder if Fonzie and The Critic were boo’ing too.

  339. Mickey D Says:

It aint over. Another look at Kuroda is all we need.

  340. Keith Says:

yea, cuz they want LA to get back to Philly with a 3-2 series lead.

  341. Jeffrey Says:

@SJ Mike I was thinking that earlier in the game. The only booing I heard in the first two games was generic anti-Manny stuff and it wasn’t that loud. These Dodgers fans have been booing all over the place and the Fox crew hasn’t said a thing. Lame.

  342. Mickey D Says:

    Eyre jordan!

  343. SJ Mike Says:

Is it me, or does Victorino just by chance seem to be in the middle of angry tirades from the opposing team when we’re in a blowout? That game against the Braves when Tavarez charged him at 3rd base and then tonight when Kuroda, Martin, and Manny had their hissy fit?

  344. Keith Says:

Moyer pitched well last year against the Rockies, just can’t do it this year.

  345. NEPA Says:

Mickey D – get real, this game is over. The offense is lifeless.

  346. Chase Mutley Says:

Ryan Seacrest is totally trolling philliesnation.com from his Blackberry.

  347. SJ Mike Says:

So Joe Buck doesn’t just have a man crush for Manny and Torre, but Ryan Seacrest now?

  348. Joey Says:

some crowd when pat sajack cant even get some camera time. show some love…

  349. Jeffrey Says:

Mets fans I know think Victorino hotdogs it sometimes. I don’t agree but maybe he has a reputation.

  350. Rick Says:

Seriously!?!? Vic was just trying to be somewhat civil saying, “Look! If you’re going to hit someone, hit them in the ribs or the back where it hurts. Don’t throw at people’s head because no one deserves to get hurt or killed.”

That said, I agree that the only Philly who threw at anyone was Condrey. Myers pitch was completely an accident. You could even SEE the ball slip out of his hand in slow-mo.

  351. Gavin Says:

Happ or Blanton in Game 7.

  352. SJ Mike Says:

I haven’t seen a Larry King sighting yet. He’s usually at these Dodgers games.

  353. Jamie Says:

He’s probably the GO DODGERS idiot.

  354. Gavin Says:

Victorino gets fired up. Thats it.

  355. Tim Malcolm Says:

I know they went at Vic cause there was two outs and a strike, but, it may be a tactical move going at him. He’s the red wire on the Phils. He’s been the leader by effort in the second half. Makes sense from their view.

  356. Jeffrey Says:

@SJ Mike I heard old Larry King got confused and went to Ebbets Field for the game.

  357. Mickey D Says:

We’ll see. If they don’t make something happen here, I’ll concede, but I’m not giving up on the boys yet.

  358. Joey Says:

Even if Vic is a hotdog (which he isnt) hes no Manny Ramierez who is worshiped by those moron LA fans.

  359. Jamie Says:

    I would say Blanton.

  360. SJ Mike Says:

Why is Joe Buck treating a potential Dodgers win like it’ll be the comeback of the century since 2004 with the Red Sox? It’s an NLCS. Most 7 game series go more then 4 games.

Ugh, I hate Joe Buck so much.

  361. OZ Says:

i’m with ya boys ‘n’ girls. tv off, 1210 on.

c’mon Phils….let’s get some pride into this.

  362. Gavin Says:

Jimmy Rollins is a yolk around this teams neck right now.

  363. Robbi P Says:

Thanks Joe Buck for telling people about all the LCS upsets, what is with this Media and their desire to see the Phillies lose? GOD DAMNIT! Im sick of this shit and im only 19. I feel the pain of the guys who have been DIEHARDS longer than me.

  364. Mickey D Says:

    Hey Joe, Joe Buck Yourself!

  365. SJ Mike Says:

Victorino justs claps his hands and pumps his fists like most players. He doesn’t have Broadway choreography like Jose Reyes.

  366. Geoff Says:

    kuroda owns their asses

  367. NEPA Says:

Well if we have any chance of making this interesting I’m thinking this is our chance.

  368. Gavin Says:

I’d let my son watch porn before I’d let him listen to Joe Buck and Tim Mccarver in this house.

  369. Keith Says:

they want the Dodgers to win, its as simple as that. They want a Manny World Series.

  370. Geoff Says:

should moyer get put in the rotation next time around or not? im leaning towards no

  371. Gavin Says:

    Yes they do.

  372. NEPA Says:

There we go – that’s something at least.

  373. CT Says:

ALRIGHT CHASE, LET’S GET THIS ROLLING!

  374. Keith Says:

yes, finally, another hit. can this please be a big inning?

  375. Chase Mutley Says:

Those “fans” totally just tried to pick up an in-play ball. Awesome.

  376. Robbi P Says:

LETS GO BABY! shouldve went to 3rd play at the plate with Utley im calling it

  377. Rick Says:

Alright Chase! Lets get something going here!

  378. Robbi P Says:

LETS GO BABY! im still calling play at the plate!

  379. Mickey D Says:

As I was saying… we can beat these efftards!

  380. Keith Says:

Howard with 2 hits, maybe they’ll leave him alone a little.

  381. SJ Mike Says:

That was smart base running by Utley. He played it correctly down by 6.

  382. Mickey D Says:

    Pat’s due!

  383. Gavin Says:

Is it me or has Werth looked almost as bad as Rollins this series?

  384. Robbi P Says:

    Mistake pitch lets go baby!

  385. CT Says:

    YES!

  386. SJ Mike Says:

What’s the book on Corey Wade?

  387. NEPA Says:

Yes – let’s keep this going.

  388. Chase Mutley Says:

Pat Burrell loves the Philadelphia. Philadelphia loves Pat Burrell.

  389. Keith Says:

yes, 3 hits in a row! Utley-Howard-Burrell, woo.

  390. NJ Says:

    Nice, this ones not over.

  391. Jeffrey Says:

Wow. Quick hook there with a five-run lead.

  392. Geoff Says:

    jump ALL OVER THIS BULLPEN

  393. Robbi P Says:

WERTH IS DUE! Dobbs better be pinch hitting! Momentum! the fans lost interest, some fans they are. did anyone else see the two chicks behind the plate? they haven’t seen a single pitch because they’ve been chatting. NLCS behind home plate and they are talking WTF?

  394. nate Says:

did they just say there were 56,000 people there… the largest in dodgers history? wow… wouldn’t have guessed that.

  395. Gavin Says:

Its a pretty damn good bullpen.

  396. Jamie Says:

What a bunch of prima donna fans. They’re just like Manny. I’m a bit surprised they gave Kuroda the hook here — hopefully we can get to their bullpen. I’d like a few more this inning.

How sweet would it be for a comeback and for us to pull this out? I’ve like to see it shoved right up Buck & Manny’s tail pipes.

  397. SJ Mike Says:

My friends who are Yankees fans have been texting me saying things like “See why we hate Manny so much after seeing all of his antics?”

  398. J-Man Says:

Come on Werthless lets see a 3-run home run.

  399. Mickey D Says:

nate – you saw those empty seats too huh? pathetic.

  400. SJ Mike Says:

Werth is due for a good gapper.

  401. Dave Says:

Ya know I work in the Media (photographer) and Sports people everywhere hate all teams Philadelphia…. Just seems like the world is always against us…

  402. Gavin Says:

Beavis aka “Johnny Wacko” is due.

  403. NEPA Says:

I have a feeling Werth is K’ing here.

  404. Keith Says:

    u were right NEPA.

  405. Toos of Ignorance Says:

    no F*ing way….

  406. Tim Malcolm Says:

    He DID NOT go.

  407. CT Says:

    dammit werth

  408. NEPA Says:

Can we get a side view of Werth’s check swing? That would help.

  409. J-Man Says:

Man why didn’t they let Dobbs hit for Feliz.

  410. SJ Mike Says:

Thank you Fox for not showing us the side angle on that to Werth.

  411. Tim Malcolm Says:

    And that was low.

  412. Jamie Says:

I didn’t think he went from that view..would have liked to see a 1st base ruling there.

  413. SJ Mike Says:

Apparently Dodgers fans call Feliz a “Dodger Killer.” Let’s see if he owns up to it.

  414. Gavin Says:

    Why is Dobbs not PHing?

  415. SJ Mike Says:

Wow, did Feliz get a giftwrapped ball there.

  416. NEPA Says:

Feliz is getting some really good pitches to hit. He’s got to drive one of these.

  417. Jamie Says:

Man, I want to dismember Joe Buck. “Where did that miss? Just a hair low.” Or, quite a bit low. There were other pitches by Philly earlier that were closer than that — but he didn’t mention anything about them.

  418. SJ Mike Says:

Jamie, I honestly think that was Strike 3.

  419. Jeffrey Says:

    C’MON DOBBS!

  420. NEPA Says:

I like this matchup a lot.

  421. SJ Mike Says:

Don’t get me wrong though, I hate Joe Buck too, just I thought that was Strike 3 also.

  422. NEPA Says:

Agreed SJ Mike – I probably would have rung him up.

  423. SJ Mike Says:

I’m surprised Russell Martin didn’t launch into a tirade at Dobbs. How dare Dobbs foul a ball back to his mask.

  424. Jeffrey Says:

    DAMN IT!!

  425. NEPA Says:

    Well, there was our chance.

  426. CT Says:

damn, that could’ve been so huge

  427. Gavin Says:

That was our chance. Everyone have a good night. See you tomorrow.

  428. SJ Mike Says:

The ball almost hit Wade. Not hoping for Wade to get hurt, but had that hit him, Dobbs could’ve been safe and a run across.

  429. Mickey D Says:

Kemp has a great arm – no mention of Burrell’s great arm, no, that was a “mistake” throwing the ball home. I thought Fox was “fair and balanced” haha!

  430. Dave Says:

Anyone else up to 1/2 a bottle of vodka in this game?

  431. Jamie Says:

Yeah, it’s in the bag. We needed more than one there — and should have had it.

  432. Mickey D Says:

    1/2 bottle of tums.

  433. SJ Mike Says:

Mickey, so you’re saying that the Dodgers are Republicans and Torre is like Bill O’Reilly?

  434. Keith Says:

well we still have two more innings, we have a shot, not a good shot, but still one.

  435. Mickey D Says:

LOL! Yeah, that’s what I’m sayin. You’re watching The O’Torre Factor.

  436. SJ Mike Says:

Mickey, meant to say that Joe Buck was Bill O’Reilly. And McCarver is Sean Hannity.

  437. Mickey D Says:

Either way, it’s a one sided report. Pretty unprofessional.

  438. SJ Mike Says:

Gotta love how there were some Dodgers fans over at Dodgers Thoughts getting on the little girl singing God Bless America. I thought she was really good.

  439. Jeffrey Says:

Does anyone know what that thing is in Manny’s mouth?

  440. Keith Says:

    yay, take that Manny. blah

  441. Brian Michael Says:

Uh oh….Joe, what’s up with that?

  442. CT Says:

yikes durbin. martin didn’t need another one of those.

  443. Jamie Says:

Intentional or not, I love that right there…

  444. SJ Mike Says:

That was not intentional. I’ll be honest though, this home plate ump has called a good game and he used good judgement there with Durbin.

  445. Brian Says:

It was a friggin curve ball, this crowd does not know the game even a little bit

  446. Jamie Says:

    Manny wears a mouthpiece.

  447. Dave Says:

Yeah Fox is biased. I was talking with a TV reporter about how ESPN influenced college football polls and the voters and how they sckew it towards the matchups they want….. Same with all sports….. LA vs Sox will get raitings and money, even if theyre not carrying the series….. Then everyone starts echoing what ESPN says…. it becomes a domino effect and soon everyone is thinking the same and saying teh same thing…..

  448. SJ Mike Says:

Most hitters get hit unintentionally by curveballs that don’t break.

  449. Keith Says:

oh here it goes, Manny World Series talk.

  450. Brian Says:

Running up 5 at home in the 7th? that’s why you get drilled……btw doesn’t the pick off count as a stolen base attempt

  451. SJ Mike Says:

Did Buck just say “postscript to that Manny talk?”

It has been nothing but Manny talk! I seriously want to just launch into an obscenity laced tirade about Buck, but holding back all urges.

  452. Georgie Says:

Ken Rosenthal said that a Manny/Red Sox WS would draw more of the “casual” baseball fan audience. WTF is a casual baseball fan?

  453. Brian Says:

He did say a postscript….I heard a rumor that there are 49 other guys active for this series any truth to that Joe?

  454. Keith Says:

they just want to talk about Manny the whole World Series, thats why it needs to be Phillies-Rays so there will be 0 Manny talk.

  455. Jeffrey Says:

In the dictionary, “casual baseball fan” is defined as every Dodgers fan plus chicks wearing pink Red Sox hats.

  456. Dave Says:

If the Phillies somehow F this up and lose the series, I want the Sox to win in 4. F Manny. Go Tessie.

  457. NEPA Says:

    Haha Nicely done Jeffrey.

  458. Jamie Says:

If I had a dollar for every time they mentioned Manny during this game, let alone this series, I’d have enough money to replenish what I lost in the stock market these past couple of weeks.

  459. Mickey D Says:

    I think Manny’s chewing on a trojan.

  460. Jeffrey Says:

Hey, does anyone else miss the Mets’ bullpen right about now? Ugh.

  461. PhillyGirlinMichigan Says:

Good to see Chad get out of that…. Go fave Ex-Tiggy! Time to call it a night. See ya guys…We’ll get ‘em tomorrow.

  462. NEPA Says:

People do still realize that the Rays are even with the Sox 1-1 right? The Red Sox are not in the WS yet.

  463. Mickey D Says:

Why even finish the series? I mean Joe is sayin’ it’s all about Manny. What’s the point in playin’ the games? They’re putting the F.O. in Fox.

  464. SJ Mike Says:

I can usually laugh this kind of bias off, but 3 games in, it is complete and total torture! I’m seriously getting worked up over this.

  465. Mickey D Says:

    Jeffrey – LOL! (re: Mets)

  466. CT Says:

    nice hit Coste!

  467. Mickey D Says:

    let’s go jimmy!

  468. NEPA Says:

Maybe Jimmy can get a hit here for once.

  469. SJ Mike Says:

Nepa, they don’t even realize that the Phillies are up 2-0 (soon to be 2-1 most likely) and that the Dodgers aren’t even in the WS yet.

  470. Jeffrey Says:

Now is the time for Jimmy to DO SOMETHING.

  471. CT Says:

    dammit jimmy, what’s your malfunction?

  472. NEPA Says:

It’s gonna take a Phillies win in L.A. to shut them up. And that’s something we haven’t done all season.

  473. dan Says:

Sorry I just got on here. Did we talk about game 7 probables?
I hate hearing them boo Shane, kids having a tough week. It’s just terrible.

  474. Mickey D Says:

If you’d only watched Fox postseason you’d never hear that JRoll is the reigning MVP, and Howard was before him and Rookie of the Year. No mention whatsoever.

  475. SJ Mike Says:

Mickey, I heard it once, but it was from Jeanie Zilasko in the pregame.

  476. dan Says:

PS I’m another guy pulling for a Phils-Rays WS. If that happens, me and my buddy already planned on giving ourselves reverse mohawks. Hope that catches on

  477. CT Says:

well, we’ll try again tomorrow i guess.

  478. Mickey D Says:

3 outs and the big boys have one more shot… let’s hope Blanton throws another gem. Is it too late to hit another Dodger?

  479. SJ Mike Says:

Outside of that first inning, the Phils pitching and defense held the Dodgers in check from the 2nd inning on. They had a gameplan against Moyer and it worked.

But we know already the Dodgers (and Lowe on short rest) are beatable.

  480. Jamie Says:

I sure hope Blanton comes through for us tomorrow. I’d rather we either win it in Game 5 or leave LA up 3-2. If we leave down 3-2, we’re going to be hurting. We need those bats to do something more than what they have – 3 runs against Lowe and 2 tonight isn’t going to cut it. We need something like what we did against Billingsley.

  481. NEPA Says:

We need to come out tomorrow or Wednesday and pounce on this team early and send a message – like the way they did to us today. Because this LA offense is not good enough to make a big comeback against our bullpen.

  482. dan Says:

I think we can all agree on the huge difference being up 3-2 and down 3-2 coming home is.

  483. Jamie Says:

Hey, they haven’t mentioned Manny yet this inning.

  484. Jeffrey Says:

I simply cannot conceive of this Phillies team losing three in a row. Worst case is being up 3-2 and heading back home.

  485. Mickey D Says:

Hamels and Myers are not going to lose, no ephin way!

  486. Mickey D Says:

Jamie, give ‘em time. Like the Soothsayer said, the inning hath come but it has not yet gone…

  487. Jeffrey Says:

Look at all those empty seats. Okay sure, your team is up by five in the 8th. But it’s a postseason game! Stereotype confirmed.

  488. SJ Mike Says:

Same thing sort of happened in Milwuakee too. We got up 2 games to none, Moyer threw a clunker like this.

Just gotta move on and come back tomorrow. Dodgers ran on first home game of NLCS adrenaline.

  489. Joey Says:

damnit! Why is he even in there!?!

  490. Tim Malcolm Says:

Very good that the bullpen was so effective tonight. They calmed everything down — the Dodgers have seemingly quieted a bit. If Blanton throws his game tomorrow, we win.

  491. Mickey D Says:

    Broxton can serve some meatballs.

  492. NEPA Says:

Romero will be fine – I do that same thing to my ankle like 4 times a week. Just walk it off.

  493. Jeffrey Says:

    @Mickey D Six meatballs?

  494. SJ Mike Says:

Tim, take the 2st inning away and it’s a game. Our bullpen pitched stellar ball tonight.

And Lowe will be on short rest. Gotta make him work tomorrow and do our thing.

  495. Joey Says:

I bet Sajack is still there.

  496. Chase Mutley Says:

Is anyone else scared to go to espn.com or mlb.com to see their account of the game? I’m anticipating a giant cartoon of Manny snapping Jaime Moyer in half holding up a WS ring.

In hindsight, I should have bought tickets and airfare to LA to see the Phils in the NLCS. Apparently it would have been cheaper than seeing them in South Philly. Did anyone go to this game?

  497. NEPA Says:

Yea, we better be patient with Lowe tomorrow.

  498. Jeffrey Says:

Sometimes I don’t understand why Burrell looks at certain pitches.
“Big, fat breaking ball right down the middle on the first pitch? No thanks!”

  499. T Marty Says:

not that it means a thing, but i just wrote to foxsports about how sad it is that they have Joe Buck announcing. As a fan for over 30 years i’ve never heard anyone like him, yes our local announcers are biased, but homers can be. He is all about Manny, the Red Sox, Yankees, and any team that’s not named the Phillies, always, not just in the post season. only comments about the Phils when it’s in a negative context. amazing.

  500. CT Says:

    there goes the “unhittable” Broxton

  501. Jamie Says:

    Hamels v. Billingsley
    Myers v. Kuroda

Neither of those will be easy. If it goes to game 7, Lowe could pitch again on short rest. I really don’t want to see him a 3rd time.

  502. Joey Says:

Buck sounds so frustrated to still be there. We should be able to hit up Lowe pretty well tomorrow in later innings if Big Joe can keep us close.

  503. SJ Mike Says:

T Marty, I did the same thing at the feedback for Fox Sports. Wanted to write more, but there was a 1000 character limit.

  504. Chase Mutley Says:

Joe Buck during Cowboys / Eagles games is the worst. The words “Santa Claus” have to be written into his script or he will not go on camera. I’m certain of it.

  505. Jeffrey Says:

That was ugly but the series ain’t over and I still say we’re going to win it. Go get ‘em tomorrow, boys!

  506. Chase Mutley Says:

What the F!! They give that POS “Player of the Game” — fine. But then they highlight him throwing at another player’s head as if that’s why he’s the player of the game. F this.

  507. SJ Mike Says:

Dodgers had 1 good inning tonight. Our bullpen pitched 7 other great innings.

  508. Joey Says:

Well i just wanted to split in LA. Just gotta win tomorrow. Russell Martins an ahole.

  509. dan Says:

“It wasn’t at his head, it was over his head. We’re just trying to make a statement.”

    Russel Martin

    Classy.

  510. Joey Says:

    said all the right things?!?!

  511. SJ Mike Says:

    I seriously can’t believe Russell Martin’s comments.

“It wasn’t at his head, it was over his head.”

Because he ducked you dumb piece of trash!

I’m seriously pissed off beyond belief at this bias and Manny and Martin and company.

  512. NEPA Says:

Kuroda called that pitch himself? I doubt that very highly for some reason.

  513. T Marty Says:

well, as much as i wanted a sweep, it would be grand to watch ‘em win at home. i will have 1210 cued up with a muted FOX.

  514. SJ Mike Says:

Russl Martin’s postgame comments were ridiculous!

  515. Jeffrey Says:

In Joe Buck’s book, pretending to moon the crowd is “a disgusting act” but throwing a baseball at a man’s head is praiseworthy.
When he wasn’t kissing Manny’s butt, he was talking about the brushbacks and beanballs. Just call the game, jerk.

  516. dan Says:

I could stab Russel Martin right now. The Dodgers have one classy individual in their dugout and his name is Joe Torre. Manny? Trash. Martin? Garbage. He called that at Vic’s head and everyone knows it.

  517. Mickey D Says:

Hit Martin in the knee and Manny in the mouth. I’d like to see ‘em close it out at the Vault too.

  518. Mickey D Says:

    We’ll get the doyers tomorrow.

  519. dan Says:

I would love to see Joey B stick one in Manny’s ear

  520. NEPA Says:

We better win that game tomorrow. Gotta stay up and not fall back into a 2-2 tie.

  521. AC in NJ Says:

    Never easy, is it?

  522. Jamie Says:

I’d like to see them win it all at the Bank, but I’d rather see them win the next two and not drop any more. It would be nice to celebrate on the Dodgers’ turf just to rub it in their classless faces. Buck would hate that.

  523. SJ Mike Says:

The loss is disappointing, but the classless antics of the Dodgers tonight with Russel Martin’s cherry on top postgame comments really is fuming me.

  524. NEPA Says:

For anyone watching ESPN’s postgame interview with Chollie – you can’t hear a word of it because the Dodgers are screaming “Our House” at the top of their lungs.

  525. dan Says:

On ESPN Charlie’s press conference is pretty funny. The reporters are pretty terrible and Charlie’s just being Charlie. I’ve grown to love the man, regardless of this past week.

  526. DodgerBlue Says:

Yes hit Martin and Manny and then I would loved to see Utley get hit right between the eyes.

  527. SJ Mike Says:

    Nepa, I heard that myself.

  528. Jeffrey Says:

Can anyone explain why it’s even remotely credible that we’re being treated as the underdogs in this series? Surely, someone can point me to a reasonable analysis of the NLCS that breaks down the pro-L.A. argument.
Same for the ALCS. The Rays beat up on the Sox all year and win the division but they’re treated like a freak of nature.
I guess I’m not cynical enough to want to believe that it really all is about ratings.

  529. AC in NJ Says:

Phils need to approach Lowe tomorrow with patience, more than they did Game 1.

  530. Mickey D Says:

Jeffrey, we don’t have Manny. It’s not a team sport, just as Joe and Timmy.

  531. Mickey D Says:

Lowe got rattled, if we get him early he’ll think he’s got the postseason choker like Sabbathia.

  532. dan Says:

DodgerBlue, go suck a big one. Your team has such trashy players. Victorino responded with class, Martin and Kurdoa responded with nothing but disrespect. We know it’s part of the game, but how you handle yourself is really what it comes down to.

  533. SJ Mike Says:

I would love to hear Larry Anderson’s thoughts on the bench clearing and Russel Martin acting like a brat.

  534. Geoff Says:

Yeah I think Blanton gets the win tomorrow. Lowe may tire. I dont think they can use Moyer again in this series. Too much of a risk..Happ was fine tonight.

Bad pitching did them in tonight, but Kuroda is going to be one of those guys that just always owns them. You know why? because they were unable to sign him in the offseason. So naturally he becomes a Phillie killer.

I fully expect this team to win tomorrow and if Hamles goes on Wednesday it will be all over.

  535. Manny Says:

I’m not optimistic about tomorrow… and I truly hate Manny Ramirez. But we need to keep our cool and be patient at the plate. Win tomorrow. We can do it.

  536. AC in NJ Says:

If this goes 7, who are the Phils starting in Game 7? At this point, I’d prefer to see Blanton again – regardless of what happens tomorrow. I think I’ll have a heart attack with Moyer up there again.

  537. DodgerBlue Says:

Vic had it coming. He plays dirty. He is going to get somebody hurt. And they did not hit him. How about Meyers throwing behind Manny’s head and then Martin today? Its ok when the Phillies do it and not the Dodger’s? If the Phillies do that they have to expect it back. And if they don’t like then they should not do it! What comes around goes around. And by doing that they are just getting the Dodger’s angry and want to beat them more.

  538. Jeffrey Says:

I feel bad for Moyer. He’s been so dependable and these last two starts aren’t the real him. I wouldn’t put him back out there to face the Dodgers but if we advance, he should keep his spot.

  539. SJ Mike Says:

DodgerBlue, you’re completely delusional if you think Myers was throwing at Manny. That ball slipped out of his hands.

  540. Tim Malcolm Says:

    Let’s see …

    MON – Blanton
    TUE
    WED – Hamels
    THU
    FRI – Myers
SAT – Could be Moyer, Blanton, Happ or Hamels on three-days’. As of this moment I’d say Blanton. But if the Dodgers hit him well, I’d go with Hamels, possibly. Best case? We don’t need seven.

  541. Jeffrey Says:

There’s that Victorino hating again. I honestly don’t know what people are complaining about.
I also don’t understand why people troll on other team’s fan blogs. What a waste of everyone’s time.

  542. GOOSEBUMPS Says:

whats up with that postgame? all the dodgers yelling while charlie is trying to talk. wtf? talk about class….

  543. dan Says:

Explain to me, DodgerBlue, how Vic plays dirty? Or how it will result in someone getting hurt.

  544. Robbi P Says:

how is victorino going to hurt somone? Plays at the plate if anything should hurt him. and If you think Manny head was thrown at you need to take another look. Btw I love Mitch Williams

  545. dan Says:

And if we threw at Martin, I agree that we had it coming back. As I said, it’s how you respond. Just looking at Vic and Martin’s postgame interviews say enough

  546. Chase Mutley Says:

DodgerBlue, seriously, how many Phillies games have you ever watched? What do you honestly know about Shane Victorino? Admit it, you know nothing of him “playing dirty”, you’re just repeating shit you read on the internet.

If you think Brett Myers threw at Manny’s back (which he said was a mistake on the field, which never happens in baseball) was intentional — or for goodness sake, Jaime Moyer’s blazing 80 mph fastball in the knee with men in scoring position in the first f-ing inning of a NLCS game you’re out of your mind.

  547. dan Says:

“Aggresivity” -Another great Russell Martin quote.

  548. SJ Mike Says:

Mitch Williams just said it best.

  549. DodgerBlue Says:

Lets face it the same thing your saying about the Dodger’s class and fans are the same thing they are saying about the Phillies. Vic plays reckless and thats fine but sooner or later he is going to hurt himself or someone else. You said myers said it was a mistake with throwing behind Manny and today them throwing at Martin then maybe it was a mistake thrown at Vic. You don’t know if it was or not so don’t speculate.

  550. SJ Mike Says:

DodgerBlue, you clearly didn’t see Martin’s postgame interview where he admitted that it was intentional at Victorino.

Myers’ pitch to Manny slipped. It went behind Manny. It wasn’t even close to hitting him.

Moyer never throws at people. He isn’t that type of person, plus Martin leaned his knee into the pitch.

Condrey’s pitch look iffy and probably had some intent. And Victorino knew it was coming, as did everyone else.

Throwing at someone’s head can kill someone.

In the postgame, Martin said in a joking manner that it wasn’t thrown at Victorino’s head, it was thrown over his head. He said it was to make a statement.

So tell me once again who was playing without class you arrogant prick.

  551. dan Says:

Buddy. Let’s be real. Did you hear the interview with Martin? It wasn’t a mistake. And how does one play reckless(ly)?

  552. dan Says:

Mike aid it better than I did.

  553. dan Says:

    said*

  554. dan Says:

Torre showing his class on ESPN. One of the only Dodgers I have respect for.

  555. dan Says:

ESPN announcers, however, with little class.

“For Phillies fans, and we know who you are…”

    WHAT?!?

  556. SJ Mike Says:

Torre is a class act. Without a doubt.

Dan, what did ESPN say/mean by that comment?

  557. DodgerBlue Says:

You want to look at people standing to close to the plate look at Utley he even tries to get hit with the ball so if he gets hit your going to say thats bs too right? All I know is that the Phillies have a chance to win this series and go the the world series. But, if they keep getting the Dodger players mad it could hurt the Phillies in the end.

  558. dan Says:

No idea. I didn’t really catch what they said after, some stat though. What does it mean? Well, I guess that’s up to interpretation. I quoted it right, they just went into the stat afterwards.

  559. SJ Mike Says:

DodgerBlue, Russel Martin and Manny Ramirez were throwing hissy fits. Your pitchers were throwing blame at each other over the others not hitting opposing players.

Standing close to the plate is a hitter’s choice. They can stand where they want in the batter’s box. There isn’t a single incident EVER where Chase Utley has charged the mound or even give a remote glare at a pitcher when hit. He takes his base and doesn’t say a word.

My point about Martin leaning into the pitch that was thrown by Moyer is that Moyer’s pitch was clearly not intentional.

    You are seriously delusional.

  560. dan Says:

No one gets mad when Utley gets hit besides the team who hits him. He certainly doesn’t take offense, even when it breaks his hand (see Lannan, John). We know he crowds the plate, and no one has ever retalliated to Utley getting one on the back shoulder.

  561. SJ Mike Says:

Dan, to also follow up, Mitch Williams brought up a stat how little the Phillies pitchers throw at players. They rarely hit players.

  562. Chase Mutley Says:

DodgerBlue, I’m sure this is the first time you’ve watched baseball since 1988 but, teams don’t make it to the World Series just because they’re mad at the other team. The Dodgers beat up on Jaime Moyer in one inning. We’ll be fine.

  563. dan Says:

Right, Mike. I think they really weren’t trying to stir things up. Condrey’s pitch is debatable, but the last thing we wanted to do was fire those guys up. No one on our team is stupid or egotistical enough to do something to earn a suspension or anything. I said earlier, I’d like to see Manny get one in the ear, but that’s just for my own personal enjoyment. It wouldn’t happen.

  564. dan Says:

Alright I’m out. Get em tomorrow Phils!

  565. MikeB Says:

Dodgers had their fun today. Phillies are going to come out the next two days with Blanton and Hamels and hammer down!

  566. DodgerBlue Says:

I quess you have not watched good baseball ever. I can understand that with the Phillies being your team! They only won (1) Championship in like 125 years but they are finally getting better. As far as Utley he throws his elbow into the pitch plenty of times because they need to get runners on base somehow. Talking about hissy fits you have a crying-hawaiian upset when a pitch comes close to them but its ok when you take out 2 catchers and try to take out a 2nd baseman standing up costing your team the 2 runs that had scored. And the pitch was not even at his head it was well behind and over his head just look at the replay.

  567. Jeffrey Says:

Can we all agree to stop responding to trolls so they go away?

  568. SJ Mike Says:

DodgerBlue, you’re clearly missing the point. Utley never once has complained nor have the Phillies retaliated.

Collissions at home plate happen. That is part of the game. They happen all the time. The objective is to knock the ball loose from the catcher. I guess you didn’t see Victorino hang around to make sure the catcher is ok.

And had Victorino not ducked, that pitch would’ve hit him square in the right ear. Your own players admitted they were trying to take him out you moron.

You are a delusional idiot, but if it inflates your ego more then your blow up doll to think this way, then do it to yourself in front of a mirror, not here.

  569. DodgerBlue Says:

Martin showed class after the 2ND TIME he was hit he took it and went to 1st base. He did not cry like the crying-hawaiian! The trolls are not going away this is their website!

  570. DodgerBlue Says:

And I guess you also believe that Durbin pitch did not mean to hit Martin? Moron!

  571. SJ Mike Says:

DodgerBlue, the 2nd ball that hit Martin was a curve ball that didn’t break. Everyone knows that wasn’t intentional.

Martin showed zero class when he was throwing stuff in the dugout, cursing up a storm, and then saying in his postgame interview making light of a 90+ mph fastball beamed at Victorino’s head, whose also had to deal with his grandmom dying on Friday.

I guess you forgot that a man died last year in baseball from being hit in the head. But then again, you clearly want to see blood.

By the way, the Phillies are still up 2-1 in the series.

You enjoy talking to yourself then.

  572. DodgerBlue Says:

I feel bad about Vic’s grandma. I actually think he is a very good player! He is a BIG part of that team but he plays reckless! Thats no excuse for almost being hit. But if you want to say he was thrown at I agree. But I do not agree it was intended to hit him in the head! You have pitchers that retaliate that the ball got up too much. So you are telling me that he meant to hit Vic 90 mph in the head then you are a MORON! nO PITCHER IS GOING TO INTENTIONALY HIT SOMEONE IN THE HEAD! But that should wake the Phillies pitchers up by not getting them in that situation were that can happen by accident. Just like Myers, Moyer and Durban there pitches got away I am sure they meant to hit Vic but NOT IN THE HEAD!!!

  573. SJ Mike Says:

So please tell me where that pitch was supposed to hit him then?

No matter how you slice it, that pitch went straight for his head. And it came no a pitch that was meant to be intentional. So where do you draw the line. “Oh, I meant to hit you, just not beam you in the head where it could kill you.”

And Victorino said all the right things. He said that if you’re going to hit him, don’t throw at his head. Kuroda, Martin, and Ramirez provoked that bench brawl because Manny can’t get out of his own world and think it revolves around him.

But you keep thinking your delusional thoughts and think everything is hunky dory.

  574. DodgerBlue Says:

Well they said it was meant to hit him but not up at his head. Atleast they came out and said it instead of Myers, Moyer, Durban, etc. saying it was a mistake. Myers let that ball go behind Manny’s head. Its ok your more mad because of Manny being on the Dodger’s which I do not understand why? Could it be because yesturday the Phillies fans were bitching all night the anouncers are only talking about Manny and not the Phillies? Maybe because the Phillies GM did not go out and try to get him in a trade or they almost had him actually.

  575. MikeB Says:

Most Phillies fans did not want Manny in a Phillies uniform.

  576. SJ Mike Says:

Myers’ pitch went behind Manny’s back and if you look at the play in slow motion, it clearly slipped. We’ve seen Myers for many years now. Trust me, if he was intending to hit Manny, he would have. That is just your delusional fantasy.

Moyer’s pitch was a soft toss that hit Martin on the back knee when he was moving his back knee towards the plate, which many players do when they are going to swing. We’ve seen Moyer all year. He does not intentionally throw at people. He is not that kind of pitcher.

Durbin’s pitch was a curve ball that clearly got away. If you’re a pitcher and want to hit someone intentionally, you throw a fastball, not a curveball.

So all 3 were mistakes. Why can’t you accept that?

Condrey’s up and in was questionable and I admit looked iffy and would give very good reason to get upset.

Kuroda’s pitch clearly was gunning right for Victorino’s head. All he did was protest the location of where he was going to hit, not complaining that he was going to get hit.

And as for Manny, the Phillies and their fans did not want him. At all. Did not want to welcome his diva antics and the circus he brings with him.

  577. SJ Mike Says:

Brett Myers: “It’s Manny Ramirez. I wanted to throw it 100 [m.p.h.]. I threw the first one inside, and I wanted to throw the next one even harder. To be successful, I have to throw inside. I don’t want to hit their best player. If I hit their best player, they’re going to throw at one of our best players. I don’t want to get one of our guys hurt.”

  578. DodgerBlue Says:

You still have no clue. No pitcher is going to throw at somebody’s head and try to kill them. He was pitching to hit him but it had to get away a little bit. Just like Myers, Moyer’s and Durban’s did. The pitch that went to Martins head was closer then the one that went up on Vic. Look at the replay! If you pitch up and in mistakes can happen so then don’t pitch up and in and nobody will be crying about it. Just play baseball and stop the BS! One mistake could cost either team if someone gets hurt! And then what?

  579. DodgerBlue Says:

The Dodger’s are going to bitch when they get thrown at and the Phillies are going to bitch when they get thrown at. If they throw at someone mistakes happen but thats the chances you take if your throwing at the other team. The hitters have to be more aware when their own pitchers are throwing at the other team a few times that they are taking a big chance of their own hitters getting thrown at. Thats Baseball!

  580. SJ Mike Says:

So 2 wrongs make a right. Good to know you support that sort of logic and retaliation.

Condrey’s pitch was high and tight to Martin and I do not condone nor have I ever did. But Martin made it far more dramatic then he had to by falling down when a simple lean back would have avoided it. And he then glared down Condrey in a staring contest. Then threw his equipment around after he grounded out. Continued it into the dugout.

You’re still thinking that Myers, Moyer, and Durbin were pitching to hit players intentionally which they were not. Get it through your thick skull, those were not intentional. Condrey’s you can argue was, but the others weren’t.

The Dodgers took the field wanting blood and knowing damn well they were going to throw at someone that inning. So you’re condoning intentionally hitting players (and don’t twist that as saying I’m condoning Condrey’s pitch because I’m not).

Everyone knew the pitch was coming at Victorino and had he not ducked, that would have shot him clear in the side of the head. The Dodgers went out thinking retaliation and they were the ones picking fights and on trying to get in an on the field brawl. Pitches are going to go in tight to players. But cursing off someone (Martin) and trying to pick a fight (Manny) is something you can hold back and not be a “mistake.”

So you, sir, clearly are the one who doesn’t get it and have no clue.

Enjoy thinking the way you want to though. You’ll be talking to yourself.
