Free J.C. T-Shirts – Reduced Price

Posted by Brian Michael, Wed, January 07, 2009 02:04 PM

Update – we lowered the price to the shirts to pretty much the bare minimum CafePress will allow. I think they raised the base prices in anticipation of all the Obama shirts they are going to sell this month. But have no fear, we are working on cutting out the middleman -  check out another shirt we produced on our own in the new Phillies Nation Store.  If you already bought a shirt at the original price and want the difference back in your pocket, cancel it and order a new one, or email us.

Free J.C.

We’re not the first, but we got a pretty cool new shirt to help protest this fiasco and support the J.C. Romero and his innocence.  Fight the Power!

Love the shirt but i dont have 26 bucks layin around

  2. Joe O'Phillie Says:

I’d like to see a tee with Romero handcuffed with a ping pong ball in his mouth like Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction with Bud Selig as the Gimp.

  3. Jh Says:

Yea Tim, make the shirts like 10 bucks less and I bet more people would buy ur shirts

  4. Dean Says:

I like the shirt, but I have to agree with the others regarding the price.

I didn’t happen to see a fan forum, so I’m going to post this here and hopefully it’s okay with the administrators.

As you may already know, Baseball America released it’s Top 10 PHI prospects list today.

I’ve put together a few pages reflecting BA’s top 10’s. The pages show the past few seasons for side-by-side comparisons along with this years reviews. The pages are formatted by division which allows you to read multiple teams on one page instead of going back and forth.

Congratulations on the Championship. It was well deserved.

If you go to the main page, you’ll find pictures of a few PHI prospects.

    Peace.

Why should they free him, he broke the rules, get over it!

  7. Fran Says:

people like josh i cant stand

  8. David Says:

Josh is right. He broke the rules. And before you get all worked up about what Im saying, read up on this situation a bit. First, he reportedly “tested positive for 6-OXO Extreme, a product that enhances testosterone production in ways very similar to anabolic steroids. While legal and still available at your local GNC, 6-OXO Extreme has always carried a warning that it could result in positive tests. 6-OXO is a product of Ergopharm. Ergopharm is owned and operated by a guy you might remember: Patrick Arnold. Arnold was the source for the THG used by BALCO. 6-OXO is loaded with Vitamin B-6 and carries a label stating ‘Use of this product may be banned by some athletic or government associations (including military)…If Romero didn’t know what he was taking, he sure got unlucky in picking the product marked ‘for hardcore users only’ and with a connection that baseball fans would rather forget.’”-Will Carroll via Rob Neyer. I don’t know what is or isn’t true for sure. Most of us don’t. But if this report by Will Carroll is accurate, then I don’t feel much sympathy for Romero. Ignorance of the law is never a valid defense in our legal system, it shouldn’t be in baseball’s “legal system.”

  9. Sarah Wayne Says:

FYI there’s an article in the New York Times today about the situation. Of course it leaves 0 room for Romero being innocent (which obviously he is).

    Grrrr!

  10. Pat Says:

Sarah, if you think the article is bad, do you think there is any coincidence to it being written my Michael Schmidt?

  11. joshua Says:

Fran you can’t stand me cause I’m right!

  12. James K. Says:

The dude broke the rules. End of story. Suspension warranted.

This is what the people wanted in the wake of the Mitchell Report (definitive rules, harsh punishments) and now that it happens to a Phillie everyone whines about it. Gimme a break.

  13. Rob K Says:

    Shirt should read:

    Don’t Let OUR JC (Romero)
    Die for Baseball’s Sins!

  14. Wilson Says:

Actually David…they just started putting that label on the product in the early fall….months after Romero started taking it and after he tested positive. Originally that label was not included on the packaging and was shown as evidence at the arbitration hearing.

  15. sean Says:

Tim, I like this idea of the Phillies Nation Store with the Broad Street Bootlegs shirt. Perhaps, you could sell some more phillies designs from local artists and “garment makers,” (is that the right word?) My friend has a shirt that reads “Phinally Phree” with Willy Penn and The Phanatic shaking hands. If you could get your hands on shirts like that and strike deals with the creators, I think it would be beneficial to everyone involved.

  16. Jh Says:

thanks alot tim, late xmas present never hurts

  17. mg52 Says:

J.C. should not have consumed the material, and a minor suspension perhaps would be valid. But this is lunacy. Why has Major League Baseball not gone after the real violators of natural ability?

  18. applegirl Says:

i think that people that have nothing positive to say shouldnt even bother posting anything….and for JOE O’PHILLIE i bet on the world series you were cheering like a little girl ”hipocrite”

  19. tobi Says:

pLS I need soma T_Shrit if you can help me to get soma of the t_shrit i will be very happy thank you.

  20. tobi Says:

sorry i can not submit the pics now.

  21. A Says:

Ignorance of the law is never a valid defense in our legal system, it shouldn’t be in baseball’s “legal system.”

That’s nice, but “mistake of fact” and “lack of requisite intent” ARE valid defenses in our legal system. I don’t know what kind of shit law school you went to, but you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.
