Rebirth At Phillies Nation

Posted by Tim Malcolm, Fri, February 06, 2009 12:00 PM

Spring (to us) begins one week from today. That’s P&C day, the greatest day of the year.

With spring comes rebirth, and here at Phillies Nation, I’ll be rolling out a revamped system for content in 2009. Here’s what’s on tap:

The Nation Minute
The 1:00 daily video feature will be back, updated each morning at 6 a.m. It’ll recap the stories from the day before in very quick fashion.

Odds and Ends
This has been an arbitrary feature when news needs to be mopped up quickly; in 2009, O&E will be presented each Saturday with things missed, and things extra, from the week.

Mug of Malcolm
Wake up on Sunday mornings with a healthy column written by yours truly. Seeing as I love to delve into subjective commentaries, I’m reserving a spot for that each week.

Sunday Nights
Sunday nights will be reserved for features that run once a month — there will be four. First is Nation Sessions, which begin this Sunday night, and will highlight a six-pack of beers reviewed by yours truly. Second is Mailbag, where I dive in and take your questions. Third is Moniker, where we give a nickname to someone in the organization. And fourth is Fan Tales, where we share stories about certain topics concerning the Phillies. The schedule to start:

Feb. 8: Nation Sessions
Feb. 15: Moniker
Feb. 22: Fan Tales
March 1: Mailbag

Analysis
Instead of providing opinion in the news posts, I’ll be separating with analysis posts, coming shortly after the news is reported. This way we don’t blur the line between fact and opinion.

As always, news and features will continue to be the hallmark of the content at Phillies Nation. And we’ll be doing more with you readers in 2009, as well. The rollout begins Monday, Feb. 16 with the Nation Minute.

Naturally, the Nation Sessions would come on the FIRST sunday.

Tim, I like the cut of your jib!

  2. Mike T. Says:

Tim, new website design as well?

  3. Tim Malcolm Says:

Nah, that’s not my jurisdiction. I’m solely baseball-related content.
