Tim- that’s the best roster write-up that I’ve seen but it assumes that Charlie is only keeping 11 pitchers (or 10, which is crazy). Charlie has only hinted at the idea of keeping 11 pitchers. If he keeps 12, that would mean that Majewski or Koplove are in (feel bad for the homeboy but I give the nod to Majewski… rule 5) and we don’t get a RH bench bat (unless you can move Stairs or Jenkins, both lefties).

Dipsy- I’ve been thinking that might be a possibility for a while (an Oswalt trade). They would have to help us free up some cap space, otherwise I don’t think that it happens but in the end, they’re up against rebuilding a franchise and a top tier pitcher is not going to be happy in that situation.

Hate to see Donald go because he has done so well but it is necessary… he should be seeing a lot of time at 3B. I really hope that he develops the defensive tools to play that position. He has a lot of work to do to win that job, in my opinion.

It’s crazy to think that we can’t find a spot for talent…

I knew there wouldn’t be any room for Koplove on the roster, but man I would loved to see him make it. The hometown kid getting to play for his team story is always a good one. He’s had a great spring too, but between Happ and Majewski there really isn’t a spot open.

If the Phils are willing to eat almost all of Jenkins contract, someone will definitely take him. And he might start somewhere. Just have this crazy feeling that Ozuna is gonna be the righty. Lehigh Valley is gonna have a nice squad this year. Marson, Donald, Mayberry, Happ, Carrasco. I see Ed Wade going to the well one more time and giving us Oswalt at the deadline for Jeremy Slayden and Joe Savery.

Apparently the Phils are willing to eat almost all of $8 million that Jenkins has left on his deal, but I don’t think there will be any takers.

This is going to be the first time in memory that the Phillies are going to be letting go of some real quality players. We’d give our left nut for a Majewski, or Koplove in some years and the plethera of MI Amarao brought in is impressive. I’d like to see some wheeling and dealing in the next few days.

IMO, I think the Phils are going to find a way to trade Jenkins and keep Stairs. Just a gut feeling.

Oh, and I’d rather keep Coste over Paulino, at this point. Paulino has had a HUGE chance to put up some decent numbers while Coste was absent… and he didn’t. Coste, we all know what he can bring. He should be able to get some good ABs in the remaining days of ST.

Stairs and Ozuna have been great. And I don’t wanna give up on Jenkins just yet! Agh

And Mayberry should start in the minors, playing everyday and getting ready for a call-up anytime during the season (filling in for any of our 3 outfielders)

It was pretty obvious with the return of Utley and Felix, that Jason Donald would go to Lehigh Valley (AAA) so he can play regularly and get his everyday AB’s.

did you guys see Buster Olney saying Schilling won’t get into the hall? i thought he was a given. any thoughts?
