March 21st, 2009 at 2:41 pm
any word on which system we’ll be using (espn / yahoo)?
March 21st, 2009 at 3:00 pm
Looks like it’ll be Yahoo, CT.
March 21st, 2009 at 3:41 pm
i think yahoo is a lot eaiser to read. I like the layout there
March 21st, 2009 at 3:50 pm
I like ESPN better personally. Are we doing roto or h2h? I want in on the West Philly neighborhood or Girard Estates. I currently live in West Philly but I’m moving to Girard Estates in a month.
March 21st, 2009 at 4:24 pm
We’ll be doing roto so we can have an overall winner. It’ll be through Yahoo.
March 21st, 2009 at 4:54 pm
I’m looking forward to this…it may be the only league in the country where you can pickup Jose Reyes or David Wright after the first 4 picks.
March 21st, 2009 at 5:53 pm
Whoever picks a Met WILL BE BOOED
March 21st, 2009 at 7:03 pm
id pick wright or reyes in the 1st round
March 21st, 2009 at 8:10 pm
Im guessing its too late to sign up?
March 21st, 2009 at 11:37 pm
what philly neighborhoods should we use if that wins? i think some of the generic names like “west philly” and “south philly” should probably be excluded.
some suggestions:
kensington
juniata
mayfair
fish town
northern liberties
rittenhouse
fairmount
bella vista
society hill
queen village
point breeze
pennsport
passyunk square
logan square
old city
washington square

CT: Add Port Richmond or you die.
March 21st, 2009 at 11:43 pm
University City!!
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:18 am
I’ve only ever done Head to Head, how does roto work?
March 22nd, 2009 at 8:46 am
It’s not too late to sign up, email us if you want to join.
If we get low on hoods, I might start using some less-known Northeast spots since there are a lot and that’s where I’m from (Morrell, Chalfont, Bridesburg, Tacony).
CT, thanks for getting us started.
March 22nd, 2009 at 10:24 am
Go Phils!! I would like to play Fantasy Baseball!
March 22nd, 2009 at 11:44 am

March 22nd, 2009 at 11:46 am
wikipedia has a pretty comprehensive list:

March 22nd, 2009 at 12:03 pm
Mayfair son. 19149 represent.
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Frankford? Oxford Circle? How about the Burbs?
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:33 pm
Mayfair playground has the best stickball spot in all of NE Philly… the yard along Hawthorne Ave.. that spray-painted StrikeZone was done by yours truly like ten years ago. holla.
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:35 pm
I still get my stickball on there from time to time. Though, that place definitly favors right handed hitters.
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:37 pm
Any way we can still sign up?
March 22nd, 2009 at 12:48 pm
we shorten the field.. gotta hit it between that light pole down the “3rd base line” and the only place you can hit a HR is if it crosses the part of the fence that runs parallel to Hawthorne..
I’m talking Speed-Pitch though..
For bounce ball you play long ways and hit close to St. Vincent, towards Princeton ave… which DEFINITELY favors the Right handed batters
March 22nd, 2009 at 2:04 pm
I’m tossing Fox Chase into the hat.
March 22nd, 2009 at 2:45 pm
My whole family for the most part grew up in Girard Estates and I’m moving to Girard Estates in a couple of months. Make that a neighborhood! I live in West Philly now in the Cedar Park neighborhood. I want to join either of those!
