NLCS Gameday: Dodgers at Phillies, Game 4
Posted by Pat Gallen, Mon, October 19, 2009 06:37 PM
Los Angeles Dodgers (1-2) at Philadelphia Phillies (2-1)
Randy Wolf, LHP vs. Joe Blanton, RHP
Time: 8:07 p.m at Citizens Bank Park
Weather: Clear, 44
TV: TBS
Twitter: Phillies Nation
Ho-Lee smokes. That was some sort of outing, eh?
Cliff Lee absolutely dominated the L.A. Dodgers last night at CBP, firing an eight-inning gem to put the Phils up 2-1 in the NLCS. His performance was one of the finest in Phillies history.
Joe Blanton doesn’t have to repeat last night’s outing, but no one would mind if he did. Although he has not started a game since October 2 against Florida, Blanton has toed the rubber twice during the playoffs, with both appearances coming against Colorado in relief. Last postseason against the Dodgers, Blanton was decent, giving up three earned runs over five innings in the Game 4 victory. A repeat performance of that would be just fine tonight. And if Blanton comes up big, the Phillies will be in control of this series.
Standing in the way of that is an old Philly favorite. Randy Wolf will face off against the Phils for the fourth time in his career, but the first in the playoffs as a member of the Dodgers. Wolf is 1-1 against his former club in 2009, with two very different games. On May 13 in Philadelphia, Wolf was brilliant, striking out eight over six-innings, allowing just one earned run. On June 7, the Phils traveled to L.A. and knocked him around for six earned over 6 1/3. Which Wolfie will we see tonight? Hopefully the latter.
Amazingly, Pedro Feliz has owned Randy Wolf in his career. Feliz is 5-for-17 against Wolf with three homers. However, on the flip side, Ryan Howard has been awful against the junkball-throwing lefty. The Big Piece is just 1-for-9 with four punchouts in his career.
Blanton has been good against Matt Kemp (2-for-11) and Casey Blake (1-for-21) during his career, but awful against Manny Ramirez (14-for 25, HR, 8 RBI) and James Loney (5-for-8).
A commanding 3-games-to-1 lead is on the line tonight in South Philly, and it’s up to Joe Blanton to keep the ball rolling.
Tonight’s Lineup: Rollins (SS), Victorino (CF), Utley (2B), Howard (1B), Werth (RF), Ibanez (LF), Feliz (3B), Ruiz (C), Blanton (P).
Your Gameday Beer – Sierra Nevada Porter
Sierra Nevada Porter doesn’t have the same malt taste as other beers from the brewery. It has a smoky flavor with hints of dark chocolate in the aftertaste. It is remarkably smooth and an overall great tasting genuine porter. This should keep you nice and warm on this chilly October evening. For dinner tonight: Steak. – By Pat
GO PHILLIES!

As a Dodgers fan, I really, really like tonight’s chances. Cliff Lee is amazing, obviously, but he can’t pitch every night and he certainly isn”t pitching tonight.
Joe Blanton is good, but he is no Cliff Lee, or even a Cole Hamels.
There will be a lot of sad faces at Citizens Business Bank Park tonight.
As many say in Cali, esta noche sera la noche del lobo.
Tonight will be the Night of the Wolf.
October 19th, 2009 at 7:30 pm
Please….
October 19th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Dodger Blue…..I predict a close game 6 to 5… but sorry your guys go down . LETS GO PHILLIES!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 7:44 pm
Go for the Jugular tonight, boys!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 7:53 pm
I think Randy is rattleable (is that a word?), I seem to remember him losing control somewhat in this park when he pitched for the Phils.
October 19th, 2009 at 7:58 pm
Your right Dodger Blue, Joe Blanton isn’t Cliff Lee, or Cole Hamels, but neither is Padilla, Wolf, Kershaw, Kuroda or whoever else the Dodgers throw out there. You all are very confident considering you haven’t won a game yet. The Phillies gift wrapped one for you.
I honestly think I am beginning to dislike Dodger trolls more than Met’s trolls.
October 19th, 2009 at 7:59 pm
As a Phillies fan, I really like tonight’s chances.

George, Wolf is definitely rattleable – good point.

Looks like Yanks/Angels dont feel like ending anytime soon
October 19th, 2009 at 8:29 pm
i’m listening to the WPHT feed
what are the TBS announcers whining about?
October 19th, 2009 at 8:30 pm
TBS announcers were whining that Wolf was getting squeezed (probably true) but dont think they gotta make it so obvious
October 19th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
nice Blanton, nice
October 19th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
BlanTon! Looking good… keep throwin’ strikes.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:33 pm
Did Howard just tie Gerhig’s consecutive play-off RBI’s?
October 19th, 2009 at 8:34 pm
Interesting fact:
The Angels have never had a walkoff HR in their postseason history
October 19th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Angels win 5-4 walkoff double
October 19th, 2009 at 8:35 pm
Angels win.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
j reed – Yes.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
I think the Angels won
October 19th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
Angels just win with a walkoff double by Mathis scoring Kendrick from first.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:36 pm
Where is his strike zone?
October 19th, 2009 at 8:38 pm
He did J-reed.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:40 pm
Although didn’t Gehrig do it over several seasons?
October 19th, 2009 at 8:45 pm
Ok Big Joe, back to work. Another shutdown inning please sir!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:46 pm
Come on fellas, keep the pressure on.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:47 pm
Yes Gehrig did. But now so has Howard. 8 games this post season and 4 from last year.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Blantons fastball loving strong, he is keeping the ball down.
BOOOOOOOOOOO WOLF LOL
October 19th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
Stay classy Phiilies fans! Boo Randy Wolf.
Philly fans as classy as always!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:49 pm
another 1-2-3 inning for Blanton!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:51 pm
No – Ryan has had rbis in 8 post-season games this year.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Sherlock Holmes looks good!
October 19th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
They seem to be hitting Blanton fairly hard. Let’s hope they keep finding Philly gloves.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Sorry – I mis-read your comment, Ed.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
Who is this “Lou Gehrig”?
October 19th, 2009 at 8:52 pm
LOL Dodger Blue……maybe we should get give him a standing ovation.
Guess we will if we knock him out early
October 19th, 2009 at 8:55 pm
Sorry Dodger BLEW…. We will try to class it up now that your here.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:57 pm
Is he the guy with that disease named after him?
October 19th, 2009 at 8:58 pm
I mean… I didn’t hear many Dodger fans sucking up to Jayson Werth… what are you saying troll? What do you expect it’s the playoffs… you pansy.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:58 pm
PS: My apologizes to anyone who knows, has known, or has L.G’s disease. I was not trying to be offensive to anyone.
October 19th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
s’okay, Ed. I was going to joke that it was dumb to name a guy after a disease.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:01 pm
None taken …Ed
October 19th, 2009 at 9:04 pm
I’m surprised that umpires don’t have helmets. Sooner or later, a line drive of that velocity will hit someone in the side of the head, like it did that poor first base coach.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:04 pm
OUCH!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
YOOOO he got mashed with that line drive! He shoulda just stayed put he jumped into it.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:05 pm
YES!!!! Whew, I was worried for a moment there.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Holy Sh*t Victorino can cover some ground.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:06 pm
Nice Vic.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:07 pm
You know, Cruzin, every time I see your name I think of the Real Men of Genius commercial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rObUmdRMPoI
October 19th, 2009 at 9:07 pm
YOU DID STEROIDS!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
YOU DID STEROIDS!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
George Lopez isn’t funny. How does he get another show?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Come on Blanton
October 19th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Come on, Joe, you can do this!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
You know, I really hate Manny.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
Crowd is LOOOOUD
October 19th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
No offspeed stuff to WoManny!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
damn
October 19th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
Son of a b*tch.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
Dammmnnnnn. Minimize this damage!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:12 pm
blah, come on Blanton!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
Come on Joe, shut em down now. No more
October 19th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
Ump is all over the place
October 19th, 2009 at 9:13 pm
rut ro
October 19th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
WALKKKK damnn
October 19th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Gotta bear down here!!!! Big time pitches Joe
October 19th, 2009 at 9:14 pm
Am I the only one a little frustrated when the TBS announcer suggested to Torre that he slow Blanton down?
What the hell is that?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:15 pm
ugh, Blanton’s falling apart.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
I don’t think we’ve seen Blanton’s change-up, have we?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
Not good…not good…keep the faith…
October 19th, 2009 at 9:16 pm
oh man…
October 19th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
Ok got the damage control there…..tie game. Lets get to work with those bats
October 19th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Well, that could have been so much worse. Still in it. We have more outs to work with. Now all we need to do is somehow remind the Phillies hitters that just because they’re facing Randy Wolf, doesn’t mean they’ve won. I think they’ll be fine, though. Hopefully, Blanton got his focus back.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Blanton looked aweful against a bunch of scrubs. Nobody on this dodger team scares me. get happ out there in the 5th.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
Utley, Howard, and Werth. let’s go!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
LOL Tracey…… I am a dealer for cruzin coolers. They are these crazy coolers you can drive.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
It’s a whole new ballgame… let’s start over.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:21 pm
Why isn’t he throwing more sliders to the right handers.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
TBS announcers are garbage. They can hardly contain their excitement for LA, especially Carey. Glad I was at the park last night and didn’t have to listen to them.
And to “phans” that are starting to panic – it’s 2-2. You didn’t expect another 11-0 game, did you? Keep your cool. It’s a tie ball game.
We’re the F I G H T I N S!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
@Cruzin: Yeah, I remember seeing it in a Dave Barry column!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:23 pm
Gotta be patient with Wolf! Make him throw the fastball for a strike!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:24 pm
Exactly…………
October 19th, 2009 at 9:25 pm
Why would you be so quick to go to Happ? He hasn’t exactly looked good. 3 ER, 4 walks in 3 and a third innings in the post season.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:26 pm
That was a strike?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:26 pm
Why aren’t they showing any of these Wolf pitches on pitchtrax
Did you notice they completely stopped using it… wonder if MLB told them to stop because it is totally different than the umps strike zone.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:27 pm
Wolf is Moyer with an 8mph jump in his fastball. They’re bailing him out. Especially Rollins and Vic in the 3rd.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Met Horror – really? I didn’t notice. Interesting.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
and Utley… These umps continue to be all over the place.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Okay, so now we’ll see if Blanton’s recovered his focus.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:30 pm
Those announcers can spin it any way they want, fact is Torre f’d up his starting rotation for this series.
Ok, not sure where TBS gets its demographic info, but you’d think we’re all a bunch of greying, impotent, incontinent old men.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
Utley is swinging at some garbage, though. He has been down for a while.
These announcers need to get off the tying the series talk. Thinking positive thoughts, douches?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
I don’t think it’s that far fetched but we’ve all seen how many strikes that have popped up for either side that were called balls.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
Also, Blanton is having trouble sitting guys now. Too many two-strike losses. (And now he gets one.)
October 19th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
New drinking game! Take a drink every time you see Craig Sager wearing a ridiculous suit!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:32 pm
Settle back in Blanton, come on
October 19th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
The ump and the tbs guys are really starting to irrate me
October 19th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
Why is there always some chump in every sport that feels the need to make ridiculous suits that are not professional in any way their trademark. Who’s that guy in hockey… Don Cherry?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
ugh now we’re losing.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
shiiiiiiiit
October 19th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
argh
October 19th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
wow don’t blow a load tbs guys
October 19th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
Damn it Joe. Talk about a meat ball.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Danggggg
October 19th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Filthy change to go 0-2. Throw more of those, Joseph, won’t you?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Let’s go OFFENSE!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:35 pm
Ibanez, Feliz, and Ruiz. let’s get that run back & more!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
OK Phils: Time to get serious!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Eh, let’s get 7 serviceable out of Blanton. This looks to be two games with Phillies hitters not being able to hit scrub-quality former Phillie pitchers.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
Looks like our bullpen is gonna have to do the job tonight.
Lets go offense, pick it up!! Stop making Randy Wolf look like CY Young
October 19th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
No reason why they can’t start getting to Wolf, let’s turn his neck a pretty shade of scarlet red.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Count down to the Dodgers trolls showing up begins now…
October 19th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Ya I can’t wait for those Dodgers chumps to get back.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
“Mike D. Says:
October 19th, 2009 at 10:32 am
Blanton will be fine. Even if he trails – and I’ve a feeling he will because Steve Phillips said on ESPN that Wolf is apparently excellent against lefties with his high fastball – he’ll keep it close enough that we’ll come back and win it. Maybe my prediction for Lidge getting the win will come true.”
Half my prediction has come true. Time for the Phils to make the other half true.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Randy Wolf looks untouchable right now.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:39 pm
Dodger BLEW…. where are you?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
well this inning doesn’t look promising at all.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
C’mon Feliz!!!!! Enough with the swinging at the first pitch!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Wolf looks like a younger Ron Howard.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Feliz really, really is a batting liability.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:40 pm
Not time to panic……. Unfortun. the Phils think otherwise
October 19th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
Patience at the plate, c’mon!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
We’re in striking distance. If Joe delivers another inn or two with only one more ER, I’d say we’re in a great position. We’re just as capable, if not more so, of stealing one as the Dodgers. This team won’t give up.
LET’S GO PHILS!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:41 pm
man you could set your watch to Pedro Feliz
October 19th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Well, it looks like we shot our wad for the night and are now done. Here’s hoping our diva can get his head straight enough to win Wednesday night, or it’s lights out in LA on Friday. No way can we win two there. (And, if I’m wrong, I’m ecstatic!)
October 19th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
Georgie – your right, he does but with a little more heft
October 19th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
yet again… a close pitch where they didn’t show pitchtrax… I promise you MLB told TBS to stop using it.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Brilliant move, Charlie, leaving Blanton in the game.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
cas, the Phils have much more waddage left, don’t lose faith!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:44 pm
Biggest inning of the ballgame, obviously.
NEED a shutdown inning from Blanton!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
I feel good about the top of our lineup coming out against Randy Wolf next inning… I’m feeling at least a run or two.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
Can somebody please work with Feliz this offseason on plate discipline? Please???? For crying out loud. Idiot.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:46 pm
@Tracey, the way our hitting’s looked, it would just be a waste of a pitcher. Charlie’s made more right moves than wrong moves, so let’s wait and see.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:46 pm
@ AC:
Feliz is a career .250. He’s David Bell with a darker tan. Patience will just result in more called looking.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
cas, never mind… The Phils are down 1 run…. And Hamels will pitch well tomm. If needed, LA isn’t the Old Yankee Stadium.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Well, the dodgers were going to score, especially after last night. I just hate that after every BIG offense game where we score a ton of runs, the offense goes completely dead for the next game(s).
October 19th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Thrilled that Charlie left Blanton in for the next inning – he only has to face Manny and Loney now, with 84 pitches done.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:47 pm
Well quality AB by Chooch…at least we are not starting of the inning with the pitcher.
Mike D. – as to your last prediction….close but you had the teams backward
October 19th, 2009 at 9:48 pm
Wow Cas….. where’s your faith?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
DAMN the bounces just aren’t goin our way
October 19th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
dammit no freebies!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
we are like jeckyl and hide. get happy out there
October 19th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Game 5 lineup: 1. Victorino 2. Utley 3. Werth 4. Howard 5. Ibanez 6. Ruiz 7. Rollins 8. Feliz 9. pitcher.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:50 pm
blanton has had 2 strikes on a lot of these guys tonite and failed to seal the deal.
nice catch by Ibanez for out 1.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
now it’s a strike!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
well no luck here
October 19th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
dam almost
October 19th, 2009 at 9:51 pm
damn – the bounces REALLY aren’t going our way tonite. this is torture.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Got him this time. Prediction.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Yep.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Keep arguing Martin…please keep arguing
October 19th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
CLOSE pitch
October 19th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
finally – this ump gave the phils a call on strike 3. i think the guy sucks though – a lot of poor calls.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
C’mon guys this game is still very much winnable…just gotta stay cool, and BE PATIENT WITH WOLF!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:54 pm
Woww did you see that changeup
October 19th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
Oh noooo
October 19th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
man the errors!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
fuuuuuuuuuuck
October 19th, 2009 at 9:55 pm
Great. Just F*ckin great. Every stinking Dodger run comes in with 2 outs. Blanton is just not clutch when its needed, and Charlier shouldn’t have left him in.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
this inning should be over with if it wasn’t for our defense.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
Bounces, fellas. Dodgers are getting dink and donk hits. Some nights you get 11. Some nights the bad guys do.
Regardless of the outcome, I feel good with our prima donna and Lee still available in the series.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:56 pm
why not walk blake and go to a lefty???????
October 19th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
OK fellas, time for a comeback. They can’t make it too easy on us fans. Need to make you squirm to make sure you are paying attention.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
That’s f—ing strike 3!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
good managing tonight. leaving blanton in and not walking blake to get to wolf. wolf can hit but blake will hurt you more.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
ump sleep at the wheel
October 19th, 2009 at 9:57 pm
Where are the announcers bitching about that no call?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
THAT WAS RIGHT DOWN THE EFFING MIDDLE
October 19th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
a lefty to face the pitcher???
October 19th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
Just not good enough from Blanton tonight……and not much help defensively
October 19th, 2009 at 9:58 pm
happ should of been in and you walk blake. manuel is a horrible manager making moves.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
Time to put up a 5 spot.
October 19th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
Ok guys, we got a game with the Dodgers tonight. And that only means one thing. Bad news for the Dodgers!
October 19th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
OMG only 4 innings left. The Phills couldn’t possibly score 3 runs or more in 4 innings, can they?
October 19th, 2009 at 9:59 pm
Feliz really needs to sit. He has contributed less than nothing this postseason.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:00 pm
trying to work myself into a positive frame of mind for the B6th. Top of the order coming up – how much longer can Wolf keep this up? Let’s go Phils – Rally Time!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
The Phillies need to get their heads out of their butts and start playing. They are looking like the Eagles right now.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:01 pm
@ AGH:
I mentioned above: Feliz is a career .250. He’s David Bell. If he’s 1-1, expect 0-3. If he’s 0-3, he’ll hit. He’s clockwork, as someone mentioned above.
That being said, his defense is showing his age. He’s only going to get worse, unfortunately.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
One more championship before year 2012.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:02 pm
yeah it’s only the sixth inning so i’m not to bummed but the errors are killing every team this year…I mean so many yankee victorys this post season came the courtesy of other teams blunders. Look at game 2 of the Dodgers/Cardinals. And that was a good pitch by Blanton on Blake too… bad break on what should have never happened
October 19th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
no a lefty to force Torre’s hand. We need fastballs to hit. Wolf does not throw them in traditional fast ball counts. Rollins needs to be dropped in the order now.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:03 pm
alright Victorino!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Atta boy Vic! Nice hustle WoManny!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Wow that’s fast …
October 19th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Alriiight Vic
October 19th, 2009 at 10:04 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
rally time – gotta bring victorino home now. C’mon Utley…
October 19th, 2009 at 10:04 pm
Golden Boy needs to do something here.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:05 pm
Hey announcers–there’s your outside the zone strike! Bitch about it!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:05 pm
Utley can’t pull the trigger.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
Golden Boy strikes!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm

let’s go Howard!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
Attaboy, Chase. Come on, Big Piece. Do your thing.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
Thanks Charlie….
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
Solid Utley!! Let’s go Howard!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:06 pm
thank you mr. utley
October 19th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
There you go Chase. Sometimes you have to make things happen.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:07 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 10:07 pm
Attaboy Chase now, kid
October 19th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
Let’s hear you NOW Phillies fans
October 19th, 2009 at 10:09 pm
He’s got this. Prediction.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
pretty ballsy wolf
October 19th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
nice walk Howard, let’s go Werth!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Come on, Phillies. Knock the wheels off the Wolfbus.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Sweet, Wolf is falling apart. Word on the street is that he is rattleable.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
Werth hits a homer, I’m calling it now (knocks on wood).
October 19th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
And Howard has turned the page…. Great clutch hit by Chase!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
Wow Sandy Koufax in the house….
October 19th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
and out goes Wolf
October 19th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Koufax must have his brother there. The guy to his left is a clone.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
Rally time, fellas.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
What does this team do with their backs against the wall? RESPOND!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
Patience, Werth. Patience.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
focus jason
October 19th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
got lucky there, but not so lucky that Howard was safe.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
Phinally an error that goes our way
October 19th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
i dont know how they call that drop on the transfer
October 19th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
wasn’t safe*
come on Rauuuul
October 19th, 2009 at 10:16 pm
Koufax lives in the area. I forget where exactly, but somewhere nearby. He was at one of the NLCS games last year too.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
They made the right call. Ben Fran?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Raul: Hit it through a windshield in the parking lot.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
Speed on first, time for a gapper to go ahead
October 19th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
I would. We’ll see what happens.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
Need something big from you Raul.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
One Hit Raul!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:18 pm
Come on Raul. You have been money for us all year. Don’t let us down now.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
I hate Manny
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
F— you. Manny can’t catch a cheeseburger thrown at his fat ass. And he picks that.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
So apparently the roided up freak making an average play is the greatest athletic feat possible.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
wow… I’m sick to my stomach
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Damn it. No luck at all it seems.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Did you see Ryan’s reaction?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Oh so close
October 19th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
I hate Manny too. But. Still three innings left, and a one-run deficit.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
UGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH, through RAUUULLLL had that one!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
just hold’em here…. We’ll get that run back in the 7th
October 19th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
well we’ll here about that play all night long…Look at Manny he caught the ball, took a dump, chewed some tobacco, got a walk, fouled out….
October 19th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
cannot catch any breaks tonite. unfreakinbelievable.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Morris, I’ve muted the television. Suggest you do the same. You’ll be much more content.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
Hey Harry–
How about you and Whitey working a little magic from above, eh?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:23 pm
need a shut-down inning from park here….
October 19th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Feliz, Ruiz, and a PH (I don’t think we’ve had any pinch hits in the postseason yet, so it’d be nice if we can finally have one)
October 19th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Park got hurt when he shave the beard. The beard is back. Just saying.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Assuming Chan Ho gets a 3rd out I HOPE they bring him back for the 8th
October 19th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Chan HO, Chan Ho Chan Ho Chan Ho, Chan Hooooooom Chan Hoooooo
October 19th, 2009 at 10:24 pm
Park in the eighth, any takers?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Jesus. Skip Caray can talk. The other two have speech impediments, which makes listening even more painful.
What’s next? Game 5’s announcers: Helen Keller, Corky from Life Goes On, and an animated duo of Timmy and Jimmy.
(Going to hell. Not too concerned, as it’s because I sold my soul for the Series last year.)
October 19th, 2009 at 10:25 pm
Another sweet Phillies’ rally coming right up…
October 19th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
THAT WAS DOWN THE DICK OF THE PLATE
October 19th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
this ump is a piece of shit.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
Uh, that was strike three.
GOOD CALL!???!?!?!
BULLSH!T!!!!!
These announcers are crap.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
not a strike there?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:26 pm
Morris the game is synced with 1210 AM Broadcast
October 19th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Wow, he just totally blew that call.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Please get Manny out Pleaaase
October 19th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
Missed that strike
October 19th, 2009 at 10:27 pm
I’d be all for it depending on what the guys ahead of him do. We know Feliz will foul out and Ruiz will get a hit of some sort. Maybe have Park sacrifice Park over to 2nd and then let J-Roll do what J-Roll does.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
nice throw Ruiz!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
Sit down bitch!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
CHOOCHTOBER!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
OUT AT SECOND!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
CHOOOCH!
Rally time!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
Feliz, please do something.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:30 pm
Wow, they almost were tempted to compliment Ruiz on the throw out. Still managed to praise the roided up jackass for it somehow.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
chooooooooooooch
October 19th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
Bottom 7th: PLEASE PEDRO FELIZ – show some plate discipline. Make the pitcher work, get a count in your favor…
October 19th, 2009 at 10:34 pm
I would like to keep Park in there for the 8th….
October 19th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
blah, Feliz has been terrible this postseason.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
So much for plate discipline
October 19th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Wow, what an incredibly horrible at-bat by Pedro.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Get those fans to make some noise now
October 19th, 2009 at 10:36 pm
Ben Francisco… no Park
October 19th, 2009 at 10:37 pm
I am pretty disappointed in the fans tonight. It’s like a giant pity party.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Don’t agree with taking Park out at all, hopefully Frisco gives us a treat.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
have to bat for Park.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Ok lets hope then, that Madson has gotten his act together…
October 19th, 2009 at 10:38 pm
Come on, guys. Stop trying to tie it with one swing of the bat. Please?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
hun ko ko…dumb ass shmo
October 19th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
our bench has done nothing this postseason, oh well. still have 2 more innings!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
He just missed that one, so close again
October 19th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
God if Manuel just walks blake we are tied. now we have two tough relievers coming in.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:40 pm
don’t worry. it’s coming
October 19th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
Switched to 1210 and synced with DVR. To quote LA on Pedro: “He has no discipline at the plate.”
October 19th, 2009 at 10:42 pm
Damn this game is tense.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:43 pm
no cutters madson
October 19th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
SIT YOUR ASS DOWN MANNY
October 19th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
sit down Manny
October 19th, 2009 at 10:44 pm
Very nicely done, Mr. Madson. Now go get the next two.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:46 pm
take him up the ladder
October 19th, 2009 at 10:47 pm
dont put anybody on base!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
Nice thing about 1210 is no commentary on Manny being mentally challenged.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
stop showing Manny
October 19th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
here we go again….
October 19th, 2009 at 10:48 pm
I don’t think Madson has had a hit free inning yet this postseason
October 19th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
damn – how many of the dodgers hits have been with 2 strikes on the batter? first blanton, now madson…no breaks, and nobody can seal the deal.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
The Phillies seem to do better when I’m negative. What the hell?
October 19th, 2009 at 10:49 pm
yes he has, he had a quick 1-2-3 inning in the 9th of game 2 vs. the Rockies.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
dergibles!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
I’m glad Utley just ate that groundball rather than forcing anything.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
Just feels like a walk off kind of win. Maybe 8th inning go ahead and Lidge save kind of game
October 19th, 2009 at 10:51 pm
Ok guys, time to get positive. We got the top of the line up coming up with George Sherril coming in. You knoww that means? That means we have them right where we want them.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
HE WAS OUT!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
HE’S OUT AT SECOND HE NEVER TOUCHED THE BAG
October 19th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
need to get out of this inning
October 19th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
Ummm… He was out.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
These umpires are atrocious.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
HE WAS OUT!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:53 pm
stupid ump
October 19th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
wow. we’re not even getting the correct calls on the base steals. how much longer can this go on???
we deserve a break in the 8th – GO PHILS!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
there’s been so many 8th inning no man’s land infield dribblers you’d think the Dodger practiced them.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
Get him Madson!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
Hum a nah Hum a nah
October 19th, 2009 at 10:55 pm
nice job Madson!
let’s go Rollins, Victorino, and Utley!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:55 pm
Come on, Fightins. Return the favor of Game 2.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Attah boy, time to stick to to Sherryl…that’s what she said
October 19th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Ok top of the order…this is our time to get it going!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
I am sensing its time for the Phillies to do their best David Copperfield impression.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
nice fastball madson. GO PHILS! dodgers had an 8th inning rally in game 2 – now it’s our turn!!
But definitely make Sherrill work – plate discipline. the longer he works, the tougher the pressure gets for him.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Yeah, I’m liking our chances against Sherrill, judging by the first time we faced him.
October 19th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
See, go up the ladder Madson and don’t be afraid to make these guys kiss the dirt!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:57 pm
fricken umps are pissing me off
October 19th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
mycruzincooler.com Says:
October 19th, 2009 at 7:43 pm
Dodger Blue…..I predict a close game 6 to 5… but sorry your guys go down . LETS GO PHILLIES!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 10:58 pm
well which jimmy will it be … professional ball player or Patrick the Starfish? He has come thru in the late innings however…
October 19th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
I just remembered that Chip Caray used to call Braves games. No wonder he hates the Phillies.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
The Amzing Kreskin AKA mycruzincoolel HAS SPOKEN.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:00 pm
Chip Caray used to–and still does–molest collies.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
I told you guys earlier. What’s our nickname??
The F I G H T I N S!!!
This team isn’t giving up. Don’t forget that. Let’s go Phillies!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:01 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 11:01 pm
F–king Blake, man.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:02 pm
Well good AB by jimmy but good play by blake to rob him.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:04 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 11:10 pm
BITE TORRE ON THE A*S
October 19th, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Ryan come on, please…
October 19th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
up to Werth
October 19th, 2009 at 11:12 pm
Howard killed himself. Not a strike in the entire AB.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
ugh
October 19th, 2009 at 11:13 pm
Sadly, Howard cannot carry us indefinitely.
Werth’s had a poor series except for his shot last night. Come on, Jayson.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
I say Vic goes for third….I think Martin will blow it and chuck it into the outfield….
October 19th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
can’t get behind 0-2. howard cut his own throat on that one.
I am so sick of these TBS announcers…
October 19th, 2009 at 11:14 pm
Ok now the question is…can Werth deliver???
October 19th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
The whole idea of a 4-out save is such a farce. As is the idea of a save. Mentally, the pitcher must be solid enough to face the pressure. But, it’s simply an inning of relief. Announcers act like these guys can only pitch three outs, and when they do more, it’s as if their elbows start smoking, their shoulders turn red, etc. These guys are professional relievers.
/soapbox
October 19th, 2009 at 11:17 pm
ODog cannot shut-up…literally talks nonstop..hilarious. There was a shot of him in the dug out the other night and he couldn’t stop yammering to himself…
October 19th, 2009 at 11:18 pm
Jason, just a hit please
October 19th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
well, i guess it’s gonna have to be a walk off win…
October 19th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
dammit!!!!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
RISP.
Does this team have a switch? I cannot understand how they can go so hot and then so cold.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
up to Ibanez, Feliz, and Ruiz in the 9th
October 19th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
less
October 19th, 2009 at 11:20 pm
Smurfed again…
October 19th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
I assume you pinch hit for Feliz, right Chuck? Bueller? Bueller?
October 19th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
That’s what should have happened last Friday.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
absolutely MUST pinch hit for Feliz
October 19th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
you losers still whining about the announcers on here? lol
October 19th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Sorry guys if I had to do it all over again I would put Blake on base, bring in happ and get Wolf out. Tied 3-3. My bad.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
If you can get one on, I say run out Stairs–for the mental factor. Sure, JB may want revenge, but he also knows he has zero room for error.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
Stairs in the 9th
October 19th, 2009 at 11:23 pm
look – as long as hamels can deliver on Wednesday night, we’ll be fine with Cliff Lee in Game 6. he can pull the string on all of these dodger hitters.
still trying to stay positive for the 9th – we got ibanez (AND HE’S DUE) plus pinch hitters…
October 19th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
Pinch hit stairs for feliz. god the doders suck. should be a sweep. nobody on that team scares me. no power. bunch of fat ugly ball players.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
Why do I get the feeling that Eyre is going to turn this into a not so close game….
October 19th, 2009 at 11:24 pm
I agree that we must pinch hit for Feliz in the 9th!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:25 pm
darling has an emmy for best sports analyst,, he must suck pretty bad
October 19th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Lee is scheduled to pitch game 7, with Pedro in game 6. And I am not confident with Hamels in game 5. Not sure how anyone can be at this point. he didn’t pitch poorly in game 1 but he didn’t pitch great either.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
Absolutely Stairs should pinch hit, he took Broxton deep last year maybe he still has something left.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:26 pm
9th inning
6. Ibanez
7. Dobbs if Ibanez doesn’t reach, Stairs if he does
8. Ruiz
9. Stairs/Dobbs (opposite of 7 hitter)
October 19th, 2009 at 11:27 pm
Yeah Cairo might deliver.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Happ should pitch instead of one of those pitchers. I am afraid of Pedro getting hit this time around.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
Gimme Lidge.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:28 pm
another dodger hit with 2 strikes…all night long. this is making me absolutely nuts.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
As LA complains on the radio, with Lidge in, Furcal can walk to 2nd.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
The Dodgers don’t quit. Credit to them. Their two-strike, two-out hits and runs prove that. Go PHILS!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:30 pm
DAMNNNNN THIS GAME IS TENSE!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
Lidge–get it there in the freaking air.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:33 pm
that 2nd pitch was a strike
October 19th, 2009 at 11:34 pm
a DP would be sweet right here
October 19th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
Any chance the Dodgers sign Omar Daal and Adam Eaton to pitch in games 6 and 7?
October 19th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
Going back to earlier, I just don’t get Manuel’s insistence upon hanging with Blanton in the sixth inning. I don’t feel that he’s been as stellar as he’s been made out to be in this series (ala Phil Sheridan).
October 19th, 2009 at 11:36 pm
It’s the errors….their like blot clots…eventually they dislodge from the side wall of a vein, work their way up to a smaller blood vessel in your brain and pop goes the weasel.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
oh hell no
October 19th, 2009 at 11:37 pm
If I told you that Hamels v. Padilla would be an advantage for the Dodgers in say, April…would you have believed that?
October 19th, 2009 at 11:38 pm
@ 4daysrest:
Only if Hamels was injured and Padilla was taking his Lamictal.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
hmm
October 19th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
I’m almost positive Ethier will drive in a run here….
October 19th, 2009 at 11:39 pm
Wow, almost…a bit risky with Frucal’s speed but what a throw
October 19th, 2009 at 11:40 pm
If Ruiz cannot dig out a pitch, no one can. Come on, BL.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
Got to go fastball now.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
well Lidge does the job
October 19th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
Bottom 9th – Walk off time!!! GO PHILS
October 19th, 2009 at 11:41 pm
OK fellas, time for a walk off
October 19th, 2009 at 11:42 pm
Lidge is Back!?!?!?!?
October 19th, 2009 at 11:42 pm
Brad Lidge threw the cutter and I just burst out laughing. I’m glad he seems to be somewhat better, but our closer coming out with a new pitch in the last few days of the season was pretty ridiculous.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
“Over? Did you say over? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! And it ain’t over now. ‘Cause when the goin’ gets tough…the tough get goin’! Who’s with me? Let’s go!” (John Belushi from Animal House)
October 19th, 2009 at 11:44 pm
man – i really want to see broxton blow his arm out. or just go down like moyer did…just get him outta here
October 19th, 2009 at 11:44 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 11:45 pm
we need a Stairs blast or well . . .
October 19th, 2009 at 11:46 pm
Getting the feeling Broxton remembers Stairs.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
well at least we got a baserunner and Bruntlett can pinch run.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
Ohhhh! THIS is why we need Bruntlett!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
broxton is a total p*ssy. he’s scared of stairs and he walks him! LOL.
wish ibanez had hit that pitch before – it looked like ball 2
October 19th, 2009 at 11:47 pm
Look out…it’s the Brunt
October 19th, 2009 at 11:48 pm
he hits Ruiz!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:48 pm
Come on, Fightins!
Keep the parade moving!
October 19th, 2009 at 11:48 pm

October 19th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
Dobbs you son of a gun. You can make me forgive you for this entire miserable nightmare of a year. Just get a single…or a double. Homer would be sweet too but I’ll take a single. I ain’t greedy.
October 19th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
please dear god do not hit into a double play.

October 20th, 2009 at 12:02 am
I didn’t stop screaming OH MY GOD for five minutes. Then eight more.
That was unbelievable. Better than Rockies game 3 for sure, cause we had NO momentum at all, and then all of a sudden it was done and won.
In-CREDIBLE.

“Blanton will be fine. Even if he trails – and I’ve a feeling he will because Steve Phillips said on ESPN that Wolf is apparently excellent against lefties with his high fastball – he’ll keep it close enough that we’ll come back and win it. Maybe my prediction for Lidge getting the win will come true. We as fans will need to rattle Wolf.”
Done, and done.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:03 am
Also, thanks a bunch Mike D! J-Roll baby! I admit I did NOT have phaith in J-Roll (I am eating crow and loving it). I told my wife “J-Roll will swing at first pitch again, and get an out”. Well he swung at first pitch, but missed it, and CAME UP HUGE! Lets take this next game fellas! Lets take this next game! Dont give them hope, dont give them hope!
October 20th, 2009 at 12:03 am

I wouldnt call October Lucky for him anymore, he has been LOCKED IN! 1 more RBI for Howard and he PASSES LOU GEHRIG! Are you freakin kidding me?

Great win. Absolutely amazing.

October 20th, 2009 at 12:24 am
Like I said yesterday, this Phillies team is a passionate emotional bunch! Last year was for Cholly’s mother and Vic’s grandmother, this year is for Harry! RIP Harry, the PHans of Philadelphia have NOT forgotten about you!

October 20th, 2009 at 12:33 am
As we approach this Halloween time of the year I have seen a relevant likeness between our Phillies and a legend of the horror genre. The icon Jason Vorhees, no matter how many times people thought they had laid him to rest, always found a way to rise up out of the grave at the last second possible. Be afraid Dodgers/Angels/Yankees, be very afraid. We do not die easily.
High hopes, baby.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:33 am
I was telling my buddy Dan how Harry would be so proud of this team. Dan said, “he is.” Because right now, somewhere, Harry is looking down and smiling, and by his side, Whitey is telling him, “hard to believe, Harry.”
October 20th, 2009 at 12:34 am
Yeah, they could’ve swept, but that’s ancient history now. I’m feeling, uh, pretty good about the odds of winning one more out of three
October 20th, 2009 at 12:34 am
Mike D….that’s unbelievable.
I’m not gonna be able to sleep either. Man. I’ll be around, watching post games galore and wallowing in the amazingness that is the soon to be WFC ‘09 Phils.

October 20th, 2009 at 12:39 am
i keep refreshing philly.com for some stories, but damn if an ending like that wont cause some deletions of pararaphs
October 20th, 2009 at 12:39 am
Its great when you don’t have to rush to find the remote turn off Sports Center when they segway to the heart wrenching loss your team suffered.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:40 am
By the way, hopefully someone gets a clip of Franzke and LA on JRoll’s hit. Syncing the radio to the TV was the only way to watch it. The genuine excitement, yelling, static from the deafening crowd… awesome.
October 20th, 2009 at 12:42 am
Anyone at the game tonight?? What was it like when that hit happened?
October 20th, 2009 at 12:47 am
Listen to WPHT if you can, right now they’re recapping the game.
Brian Sr. of CO, I totally consent with you doing this. Maybe the first Phillies Nation baby!
October 20th, 2009 at 12:48 am
With that said, Brian Sr., if the Phillies start losing after the picture goes up, it needs to come down. Surely you understand
October 20th, 2009 at 12:48 am
Congrats Brian! Glad to hear it.
For the second year in a row the Phillies try to get me killed in game 4 by getting a dramatic game winning hit as I am driving home from work. Still I love it!
October 20th, 2009 at 12:48 am

I may have to change his nickname to Jimmy after that one.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:10 am
Matt stairs right in the middle of it again. Id not thought in a million years j roll gets a hit there. The announcers make broxton seem unhittable lol. Guess not. Ruiz is slower than Sid bream rounding the bases but he got there. Thats up there with game 4 last year. simply amazing i am still in shock. win 5 more games and th old man gets a statue at the stadium. I mean that seriously
October 20th, 2009 at 1:11 am
The thing I have said to everyone the past hour or so, “I knew they would win. I just did not think it would happen like that.” Incredible. I thought they would tie it up, and win in extra innings.
It’s was funny, right before Jimmy came up to bat, my fiance said to me, “Well, are you excited to go to the game on Wednesday?” And I said,”yea, it’s going go be great to go to a clincher. Jimmy Rollins has been waiting his whole life for this moment.” And she looked at me like I was from Mars. Last Monday taught me to never stop believing.
Finally, big round of applause for the bullpen for keeping it close. I will be sitting in section 414 on Wednesday, can’t wait to give the Dodgers hell.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:11 am
Oh yea and lidge got the win! No other erson but the old man gets 2 saves in a win from lidge in this stiruation. Hell Id have had lidge not on the roster. Love the old man
October 20th, 2009 at 1:13 am
And happy birthday, Tim! Nice to hear from you again. All is well, I hope?
October 20th, 2009 at 1:16 am
The hospital as flickr and other photo sharing sites blocked. Thats stupid! I tried posting to Flickr. oh well.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:21 am
That was a really awesome call. They going crazy only made me want to go crazier. L.A. seemed to be trying to stay composed but then completely gave up on that. LOL!
October 20th, 2009 at 1:49 am
still looking for those dodger fans.
October 20th, 2009 at 1:52 am
BlooBlood showed ip on the other post about hoping we learn what it felt like tonight. Need we remember the 1993 World Series. We know all to well what its like as Phillies fans to lose it in the bottom of the 9th on a walkoff. (we still forgive you Mitch Williams).
