I know it is his first game and all, but would it not be better for Dom to bat in front of the good hitters, so that he would have a better chance of seeing fastballs, why not bat him second, I am not saying they are going to pitch around the kid in his first game, but with Raul heating up and Ryan on a tear, you would think they would have to throw strikes to Dom in the 2 hole. I know you do not want to put pressure on the kid but isn’t batting 6th just as much pressure, and having Chooch and Wilson Valdez batting behind you that would allow their pitcher to see if the Kid will chase balls out of the strike zone.
This team is going to need JRoll back sooner than later, he needs to play after these two games against the snakes. It is the Nationals right, he needs to play in that series even if he is not 100%, it is not like he is going to cause any more damage to the toe, it is not like a pulled muscle, I know it hurts and he might lose some range. And most of you do not think he is a lead off guy, but he is our lead off guy.
Good luck tonight Dom how about you hit a dinger in your first at bat that would be cool
July 28th, 2010 at 6:56 pm
I have picked him up in fantasy.
Is starting tomorrow.
Re: the nationals
No shot the jeopardize Strassburg we wont see him this weekend. But on the down side I bet they shut him down for the year.
D. Brown is the only phillie I have. People over value the phils in the fantasy drafts.
July 28th, 2010 at 7:04 pm
I AM SO SO PUMPED FOR TONIGHTS GAME!!!!!LETS DO THIS PHILLY…..
July 28th, 2010 at 7:07 pm
Roy and Dom Brown it is exciting.
He better hit 3 homers tonight or he is a bum.
July 28th, 2010 at 7:18 pm
Hey Phillyboy –
Go Dom Brown, Go Phillies!
Shane who?
July 28th, 2010 at 9:00 pm
D Brown is the man
July 28th, 2010 at 9:01 pm
Domonic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
July 28th, 2010 at 9:02 pm
Phillies Nation is getting Dom-onated
July 28th, 2010 at 9:02 pm
this site is terrible. d. brown is awesome. shame on ruin jr to wait this long to bring him up. could of provided a spark. still working on the oswalt deal. happ is better. here we go to give away the farm unless he has five teams involved like starks said. please no lilly.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:03 pm
Dom brown looks great he could really help keep this offense rolling I like him batting 6th too
July 28th, 2010 at 9:04 pm
ChuckS- the Fightin’s are dealing with it too. It sucks but we’re working hard.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:04 pm
whoever is the server for this site they should be pistol whipped
D Brown isnt going back down ever.
Hes here
gonna be tough to not play him vs righties.
Ruiz is so clutch
July 28th, 2010 at 9:05 pm
What a night
July 28th, 2010 at 9:06 pm
I read your post about Lilly Pat. You mentioned an upgrade over Happ. I hope you do not mean trading Happ in that deal. NO WAY would the PHILLIES DO THAT. Ruin Jr. is not that stupid. To give up a guy like Happ for a rent a player. Lilly is a free agent.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:07 pm
Lilly has very good stuff and going from a perenial loser to a winner would do him very good.
Id trade Happ for him.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Doc is just plain nasty…Just a hall of fame pitcher.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:09 pm
Roy is just to good
July 28th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
you would trade happ for a player that will be here for two months. are you nuts. happ is not going for lilly. oswalt yes.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
doc is performing surgery.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:11 pm
Best pitcher the Phils ever had. Right there with Lefty
I dont like the amount of innings
Hes on pace for career high
need to take out when you can.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:12 pm
your right andrew but do you trust baez with a five run lead. or ledge
July 28th, 2010 at 9:13 pm
i’ve been lurking on this site (when it’s UP – sheesh oh man) and love the chatter. in honor of D Brown’s super awesome debut so far i decided to get in to the mix! love chooch – super clutch, what a great at bat, so glad polly didn’t strand him on third…. when j roll is back and shane, does that mean we can bench valdez?!? he is worse than useless at the plate.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:13 pm
shut the F up guys — enjoy the game — Oswalt? Happ? come on guys — have a beer and enjoy this.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:15 pm
Philly fans highly over rate Happs value. I know its what fans do.
What do you guys see Happ as? Hes 27 and has 14 career wins.
I love him and am not really disrespecting him. More saying some fans really think hes worth more than he is. Hes Bob Walk.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:15 pm
dont like beer.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
not overrating happ. happ is a nice pitcher with some bad luck with injuries. pitched great last year. your going to give him away for an average lilly. for two months.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:17 pm
So Roy now leads the league in K’s and is in second in ERA, inching really close to the lead in WHIP as well. Is he officially back in the CY discussion?
July 28th, 2010 at 9:18 pm
No way happ for Lilly unless Lilly agreed to an extension. You trade happ for Lilly you need 2 starters next year. Happ only goes for a pitcher with 2+ years on his contract.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:18 pm
Id take lilly for a few years. Hes really good really good stuff
LOL @ ledge
somehow I never thoguht of that before
July 28th, 2010 at 9:18 pm
loving ibanez right now
July 28th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
What a fun game to be watching!
July 28th, 2010 at 9:19 pm
Cy Halladay
July 28th, 2010 at 9:20 pm
last post was not me — whoever you are — grow up
July 28th, 2010 at 9:22 pm
Jeff,
The site is great, the hosting company is terrible. They are correcting that, hopefully soon.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:22 pm
Halladay was ever out of the Cy Young convo?
He may be leading I think Wainwright had a bad outing and the Colorado dude is really coming back to reality
July 28th, 2010 at 9:23 pm
Jeff, I said Lilly would be a very slight upgrade. And maybe not even that. Happ would probably be better in the long run because he’s cheaper.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:23 pm
Jayson Werth is on fire
July 28th, 2010 at 9:24 pm
It is fun warching the phils lately
But all this talk of Juan Bell. He made Steve Jeltz look like Babe Ruth
July 28th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
Yea when they make the site better hopefully
we can have a name and others cant use it
July 28th, 2010 at 9:25 pm
Dom Brown is the man
July 28th, 2010 at 9:26 pm
Josh Johnson has always been tops in the Cy Young race, IMO, but now that Halladay leads in K’s, has more innings, CGs, SHOs, his WHIP and ERA are inching closer to Johnson, etc. Ubaldo, I never thought he really had a chance because other than wins, he really wasn’t tops in any of the other categories.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:26 pm
Halladay have a leash tonight?
July 28th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
Dom Brown is the best addition we could have made. Watch out Atlanta! Can’t wait to hit up the game tomorrow and watch the Phillies mash!
Are they selling #9 jerseys yet?
July 28th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
you like the ledge..lol. I was just saying I would not mind having Lilly but not for Happ. No way.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:28 pm
“TT” love yah — NUMBER 9
July 28th, 2010 at 9:28 pm
Double, Single, Sac fly 2 rbis, 2 runs. Not to bad for your first game. LOL
July 28th, 2010 at 9:28 pm
CHOOOOCH IS BACK..WOW
July 28th, 2010 at 9:28 pm
Ok now why not take Roy out now?
Just saying
July 28th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
This is such an awesome game. I envy everyone there right now.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Ruiz is my favorite player by about 100 miles
July 28th, 2010 at 9:29 pm
Bout time we get the good doctor some runs. If we did this all the time he would be 16-3
July 28th, 2010 at 9:34 pm
I dont really want Doc to go the whole way.
But he knows his body I guess. This isnt a Kerry wood Prior situation. I hope
July 28th, 2010 at 9:34 pm
Wonder if Oswalt is thinking how great it could be playing in philly?
July 28th, 2010 at 9:36 pm
Derek Lee rejected a trade today. Kinda like Delgado that time.
some players dont care abotu winning.
although Ive always heard Lee is a great clubhouse guy. Delgado is a cancer.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:38 pm
So he does live up to the hype!!
July 28th, 2010 at 9:46 pm
Alright Cholly take the Doc out.. we’re up by 7. Send whoever to pitch the 9th. Give the Doc some well-deserved rest. 104 pitches is enough every once in a while… we’re gonna need him to be in top form for all those intra-division games in September.
July 28th, 2010 at 9:46 pm
I think Doc can go the whole way, get himself another win and a complete game shut-out.
Ibanez/Werth/Brown/Ruiz is tonight’s version of last night’s Polanco/Howard/Werth/Ibanez.
Fun times all around.
If we get half the fun tomorrow night when I’m there in person, I’ll be a very happy camper for my inaugural trip to the Bank.
July 28th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
Its official
the phils are back finally
I guess Greg Gross must have some mighty powerful binochulars
July 28th, 2010 at 10:37 pm
Too bad this site isnt functioning what a great night.
July 28th, 2010 at 10:38 pm
charlie said he didnt ask Roy or even consider taking him out.
As long as they win
July 28th, 2010 at 10:43 pm
Is it me or does Brown have a tremendous loop in his swing? Another twenty pounds and he’ll be built exactly like the sweetest swinging lefty of the last 25 years: Darryl Strawberry.
The Dipsy
July 28th, 2010 at 10:44 pm
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!JUST WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!SRY GUYS I WAS NOT HERE- SITE WAS GIVING ME PROMBLEMS!!!DID I TELL YA-OR DID I TELL YA!!!HE IS THE REAL DEAL!!!!!!!
July 28th, 2010 at 10:45 pm
I AGREE IF HE BULKS UP………WATCH OUT!!!!
July 28th, 2010 at 10:47 pm
I think it will suck tommorrow because he will not play but we should still be able to get the W!!!you will see ben tommorrow!!
July 28th, 2010 at 10:48 pm
