Welcome Mets Fan!
Hey stupid! The Mets are a very bad team, and an even worse organization.
They got a brand new stadium that celebrates the history of other (better) teams from New York and other (better) players.
They earned the ignominious title of “biggest choke artists ever” after their 2007 collapse. The 2008 collapse was almost as laughable. Wait, 2009 was kind of a joke too. Injuries are not an excuse.
Your owners overspend for players even though they got hosed in a ponzi scheme.
Remember when Castillo dropped that ball against the Yankees?
If you want to become a Phillies fan, we’d be happy to have you. Or just leave a comment…that is, if you’re able to form complete sentences.

On second thought. Why dont you come back to New York. I will gladly meet you anywhere.
September 20th, 2009 at 10:22 pm
Also, all of the stuff you mentioned was from the last 2 years. I choose not to define my fanship from 2 years out of 48 years. I am well aware that our Front Office is in shambles ,but that really does not matter. Winning or loosing does not really matter that much either. If it did for you, then you would have jumped off the bandwagon some time around the 5,000 loss. Or the 2 championships in all these years of existing. Or the some weird love/hate thing you have with New York and our fans. Play baseball guys, the Mets are not involved with your season anymore.
p.s. your fans still suck way more. Just ask your boy Jimmy.
September 20th, 2009 at 10:29 pm
haha, arent we on a Philadelphia Phillies site? Thats what I thought. So why are you on here? Oh well since you are, I will ask you a rew questions. Since 1962 (FYI thats when the Mets entered the league) Who has More NL East division Titles, more Playoff Wins, and More WS appearances, the Mets or the Phillies? Also Who has more Losses and more Losing seasons, the Mets of the Phillies? Can you answer those?
“Or the some weird love/hate thing you have with New York and our fans.” Probably comes from LOSERS like you that come trolling on a Phillies site after the PHILLIES knocked the Mets out of the playoffs officially, but then again they have been out of the playoff picture since a few weeks before the All Star Game. LOL
September 20th, 2009 at 10:41 pm
Actually Brian, I did not come trolling on this site. You, if you’re the dude with the twitter, put up a tweet, baiting me onto this site. Have you read this post? Good, because clearly, that is also why I decided to comment. It actually asks me to comment in the last sentence. So that whole theory is shot. The dude wanted Met fans to come here so he can argue with us, or you did. Also, Lets look at the Phillies first 48 years of existing. Who has more losses? in their first 48 years? Who took longer to win a pennant? Who took longer to win a world series? we can go back and forth all day. I do not care about the Phillies ,but I do care about the Mets and will defened them when some fool writes what he did.

[...] from the city of brotherly love. This time it’s a letter to Mets fans from a site called Phillies Nation. So you don’t have to provide them with any additional traffic I will re-post the letter [...]

Not exactly sure what the point of this article is. Do we really feel a need to waste our time mocking the Mets? Seriously? I know I don’t think two seconds about them.
I expect better out of you Phillies Nation.

November 15th, 2009 at 3:38 am
Why are the phillies so obsessed with the Mets? Only reason they won East in 07 was because mets collapsed, so they didnt win shit, same with 08, and 09 the mets whole team was injured, so philllies got another cheap title, so as i see it, phillies still havent beaten the mets for real, if phillies win in 2010 when mets are healthy and dont collapse, then ill start giving them some respect, but untill they REALLY win a NL East title, there just lucky.

Only team with 10,000 losses = Phillies
Worst Fans in the Nation = Phillies
*The most pathetic and sad thing about the Phillies is that they have been around since baseball pretty much started and have won only two world series. the mets have been around since 62 and have two world series and the mets won theres first*
*Phillies are not quite as pathetic as the Eagles but certainly up there
January 6th, 2010 at 1:05 am
Yeah, fuk phillies, with jason bay here, phillies dont stand a chance, lets see how they win the NL east now, when mets dont get destroyed by injuries, lucky loser phillies, (who also always get there ass kicked by the american League)
January 7th, 2010 at 2:57 pm
First to “To all phillie losers” the correct spelling is theirs, not theres. If you are going to insult a fanbase as pathetic, please keep your spelling accurate to at least a third grade level, its a little demeaning. Thanks
You Mets cockroaches and Phillies bandwangoneers need to get a life. Rivalries make baseball fun. Hating on a pathetic Mets team is no fun. Its like beating up a little girl. Try picking on someone your own size. Hate the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, or even the borderline Cards (they do have the hateable Albie Pujols).
07 and 08 Rivalry was a blast. I loved to hate those Mets, and I know they loved to hate us. Thats what makes the game great. Its part of the symmetry of baseball. Watching two titans class is way more excitinge than trying to watch a hatchback honda civic trying to keep up with a ferrari, even though it can be cute for a minute, the story line just gets old.
Forget about the Mets until they prove themselves worthy of our worry. Right now the only team worth worrying about is the Yanks, and with Doc and the Real Kid Cole pitching one and two, I’d bet on the good guys in red every time.
January 7th, 2010 at 8:55 pm
Stay classy, Philly. And thanks so much for beating the Yankees. Oh, right…

Since “Tryin to be reasonable” was an ignorant ass correcting spelling and grammar on, of all things, a web blog/comment…I’ve posted his comments with the spelling corrections in Upper case…your grammar is beyond belief it’s so poor so I won’t even attempt to correct that…you’re certainly not worth that much time…Jackass!
First to “To all phillie losers” the correct spelling is theirs, not theres. If you are going to insult a FAN BASE (ONE WORD) as pathetic, please keep your spelling accurate to at least a third grade level, its (IT’S) a little demeaning. Thanks…I THOUGHT THIS WAS FUNNY AS YOU SAY IT’S DEMEANING…AND MISSPELL “IT’S” LOL. IDIOT!
You Mets cockroaches and Phillies bandwangoneers (BANDWAGON, NOT “BANDWANGON” DUMB ASS) need to get a life. Rivalries make baseball fun. Hating on a pathetic Mets team is no fun. Its like beating up a little girl. Try picking on someone your own size. Hate the Dodgers, Yankees, Red Sox, or even the borderline Cards (they do have the hateable (HATABLE) YOU USED ANCIENT ENGLISH SPELLING…Albie Pujols).
07 and 08 Rivalry was a blast. I loved to hate those Mets, and I know they loved to hate us. Thats (THAT’S) ANOTHER ERROR MUCH THE SAME AS YOU CORRECTED…what makes the game great. Its part of the symmetry of baseball. Watching two titans class is way more excitinge (EXCITING) than trying to watch a hatchback honda civic trying to keep up with a ferrari, even though it can be cute for a minute, the story line just gets old.

Guess “Tryin to be reasonable” went to Philly public school…lol

You see, guys like Lew prove that Phillie fans are not all a-holes. I mean… correcting spelling mistakes on a blog? …..

Everybodies gotta relax. Baseball runs in cycles. Teams are good for awhile and then a different team is good. These last few seasons is really the only stretch when the Mets and Phillies have been competitive at the same time.
In 2006 the Mets were the best team. In 07 it was still the Mets, though the Mets choked it away. In 08 the Mets overachieved to even be up there with the Phillies, so I don’t consider that one a choke. In 09 it was Phillies, even if the Mets were healthy they were not as good.
What me and many other Met fans have trouble understanding is how much Phillies’ fans actually care about the Mets. Its almost as if it meant more to them to stick it to us, instead of enjoying a team that won a world series and got to another.
As for this year, I thought the Mets closed the gap with the addition of Bay, but now without Beltran for at least two months, (and could be more…. our doctors screw up everything), and lacking a power hitting first basemen, I think the Phillies are still the obvious favorite in the division. Other than the Phillies, the NL is really not too impressive, so I think that the Mets could still compete.
Phillies and Mets fans can both agree on one thing though…. those Santana-Halladay games are gonna be epic.
January 29th, 2010 at 3:33 am
Pathetic Mets team? i dont think so. Early last year, and all of 08, Mets dominated the phillies head to head, its a fact, look it up. So acting like the mets are shit, even though ur team always loses to them doesnt make sense. 07 08 and 09 were all lucky titles, win one for real, then we will talk, (and yes, when half your team is injured, it is a excuse)
January 30th, 2010 at 10:22 pm
Ask yourself this: How many World Series have the Mets won? Answer: 2 How many World Series have the Phillies won? Answer: 2 The Phillies have been around for over 70 more years and have not much to show for it. The Phillies have lost more games than any other franchise (not even the Cubs ever went that low). It took the Mets only 7 years to win their first title. It took the Phillies what, like 96 years? The sad part is, the Phillies have had so many good players over the years and you would think that they would have had won more. The Mets have had no one that good when they won their World Series. Sure, now they have Utley and Howard (and now Halladay) but not much else. The same for the Mets (though slightly lesser pitching). I fail to see how the Phillies are so much better than the Mets.
