Vote For Your Phillies Affiliates In Logo Tournament

It’s almost March Madness time, so it’s also time for a bunch of people to roll out ridiculous brackets on everything on the face of the Earth.

Darren Rovell, the sports business reporter at CNBC.com, has concocted his tournament of the top-64 Minor League Baseball logos. Voting is ongoing.

Among the Phillies affiliates involved in the tournament:
Lakewood Blue Claws (A) – No. 3 seed
Williamsport Crosscutters (SS) – No. 4 seed
Clearwater Threshers (A+) – No. 8 seed
Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs (AAA) – No. 14 seed

And I was shocked to find my town’s team, the Connecticut Defenders

(AA, Giants), are a No. 1 seed. The Defenders are in Norwich, Conn., where I live, and the stadium is in the middle of nowhere and not many people go to games. Such is life here in Eastern Connecticut.

Vote for your Phillies affiliates (when he opens voting for said teams)!

Tim Malcolm

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
