Gameday: Phillies (2-2) At Reds (2-2)

Alright, friends: it’s Adam Eaton time.

The right-hander will make his first start of the year against Aaron Harang and the Reds today at Great American Ball Park. After an 8-4 win, it seems the offense is here for the long run in 2008. Chase Utley and Pat Burrell homered in the win — Utley twice.

Now it’s up to Eaton to prove himself worthy of the fifth starter job. If he doesn’t succeed, be ready for a coup via Chad Durbin.

Phillies: Adam Eaton (0-0), 0.00 ERA
Reds: Aaron Harang (0-1), 3.00 ERA

Gametime: 1:10 p.m.
Weather: 57 degrees, partly cloudy
Lineup: Rollins/Victorino/Utley/Howard/Burrell/Jenkins/Dobbs/Coste/Eaton

Your gameday beer: It’s a chilly, cloudy Saturday afternoon in Cincinnati. It’s probably high time you broke out the Sierra Nevada India Pale Ale

. It’s a strong, but distincly sweet beer with fruity hops and real wheat hidden inside. Taste slowly underneath the smog for some amazing flavor. One of the best beers you’ll ever have, and on a cloudy weekend day, it makes everything all better. Goes well with — well, what else — strong Indian food.

Go Phillies!

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
