Gamenight: Giants (13-17) At Phillies (17-13)

The Phillies remained in first place in the NL East with a huge walk-off win last night. Pat Burrell continued his torrid start with a two-run, game-winning home run off Brian Wilson to give the Phils a 6-5 win over the Giants.

Tonight Brett Myers is on the hill. He said he’s been long tossing and studying game film. Good. He needs to go seven tonight – anything less would be uncivilized.

By the way, go Flyers!

Phillies: Brett Myers (2-2), 5.11 ERA
Giants: Matt Cain (1-2), 4.41 ERA

Gametime: 7:05 p.m.
Weather:
63 degrees, cloudy
Lineup: Werth/Bruntlett/Utley/Howard/Burrell/Dobbs/Victorino/Ruiz/Myers

Your gamenight beer: I won’t do this often, but tonight I am. I’m at my brother’s housewarming/mom’s birthday/niece’s communion/friend’s new baby/my reclaim my life party in northeast Philly (Ashton and Willits if anyone wants to stop by). We’re grilling, watching the Phils and Flyers and drinking kegs of Rolling Rock. That is our beer tonight. Drink it. Have a burger with it – you’ll need it.

Go Phillies!

Tim Malcolm

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
