Gamenight: Phillies (36-26) At Braves (32-29)

The Phillies polished off an 8-2 homestand with an easy win over the Reds at Citizens Bank Park. Cole Hamels was splendid in delivering his second career complete game-shutout. He bested the young Homer Bailey, while the Phils offense took advantage of Reds’ miscues for a 5-0 win.

Now the Phils will tear into the meat of the schedule, starting with a three-game weekend set in Atlanta, the weekend’s marquee matchup if anyone has anything to say about it. It’s no child’s play tonight — the Phils will face veteran Tim Hudson, who recently, they have owned (13 starts, 4.02 ERA). He is recovering from a strained left hamstring but is set to pitch. He’ll face Jamie Moyer, who has pitched very well as of late, possibly having his best outing in his last start, a drubbing of the Marlins.

Jimmy Rollins, taken out for not running out a pop fly yesterday — is in the starting lineup tonight.

Phillies: Jamie Moyer (6-3) 4.65 ERA
Braves: Tim Hudson (7-4) 3.01 ERA

Gametime: 7:30 p.m. EST
Weather: 88 degrees, mostly sunny
Lineup: Rollins, Victorino, Utley, Howard, Burrell, Jenkins, Feliz, Ruiz, Moyer

Your gameday beer: Since the Phils drafted a kid from Brooklyn, let’s all open some Brooklyn Lagers. A crisp and earthy beverage, this can be enjoyed best with some chicken parm. So throw some red sauce on your chicken, slap it in a roll and go nuts. Tonight, it’s no sleep ’til Brooklyn.

Go Phillies!
