Phillies Sign Draft Pick Gose, 7 Others

The Phillies have signed eight draft picks, including a biggie: Anthony Gose.

Gose, the 51st overall pick, is an outfielder/pitcher who was a strong possibility to instead go to the University of Arizona. As an outfielder he’s a nice toolsie player, but as a pitcher he throws a 97 mph fastball, and he’s left-handed.

The other signees:

Jeremy Hamilton (5th round, 1B)
Cody Overbeck (9th round, 3B)

Daniel Hargrave (22nd round, 2B)
Brandon Haislet (23rd round, OF)
Jordan Ellis (28th round, RHP)
Michael Cisco (36th round, RHP)
Bryan Frew (43rd round, OF)

All of the signees are college players, except for Gose.
