25-Man Roster Finalized

The Phillies have announced their playoff roster. It’s what we expected:

Catchers: Carlos Ruiz / Chris Coste
Infielders: Ryan Howard / Chase Utley / Pedro Feliz / Jimmy Rollins / Eric Bruntlett / Greg Dobbs
Outfielders: Pat Burrell / Shane Victorino / Jayson Werth / So Taguchi / Matt Stairs / Geoff Jenkins

Starting Pitchers: Cole Hamels / Brett Myers / Jamie Moyer / Joe Blanton
Relief Pitchers: JA Happ / Clay Condrey / Chad Durbin / Scott Eyre / Ryan Madson / JC Romero / Brad Lidge

Rudy Seanez will stay with the team if they need another pitcher; Lou Marson stays with the team if they need another hitter. And for the experience. Which is a great, great move.

Adam Eaton, Les Walrond and Tadahito Iguchi are going home.

Greg Golson, Kyle Kendrick, Andy Tracy and Mike Cervenak are going to the Florida Instructional League. They could join the team if necessary in the NLCS or World Series.

Tim first found the Phillies as a little infant at Veteran’s Stadium, cheering on a Juan Samuel game-winning home run in his very first game. With the pinstripes in his blood, he witnessed Terry Mulholland’s 1990 no-hitter, “Steve Carlton Night” at the Vet, game three of the 1993 World Series, countless games during the charmed 2008 championship season and various road excursions. Since November 2007 Tim’s been writing about them daily at Phillies Nation, becoming one of the world’s most popular Phillies scribes. You can catch him on Twitter and Facebook, as well. When he’s not talking about the Phils he’s relaxing with a St. Bernardus ABT 12 or one of his many favored brews.
