Just an early indicator:
ESPN SportsNation’s PollCenter features the Phillies-Rays World Series as its prompt. And the results aren’t really surprising: 62 percent of ESPN’s voters thinks the Rays will win the Series. The only states that favor the Phils: Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware.
This is despite the fact 65 percent thinks the Phils have a better lineup than the Rays, and 68 percent thinks the Phils have the better bullpen. Only the Rays are better in the rotation, according to the fans, 60-40.
I know, I don’t get it either.
By the way, ESPN is trying to tell people this series is unwatchable by asking “How much of this World Series will you watch?” Luckily, 70 percent say they’ll watch every game.
